I do not normally write negative reviews but others deserve to know before visiting this particular establishment as it was pure chaos. We arrived with our softball team so we were expecting it to take longer that normal but the issues kept piling up. We called ahead to make reservation and the person on the phone told us they would be able to handle our party with no issue. They assigned us one waiter for a group of 30. It took nearly 40 minutes for some of us to get our drinks; i never received mine.. Some in our party decided to go to the bar at the rear of the establishment but complained of no service and fruit flies. The floors throughout the restaurant were slippery with an oil film. I was constantly getting drips of water from the AC vent above table. Food only came out after 2 hours when so.eone in our group opened kitchen door and said that surely something must be ready. Then they started scurrying with carts and trays. I ordered the pork street tacos but instead got chicken bits covered in sauce trying to pass for pork. Went I went to rear of restaurant they appeared to be more than enough waiters so I do not know why they only sent one. When we finally received our bill it was almost $80 for two adults and one child and that was after we argued that we did not get several of the items ordered. read more

I frequent this restaurant with my boyfriend and his family a few times a month. The margaritas are top tier and usually BOGO! My favorite is the fish tacos, and the servers always suggest different sauces to try on them. Last visit I branched out and got the President tacos, and it's a new go to for me. Thank goodness I convince my wife to go here regardless of the three stars rating. This place was awesome. We were traveling through from Texas to Atlanta, but I will tell you what, the Don Julio margarita fantastic, T-bone steak, nachos, baked taco salad, and fajitas, and tableside guacamole, all yummy yummy yummy. Taste was on point. Maybe some of the rating has to with the prices, A wee bit on the higher side however totally worth it. Well done El Jarrito. Very bad experience. Started out OK with a large basket of chips and salsa. I also ordered queso dip which was good. Only two waitresses and one was also the cashier and the place was pretty full for evening meal. They were run pretty hard. But the food! Ugh. I ordered a Trio Wrap and my wife ordered salmon with mango salad. The waitress did tell us the meal would take a little longer due to cooking the salmon. It came in a reasonable amount of time but the salmon was way overcooked, dry and almost hard. My wrap only had a few strips of steak, a few shrimp and hardly any chicken with a little lettuce and a few onions. No guacamole, no sour cream, no pico, no sauce at all. It was barely warm and dry as a bone. The tortilla was dry and actualy hard to cut with a knife. I pointed out to the waitress there was no guacamole or sour cream and she said "yes there is, but I will bring you more". After pouring some salsa over it and spooning guacamole and sour cream it was edible, but cold. The waitress never came back to check on us and we waited a good 10 -15 minutes after we finished eating for her to show up. We asked for the check and when she brought it she told us, over her shoulder as she was walking away, to pay up front. (and she was the cashier) Way understaffed and the quality of the food was horrible. And then there was a 10.45% tax added! Wow! Not a good experience. read more

We visited this restaurant today for a late lunch/early supper with a group of 9 people. We all ordered meals priced $10+ and 2 large cheese dips. We had 4 baskets of chips prior to the meal and asked for additional chips. He brought out 3 baskets, then told us that it would be an additional charge for more chips and salsa. Then he made up a rule of 2 baskets of chips for one cheese dip and 3 baskets of chips per table. You can tell he made it up on the spot. We got our ticket and they had 3-$3 charges for steak added to our bill on top of the menu item. We ordered steak fundido that was listed for $11 on the menu. They proceeded to tell us that they had a sign in the lobby about this additional fee. We did not see the sign due to 7 of the 9 people in our group walking from the parking lot straight to the patio without going through the lobby. The menu did not mention anything about an additional fee for steak. The menu stated the price that we saw. We asked the waiter about the charge and he said it is posted in lobby. I told him that we never saw it due to it not being posted at the patio entrance. He took it to a lady who came back and was basically that is the way it is. I said no, the price needs to be fixed. This is false advertising. After a long wait, they finally fixed the ticket. This is not the first bad experience I have had at this restaurant. I highly recommend that you go to the Mexican restaurant next to Academy for (Don Chuy) for a better experience and better food. This is my last visit to El Jarrito. read more

My husband and I went to this place. Every dish we were served with was not clean. From the previous reviews, we thought the place would be awesome. However, we did not get the opportunity to taste the food due to the uncleanliness. The bowls had dried food and a used straw wrapping attached to the bottom, as if they were washed and dried with that on there. The cute little salsa pitcher had a greenish film that you could scrap off with your finger. Even the chip basket had some unknown substance all over it. We had to get out of there. They brought me a chicken enchilada with rice. The chicken was cold, very chewy and had no flavor at all. My brother never got to order so it took me well over 10 mins to flag down anyone and when I finally got a little ladies attention I asked her if he could order and if my friend could have his cup of water that he had already asked for three different times she laughed at me and walked off. Came back to try it out for the second time. The food was all right, same flavors and menu as so many other Mexican restaurants. The chicken for the fajitas was rubbery. My waiter was attentive, but the other staff stood and waited for work, this didn't sit well with me when I walked in and waited a few minutes to be sat at a table ( there were only 2 others occupied), while they stared at me waiting for someone else to seat me.... at least they could hide in the kitchen.
