They have some of the best beans in Whittier and portions are generous. The staff are always friendly and efficient. My only knock on them is they now limit their salsas. 1 salsa for 1 burrito. This place has been around for decades and used to be the spot. Not anymore. I ordered a Taquito plate with beans only. The beans are dry and have zero flavor. Then there is the Taquito. I received 3. Upon eating the 2nd one, half way through, I bit into a hard piece. I thought it was a piece of overcooked meat. It was not. It was a toothpick!!! My favorite from here is the rice and refried beans. So good. Especially with their red sauce for a little spice. I usually get the large order taquitos with rice and beans on the side/guacamole. Sometimes the beef or chicken I wish could be a little more flavorful in my opinion but with the guacamole and sour cream and so forth it comes together well. After many years, I decided to drive 30 minutes to get a burrito from this place. Unfortunately, I was told the restaurant was sold a while back, and you can definitely taste the difference. The burritos are not the same anymore. The beans were dry, and there were more beans than meat. On top of that, they got my enchilada order wrong -- I asked for chicken and received only cheese. We ordered burritos with ham, sausage, bacon and all 3. I added guacamole and pico de gallo because that's how we like our burritos. These burritos are tasty...and huge. I can only eat about half. Everything is cooked well and the fillings are good. My only complaint would be the eggs are a little overcooked. The folks who work here are really nice. The refried beans are heavenly! I live for the bean and cheese burritos. My only complaint is the taquitos and guacamole use to be so much better I don't know what happened. Been coming here for most for my life this is Mexican comfort food. Service consistent and on point burritos and tacos. They make their food fresh so orders do take a little longer then a typical fast food place. I tried the hamburger once and I can't recommend it. But any Mexican food is usually on point. It's all order to go and no dining in. They used to have a dining area but when they remodeled a few years ago they closed the dining area. It was just some benches and tables a very crude dining area so there is really no loss there. It's alway been more of an order to go place. My favorite burrito when I was a kid was the lengua burrito but I have not had that one since the 90s now most recently I like there hard shell beef tacos and chili verde burrito and in the morning I love the Mexicali burrito that one is really good. Thay make a lot of good food so you have to figure out what you like and don't like, but whatever it is they have been very consistent through out the years. I appreciate long standing restaurants that have lasted and stayed in business for decades because it always makes Whittier feel like home when you been gone for years and come back and your favorite places are waiting for you with all of there unique memories. FOOD: Came here on a Sunday morning and ordered before a crowd of people came through. Seeing how busy it got was a nice sign for me. I ordered the classic Chorizo Burrito with Homemade Potatoes. The tortilla itself was soft, held together well, and was tasty. The chorizo with the potatoes was really good but I would add just a little bit more salt because the fluffiness of the egg drowned out the flavor just a little bit. Solid burrito, needed some seasoning. Food: I got the sausage breakfast burrito with beans and potatoes and it was solid. Not the best but it did the job. I think if the potatoes were seasoned right, this would've been great! For about $9 you get a huge burrito though and that's pretty great! I also got a side of fries and they were pretty great. Held up well on the ride home and weren't soggy! Customer service: Everyone there was super nice and got people in and out pretty quickly. The space looked like it's kept relatively clean and they got me my food in about 15-ish minutes. Parking: Parking is pretty minimal if you're coming on a busy day but you might have a chance to park in the 7-11 for a quick minute to grab a bite. This place is a joke. I have been coming here for over 30 years when I was a kid. It has been 2 years since I been here because the last time the food was horrible. I was around the neighborhood and saw the place and said to myself well let me try it again. I ordered the burrito track with guacamole for over $20 dollar with no drink. I drove a few blocks to a parking lot because there are no sitting area. It look good when you first see your plate of food but one I started to eat the burrito, the carne asada has no flavor or seasoning despite the enchilada sauce that was put on top or the nasty hot sauce that I put on the burrito it still taste horrible. The beans are thick very weird and has zero flavor too. You are better off with a can of Rosarito beans. The rice was mushy and dry. Everything about this burrito with the side of beans/rice was horrible and nasty. As a Mexicano, it is embarrassing to consider this junk Mexican food. Even a place like El Chole (for mostly gringos) taste way better than this and that tell you something. I should of gone to In and Out instead. But let me tell you, I was heading back to Burrito Track but what do the people working there have anything to do with the food. It's this new owner that mess thing up. Cheaper quality of food but no problem raising the prices. As I was going back, across the street there is a taco stand serving you , you guess it, Street Taco!!!!!!!! I went there instead and guess what, it tasted very good. If you live around the area just go across the street to get you tacos or burritos. Cheaper and has a great taste. I will they had a Taco El Gordo BC here like they do in San Diego and Vegas. This place is awesome and it has the same taste as the ones in Tijuana. Or at least a King Taco, the meat is very well marinada. Unfornuately, this place stink and don't waste your hard earn money.
