    Quezabirra strawberry agua Fresca

Got two quezabirria orders, two aguas frescas and was charged a total of $55.12. Did the math after(~44 no tax) and it doesn't add up. Not sure where the additional upcharge came from, perhaps because we're not locals, but future customers beware!! Food was good, but probably won't come back.

    Asada Taco and Pastor Taco

Never disappointed with the food here! The auga frescas are excellent as well! Service is always great very respectful!!

Made a pit stop during our 9 hour road trip from Houston to Amarillo in Waco, TX and being from South Florida I knew that I would finally be able to find authentic birria tacos in Texas since Mexican cuisine isn't as big in Florida. My friend googled birria tacos and found this gem which to my surprise was not on Yelp. I ordered the quesabirria tacos and they tasted just as good as they looked. With a delicious Smokey and spicy flavor and cheesy goodness I died and went to heaven with these tacos. My friend ordered the tacos al pastor and she said by far they were the most authentic. These tacos were so good that on the way back from our road trip we made a stop back here again for a mother round of tacos and of course I had to let me fellow yelpers know about this hidden gem.

    Menu

Friendly service, tasty food, good prices. Stand is in the parking lot of Israel's Stop & Go. I tried the quesatacos, asada, and al pastor tacos - they were are tasty, but the quesatacos were my favorite. Quesatacos are what others call birria tacos - these were slightly spicy and left me wishing I'd ordered more of them. Maybe because we only ordered two they didn't give any sauce to dip the birria tacos into? Regardless, they were delicious. FYI- On 04/15/21 there was a sign posted that stated they are closed Mondays.

Birra tacos, pastor tacos, chicken torta, cooked onions, and Horchata!

Simply the best tacos in Waco. Their Al pastor can't be beat. You also won't be waiting too long.

The waitress was sweet, but remained slow throughout the entire meal. Our waitress never offered drink refills, and we waited extended periods for a to-go box and our check before finally going to the cashier ourselves. The biggest issue was a strong sewage-like odor coming from the restroom area. We were seated nearby, and every time the bathroom doors opened, the smell drifted into the dining room. Even the handwashing station in the dining area had the same unpleasant odor. The food looked great when it arrived, and the chips and salsa seemed fresh. However, I was disappointed to learn they no longer serve guacamole with their fajitas. The chicken fajitas arrived sizzling hot, but became very dry as they cooled. They were spicy, but lacked much flavor. The rice and beans were good. Overall, between the slow service, unpleasant smell, and mediocre food, I would not return or recommend this restaurant. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in Waco that I'd try before coming back here.

There's so much seasoning on them that you don't get to appreciate the salsa because the chips are overpowering.. A restaurant with this type of quality needs to have chips that are made in house without anything other than salt.

Fun place - and sour cream chicken enchiladas are to die for!!…read more Decor : Absolutely a nice and clean TexMex environment. Charming spaces and tables are not too close together. Music is softly playing in the background. The bar is large with three TVs. Very warm and inviting. Score: 10 out of 10 Chips: Chips are medium thickness, unsalted, very nice. Score: 7.5 out of 10 Salsa: Salsa has a beautiful traditional tomato based flavor medium on the spicing and low heat - flavorful. Score: 9 out of 10 Chicken Quesadilla w/ onions & peppers: Skip this one. The chicken is absolutely bone dry, tough, and overcooked. The peppers and onions are beautifully sautéed al dente and the cheese veg and meat ratios are proportional. Score: 2 out of 10 Guacamole: Very nice, but had bit of saltiness to the point I could not enjoy it. (Note: I also don't use much salt myself, so the average person may not even notice it.) Score: 2 out of 10 Beef Enchilada with chili con Carne sauce: Good portion. Meat is moist, not greasy, but also not seasoned very much. The chili carne sauce was nice but had a bit of sweetness (possibly sugar added). Was enjoyable, but not outstanding. Score: 7 out of 10 Sour Cream Chicken Enchilada: Amazing! Outstanding! Absolutely get some! The chicken is extremely moist, absolutely perfect seasoning with just a gentle hint of heat. The sauce has a beautiful tang from the sour cream and the correct consistency. Good portion. Can't wait to come back and have them again. Score: 10 out of 10 Server (CiCi) Absolutely wonderful. Very attentive refresh my drink without me asking for it and very courteous. Score: 10 out of 10 Overall Score: 7.5 But for the guacamole and quesadilla issues, score would be 9 out of 10. DEFINITELY go for the Sour Cream Enchiladas!!!! I'll be back for those!

Thought we'd give it a try seeing as it was 10 minutes off I-35. Found the small place and it was exactly what we were looking for! The chips and salsa was super tasty, the half and half tea was on point, and you can't go wrong with a Mexican coke! Ordered the cheese enchiladas plate and the wife got a quesadilla. We were pleasantly satisfied and they hit the spot. Tbh though, the beans and rice won my heart being so flavorful and delicious. The service was superb and I appreciated their thoughtfulness of checking on us to make sure we were doing ok. All in all, we highly recommend you visit them if you're in the area, we got a table quick around 7 pm and it was a quaint epic time! Try it soon and you won't regret!

Their homemade chips are light and crispy, and their salsa is super flavorful while not overly spicy. It hits that happy medium between my husband and me. Breakfast is also great. You go in and pretty much grab a table unless there's a line with people waiting. Service is always friendly and efficient. Prices are fair. Typical mom and pop type interior with a mixture of booth seating and tables with metal chairs. It's always clean. Branch out and try something new. Highly recommend.
