Never again. The order was wrong and the food wasn't good. The food was over salted and we didn't get enough sides.

It is a locally owned and operated coffee shop and restaurant serving specialty coffees, teas, refreshers, and sporting a nice menu with sandwiches, soups, great breakfasts, and some Mexican favorites. I decided I wanted to try their chilaquiles. I was trying to choose between red and green salsa, and the server suggested I could get half and half. So that's what I ordered, to be topped with an egg. She asked how I wanted the egg, to which I replied, "over medium" (whites done, yolks still mostly runny). To drink, I ordered sweet iced tea because they told me it was fresh brewed. The iced tea was old and cloudy. I could barely drink it. The chilaquiles were delicious, but the egg was very much well done. The egg was not that big a deal to me, but a coffee and tea shop ought to know that when iced tea gets cloudy, it has gone bad. Update: I found out their iced tea is not meant to be a Southern style American iced tea, but some kind of a Japanese presentation that the owner says is supposed to look cloudy... So that answers that; It's just not what I thought I was ordering. I wasn't going to say anything, but Siomara came to the table and asked how I was enjoying my meal.so I told her about the undrinkable iced tea. She immediately apologized and offered me a replacement drink. She also offered me a goodie from the dessert bar to make up for the overcooked egg. I chose to just get a replacement drink. I think the staff at Betuzas cares about their customers. They seem to do so many things well; the chilaquiles were great (bothe the red and the green). I would go again. I will just order a fruit refresher instead of their iced tea.

The two dishes I've had are important ones though (menudo and enchiladas), so I can say this place gets 2 thumbs up. Most of us locals remember this place as a gas station throughout the years. Someone finally decided to give this spot a repurposing into the town's favorite type of establishment, which is of course, a restaurant. Let's see if this one can last! It is supposed to be a seafood and Mexican spot, but I would just call it Mexican with some seafood. The food is no frills. It is however, full of flavor! I ordered the menudo for pick-up one Sunday and it was on point! $8 for a quart that is big enough for 2. Comes with all the fixings. My mom and I approved and will have it again. On another visit my friend and I tried the enchiladas special for $6.50. Soooo worth it. I would buy this plate at the regular price of $8, but on Wednesday's you won't have to. I had been craving a shrimp cocktail and tried a medium. I won't try it again. :( The shrimp are too big and the sauce is lacking some spice and definitely heat. Presentation was nice, but that was a waist of $10. Shame, since they try to pass themselves off as a seafood place. The place is nothing to brag about inside. The old coolers are now covered with pics of fish and I like it because I'm corny. :) I look forward to trying their other specials and maybe even some of the other fried seafood on the menu. Those big shrimp have to be better battered and fried. ;)
