My friend recommended this place since she works next door and I was pleasantly surprised with how amazing the food is! I got 4 street tacos at $2.50 each they were $10 of the fastest and well prepared tacos I've found anywhere outside of Tijuana! I got buche, carnitas, asada, and al pastor. Each one was amazing, so juicy. I also had the piña agua fresca in a large and that was also yummy. Not too sweet. The couple things I'd recommend is; a better salsa bar. They give you squeeze bottles of green, dark red and light red salsas but I like picking my own along with limes and they didn't have pickled jalapeño, onions or carrots. They recently added outdoor seating with cement and tile tables/chairs but in the summer it's too hot. So I Highly recommend getting umbrellas or shade sails for people to enjoy it outside. Also some music, it was pretty dead inside at 3p on a Friday and they had the Latino news on. The staff was super friendly and very nice. Extremely attentive and brought my food to me when it was ready. I asked for the XX Hot sauce and was warned that it was VERY hot. I got to my hotel and started with the tacos. The lengua was good, not exceptionally full of flavor, but not overly greasy. The XX Hot sauce was very spicy, but had the most flavor of the red, green, or XX Hot. Honestly only one worth using. The chicken was shredded, and extremely dry unfortunately. Also towards the end of the taco (3-4 bites) there was a chicken bone. At least they use the real stuff! The burrito was bland. It had beans, meat, sour cream, and the rest all kind of blended together. I don't want to be against the place, but I can't be overly happy. The horchata is the best ive ever had always tastes amazing and the el pastor tacos are my favorite so delicious prices are great but the chips and guacamole its ok tasting is a bit overpriced for what you get in my opinion you dont get enough chips. Wanted to do a surprise retirement party for a coworker at work. I loved the tacos here and thought let me look online and see if they have any deals on them. I look them up and find this photo since there is no menu to look at that says the menu price for 20 tacos is $29.99. I'm like not too bad so I go the next day to get two orders and get this total. I'm like wait a minute maybe there is a language barrier and he thought I ordered double but no the photo that's on there is "old" and no accommodation at all gotta get your own limes and stuff still if the price that high and not updated online at least hook me up with the sauces and limes. I love getting asada tacos and some good salsa. You have four options for salsa-- and they even have recommendations on each of them as far as what type of meat to pair them up with. I was early for an appointment close by and I decided to stop and have a small meal. Lucky me! I had two barbacoa tacos and one lengua taco. Folks I am not kidding these are the real deal. These were some of the best tacos I have had in the Truckee meadows. Forget the ambiance, it is neo non-descript with a few tables and a drive-thru. Very well prepared tacos with lots of meat filling, onions and cilantro. Tacos are priced beginning at $1.99 My soft drink was more expensive than any of my tacos. Omg...I'm wondering why we never ate here before. It's pure deliciousness! We were feeling like having Tacos so we decided to see what location others were raving about and we ended up at Taconazo. We got some carne asada tacos, a asada burrito, a sopé with barbacoa and shared a horchata to drink. First off the horchata was perfect with just the right amount of cinnamon. Yum! Then when I took a bite of the sope I literally started dancing in my seat it was so good. Perfect corn masa crunch topped with shredded beef lettuce, tomato and queso. The meat was tender and seasoned just right. The asada meat is awesome too, it has a flame broiled taste to it. My husband was able to get down 5 of them, that's how good it was. Have you ever wanted to walk thru a drive thru? I know as a kid, before we could drive, we'd always try only to be told to buzz off. Well, thanks to COVID, you can do that here because the drive-thru is open but the dining room is not! So that's what we did today. I had some business nearby and swung in here for a quick bite. Standing in front of the menu and ordering through the intercom while knowing the lady inside could see and hear us less than 100yds away was hilarious, but an experience I won't soon forget. We ordered lengua, carnitas and surtida (means mix and has carnitas, buche/pig stomach, and cueritos/pork skin) tacos, a bean and cheese burrito, and a Gordita with chicarron con salsa roja and everything was fire! The salsa roja on the chicharron was spicy in all the right ways. I love that I've been finding taquerias that do salsa roja with more flavor than just roasted chili de arbol. I will come back for this Gordita again. The surtida was also delicious. The mix may sound scary, but the mix of textures is magically delicious. I recently tried this elsewhere and fell in love. When I saw it on the menu it was a no brainer. They gave us three salsas to try too, each one super unique and unlike any others I've had in the community. So freaking good. No pics because the food came in tin foil and was gone before it even crossed my mind. This was the worst Mexican food I've ever had, and I lived in South Texas for 35 years and ate a LOT of Mexican food. I ordered a plate with a cheese enchilada, tostado, and beef taco. The tortillas for all three were about 5 inches in diameter. The enchilada had 1 teaspoon of cheese in it. The meat in the taco was gristly and inedible, and the refried beans were cold and runny, so that made the 5-inch tostada cold. And for all this, they charged me $11.79. I would give them zero stars if I could. Definitely will never go back. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Yelp came in clutch with finding the closest taqueria and before I knew it I was in the drive through. The menu looked fantastic and after reading the reviews online I knew the tacos were the popular choice but again, I needed a burrito. Carne asada was the choice! Initial thoughts of the burrito before the first bite..it was smaller than I expected but the tortilla had a perfect golden brown. After getting into it, the tortilla ended up being the best part. The asada had great seasoning but the grease was overpowering. I couldn't taste the lettuce, tomato (slice), or sour cream. I'm hoping this was a one off. Needless to say, not my favorite burrito. When you approach the outside not in the best location and does not look appealing from outside but they always say don't judge a book by it's cover. Parking is small but doable. Yummy Carne asada tacos , I tried 2 each of carnitas, carne asada and chicken and would definitely recommend the carne asada. The chicken was totally bland unseasoned and not grilled with no flavor at all served like a gringo/American taco with lettuce and tomato- lame and forgettable. Both carnitas and carne asada were prepared like traditional authentic street tacos with onions and cilantro. The carnitas lacked any real flavor and wasn't crispy, I guess crispy flavorful carnitas is more common in California because you just don't find it in Nevada, it's just crock pot pulled pork with minimal flavor. The carne asada was tender and tasty. I love the salsas, beware because the medium is equivalent to most taquerias hot , the hot is hotter than most I've ever had and the extra hot is fire!!! X hot might be a little too hot , kinda dominates the other flavors to where you can't taste anything else, but it's good and I couldn't resist. Try the carne asada tacos with the hot salsa and you won't be disappointed. Final grades carne asada =A, carnitas =B-, Chicken = C-. Salsas=A . Nice that they have self serve radishes, limes and house made pickled veggies to balance out the meal and cleanse the palate. These have been some of my favorite street tacos for years! You get authentic tacos at a great price! Last night we attempted the drive thru and learned that it has closed since the lobby reopened. We got a total of 10 tacos for just over $22! I got Al Pastor, my boyfriend got a variety of chicken, asada and carnitas. We got the tacos to go and devoured them quickly at home. My only complaint, which is easily rectified, was not enough salsa for the to-go orders. We only got one container of three different house salsas for 10 tacos.
