We came here after a funeral service. I saw it on TikTok, and it looked so delicious. Let me tell you, it's like walking into someone's home! Very welcoming and friendly! The food was amazing, very flavorful, colorful, and served with grace. Our waiter was fantastic, and the owner was just amazing. He was extremely friendly and made sure everything was okay. The drinks were delicious, the Asada plate was wonderful, the meat was so tender and juicy, the chili relleno was different from what you think it would be, but also very delicious. They brought out the chips first, and they were great. The owner let us know everything was fresh and was flown in from Mexico, I believe he said Oaxaca.The guacamole is amazing! The service was awesome- our server was very polite & attentive. We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken as soon as we were seated. I ordered a cafe de olla which I did not like at all- I was surprised that no chips or salsa are provided but that's fine- I ordered Chilaquiles divoricados & my husband ordered Chilaquiles borrachos. My chilaquiles were not divorciados and looked like a plate of nachos. The chips were barely coated in red chili sauce. I added a steak to my plate and so the steak was maybe 3- 4 oz if even that. I'm not sure if my plate had black beans but if it did, it was like tablespoon- very skimpy serving but my main issue was the chilaquiles just so dry with barely any sauce- My husbands plate was very good as his chilaquiles came with mole sauce as he requested. Again, barely any beans and his chilaquiles also just had mole on the bottom of the chips? I guesss they make chilaquiles different here but I would nvr order these plates again. The mole sauce is super delicious so when we do return, we want to definitely try a mole plate. The food, ambiance, and mixed drinks are all great here. In my opinion, the food is authentic and full of flavor. They have dishes you don't find at every Mexican restaurant. Their moles are definitely worth trying. We've had the mole negro and the mole pipián, and both were delicious. The mole negro is a little sweeter, while the pipián has more spice. They also serve tortilla chips with mole, which is something I haven't seen at most Mexican restaurants. The reason I can't give 5 stars is because the service has been hit or miss. We've been here three times. The first time was shortly after they opened. The food tasted decent but came out cold, and the service wasn't the best. It was during the week and not very busy, so we figured they were still working out the kinks of being a new restaurant. After some time, we decided to give them another try. We went on a busy Friday night and were seated right away. The service was much better and everything seemed to be running more smoothly. We talked with the owner who was working as well as his wife who was bartending. They were both really friendly, and the owner seemed genuinely happy that we came back after we told him about our first experience. He even gave my husband a free beer after we moved to the bar to keep drinking after we finished our meals to allow for other guests to dine at the table we were. There was also a trio playing that night which added to the ambiance and was a nice way to end the work week. Our most recent visit was a couple of weeks ago for my husband's birthday. It was during the week and once again they were short-staffed. There was only one waitress taking care of the entire restaurant. She was so sweet and hustling the whole time but she was also bartending while serving every table. We definitely had to pack our patience because she was doing the best she could. Overall, Sol 626 has so much potential to be a great spot. The food, drinks, and atmosphere are what keep bringing us back. They need a little more staffing so the service can be as good as everything else. read more

Horchata was unmixed or bland because it was watered down. The Jamaica was the same. Carne asada, decent. Apps are ok but I was partial to the taquitos. Camarones come with the tail on. They look just like bagged Costco shrimp. Flavor is ok on the chips you get when you sit down. No salsa as this is a Oaxaca style spot. The mole drizzle on top is ok. The biggest issue is that the online web menu did not match what was available in the restaurant on a weekend. No tlayuda or huarache/sope or tacos even. Bizzare and not cool because when we arrived, we realized this and still decided to stay. So. Thats on us. Would not return. This place is cute inside and I could tell it wants to be trendy and cute. The music was loud and kinda clubbey but still not enough to make the food enjoyable. Alcohol drinks are very pretty, aesthetically. Waitresses also were not busy on a weekend at dinner time. This was our first time trying Sol 626. Walking in, we enjoyed the theme of the restaurant and all the photo worthy areas. Our server was attentive and informative. We ordered margaritas and the Mexican IPA. The margaritas and food were delicious. Each margarita had a cute garnish. The food was plated well but tasted even better. So to start, Sol 626 is BEAUTIFUL. The place is so nice and silly to say but usually I like to sit in booths but the chairs were so comfy. My friends and I went to Sol 626 for happy hour and like I said, the aesthetic is so nice. I'm not sure if it was remolded or what, but everything was so new. I got some nachos (sadly not pictured because I ate them so quick) with no meat but they were really good. My friends got some tacos de papa and they were good, not amazing but good. Now, I'm HUGE on service. Our server was nice but...kinda lagged. He did take our orders quick but after that, he kinda disappeared. It's like we had to go look for him, literally. This spot was soooooooo good it's always so hard to find a good Mexican spot when you are Mexican because nothing compares to moms cooking but this spot definitely hits home when you eat there. The food was amazing the ingredients tasted very fresh and authentic! Mole is one of my favorite Mexican foods so this spot definitely got it down. I recommend you visit and try anything on the menu. The ceviche was fire too. My mom really enjoyed the carne asada plate and my girlfriend enjoyed her barbacoa. The service was also so good and the owner took some of his time to talk to us and explain the love and care they put into the food which made so much sense from what I was tasting. I really liked the atmosphere here -- it had such a nice vibe. I overheard someone say they're normally not this busy, so they were kind of scrambling trying to make everything work, which honestly makes sense since it was Valentine's Day. I originally saw this place on TikTok, and my boyfriend decided to bring me here for V-Day They had a special Valentine's menu, which was really cool. There weren't any tacos, which my bf wanted, but