Hubs ordered the Caldo- it was fresh & wholesome with the chayote, & carrots, & side of fresh red onion & cilantro. The corn tortillas are also homemade. The only reason I gave 4 stars vs 5 is because the waitress did not know the menu - though she was friendly she told us the caldo was chicken & when it came out, it was beef. Chips were overcooked and salsa lacked flavor. I ordered the burger and it wasn't much to talk about. My wife however had the taco salad with chicken and she said it was good. The prices are high for the portion size you get. Place was clean and service was really good. read more

Best Mexican joint in the area. Me and my wife just discovered this place and it's incredible!

Pretty authentic Mexican dining! Food was great, we got the tacos de asada y lengua and quesabirrias (which were served with consomé) . Everything was really good! They also tended to us 30 minutes before closing on Valentine's day, which every neighboring restaurant was packed and wasn't seating for the rest of the night. Service was amazing! Only con we could find about this restaurant was that there was a roach flying around . Its a nice sit down restaurant though, pretty good ambiance! read more

This place is the real deal. Coming from someone who grew up with a Mexican mom who cooked everyday, finding a restaurant around here that measured up has been nearly impossible...until now. The beans are right below my Mom's beans, that's how good they are. The young people working in there are so sweet and friendly. There is a bit of a language barrier but not enough to be an issue... they do have employees now that speak more English. The interior is simple. With food that good, they don't need a fancy setup. The folks who run this place were kind enough to travel 1500+ miles from around Acapulco, and they chose a location near the interstate. So don't tell me it's too far. My wife had three tacos in freshly fried shells, with rice and beans, for like $13. Freshly fried tacos! So don't tell me it's too expensive. I'm a vegetarian and I can't eat corn. And our server suggested several delicious options. They even have hamburgers and ham sandwiches for the unrepentantly gringo. So don't tell me there's nothing good for you here. I still frequent this place. This is the real deal. Friendly people, great food, and not too expensive. They have fantastic salsa and chips (gratis), ask for the salsa verde, and mix it with the Rojo. They still have the best Quesabirria in the area, hands down, no question! Stopped by as I was craving some authentic tamales and boy did they deliver. Was very good and plenty of food I asked for some chips and salsa and they gave me a very large bag chips and big cup of salsa for free. Overall Very happy to have an authentic Mexican restaurant in the twin cities definitely stop by and give them a try. read more

If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, this is the place for you. There may be a language barrier, but we used Google translate to get around that. We ordered a chicken nacho and tamale plate; it took about 20 mins to get the food and it was semi cold when it arrived . There were only 3 tables being served at the time. Nice place with amazing food! A must try is the Quesabrilla ! We went on a Monday and was actually packed for lunch. Had to wait a while for our food because staff was short handed but I don't think they expected to be that packed for lunch. Chips and salsa and Queso was come of the best around. read more

We were driving through from Florida to San Diego and decided to give this place a try, let me say as a Mexican and growing up with my mom's Mexican food this place is doing it right. Food was okay, but nothing special. We arrived around 11:30am, and there was no one in the place. The parking lot and front door were dirty, it no one had cleaned them. When we paid the bill, I just got a total...no actual bill. When I got the itemized bill, I found that we had a $1.75 surcharge for "ordering breakfast after 11:00am". I've traveled extensively in the US, and have NEVER seen that anywhere. The server did not say anything when we ordered, and the menu didn't say anything either.