realistically tacos aren't very Valentine's dinner vibes, so I think it was a smart move. They also had a super cute little photo op section in the back, which was such a fun touch. Food-wise, everything was really good. The mole chips were super unique and actually really good. The queso fundido was DELICIOUS -- like, no notes. The tlayuda was really good and would definitely order it again. The margarita was yummy. The enchiladas were also really good, and I was surprised by how much I liked the red sauce which normally I'm 100% for the green saice. First time here, I've heard so much about it and seen so many influencers promote this place. I'm not sure if I went on a bad day but the food and service wasn't what I expected. When walking in to the restaurant, it was very stuffy but we still sat down to eat. The chicken in the enchiladas was dry, so dry that the enchilada was tough to cut and for not being so busy the service was not very good. Had to ask for stuff multiple times. Went here with a friend. We got lucky with the parking because there was 2 spots open. They have live band Friday night and Sunday morning. If you're trying to go then... be prepared to park on the street. Very narrow spots. The inside is absolutely beautiful!! The lights, decor, seating, 10/10. Our drinks were really good too! Only reason 4/5 was because tlayuda I'm pretty picky about since I use to date someone Oaxacan. Although it should be crispy I think it was a bit tooo crispy (hard). However, the parking is very small (only one driveway to get in and out), and the portion that you get for the high price of the food is small. $33 for a small piece of carne asada meat, plus one taquito with rice and beans? I just found out that tortillas are not included. I was offered some handmade tortillas without being told that they charged four dollars for three handmade tortillas. I think the waiter should mention that before putting the order through. Overall, the food and ambience are decent to pretty good. However, the portion size to the cost of it is not so good. If you don't mind paying extra for these portions, then by all means come down. Since I have a family of four I won't be coming back anytime soon. For appetizers we ordered queso fundido and guacamole. The guacamole was really good and the queso fundido was ok. For our entrees I ordered the green mole enchiladas and my husband ordered the carne asada plate. I did not enjoy my enchiladas at all. They tasted very dry. It was just marinated shredded chicken breast in the tortilla and green mole on top. Usually enchiladas have cheese on top or inside the tortilla and sour creme. That combination was just too dry for me. My husband said the carne asada plate wasn't that great either. Came in for the first time on a Saturday night with a friend. The interior is very nice and seats are very comfortable. Our food was delivered very fast as well. There is plenty of rear parking so don't shy away from driving through the narrow driveway. You can enter the restaurant through the back door, so no need to walk to the front. This place looks really clean. You can tell there's been upgrades to the place . This place is big! It can easily fit 80 people? I like that it wasn't loud inside and service was great. I was here on 5 de Mayo and was surprised at how empty the place was. I started my evening with a shot of tequila and followed it with a plate of cochinita pibil. It took a while to get our drinks as well as our food. However, there was only one bartender and approximately 50 people inside. They greet u and plop a basket of thin crispy chips and what turned out to be.. mole.. i thought it was black beans.. maybe they shouldn't pour the mole on the chips.. some people dont like mole.. we dont.. its chocolate sauce with latin flavors.. I think it was roasted tomatoes.. i still dont know how I feel about it.. But my pallett wasn't expecting it.. So u need to know.. the Food is Oaxaca style and they have 5 Mole flavors But u can order other things not covered in mole. If you are like us.. and not i to mole.. We did not know this but we stayed and enjoyed the carne asada platter which my husband enjoyed .. I got taquitos. The service is extremely friendly.. but slow.. 25 minutes later we got the beverages we ordered. They do give u a neat presentation of bottles water and small drinking glasses.. unfortunately the tap water isnt the best in whittier.. I grew up here.. toss some lime in the water My food was too crunchy.. I couldn't eat it.. I ended up just eating the inside. Before I broke a tooth on that tasty tequito! I feel they should give u a choice on salsa.. perhaps bring a little salsa flight.. cus mole isnt what we expected. I knew this Mexican restaurant was going to be special even before I dined there for a special day - my brother's birthday! My family carpooled (and good thing we did because the on-site rear parking lot is small) and entered through the back door. Upon entering, we noticed the two thrones with a decorative back drop great for snapping a picture. Then, at the corner of my eye I saw a Colombian flag colors (it turns out one of the staff members is Colombian, like me!) and I felt at home already. The food/drink selection and service does not disappoint. All our dishes were hands down delicious. I got the mole rojo plate and passion fruit margarita and I could have licked my plate (if I didn't have manners that is; don't dare me please!) The prices are slightly higher than average but it's well worth every penny! I will be returning again to try the other items of the menu. Calling all Mole lovers out there! Sol 626 has only been about 10 months but I can see it's getting to be a very popular place! The service we received from Juan Carlos was so friendly and so willing to explain their sauces and tastes. He was a perfect waiter. They are very proud to serve two types of Mole, Dark and Coloradito. You get to sample them with the chips as they drizzle both on each side of the chips. I came to be partial to the Coloradito although the Dark was very yummy. We ordered their taquito appetizer, potato and chicken, with a side of the mole (cause it's so good!). The taquitos were freshly fried and really good. For my entree I had their Salmon en Salsa Poblana which was cooked to perfection & the sauce creamy and oh, so delicious! My hubby had their chicken enchiladas with both of the Pipian Verde & Pipian Rojo, he totally loved them! I had their Margarita Naranja Del Sur which was nice and strong and sooo good! Even their regular water was an infusion of lemon, basil, mint & orange. It was scrumptious in itself. They have live music on Fridays and we hope to find ourselves there soon to hear the Trio. We ended with their Butter Cake for dessert and this was TRULY a butter cake! We've had many at many places and this was honestly one of the best we've ever had!
