Decided to go in with a friend on tacos and we landed on Cielito Lindo both for location and the positive reviews. I'm always leery about trying a new taco place because there are just sooo many good and consistent spots in town, why chance a possible bad meal? Well I'm glad we did because those tacos didn't last more than 5 min. I got the 3 tacos combo plate and my buddy got carnitas with some consommé. Meal comes with a scoop of beans and rice and(my favorite) grilled onions and jalapeños. Wish my friend told me he was getting his without because I would have totally eaten his too. I came into Cielito Lindo in Lemmon Valley on August 13th and unfortunately left pretty disappointed with the customer service. The woman working the counter was smiling, friendly, and having a warm conversation in Spanish with the customers directly before me. When it was my turn, I greeted her warmly, but the entire demeanor changed. No smile, no friendly conversation, just handed me my food and didn't even offer salsa or anything else. I'm not expecting anyone to roll out the red carpet for me, but the difference in how I was treated compared to the customers immediately before me was noticeable enough that it felt uncomfortable. The funny and honestly sad part is that my wife is Mexican, so Mexican culture and food are a big part of our family. I would have loved to make this a place we came back to regularly. You would think a local restaurant would want every customer who walks through the door to feel equally welcome, especially when there are so many other places people can choose to spend their money. There are taco spots, and then there are taquerías that remind you why simple food done well never goes out of style. From the first bite, you can tell the recipes come from tradition rather than trends. The tortillas were fresh, the meats were perfectly seasoned, and every topping from the cilantro and onions to the house made salsas let the flavors shine instead of covering them up. Nothing felt overcomplicated or watered down. Just honest, well executed Mexican food that speaks for itself. The portions were generous, the staff was welcoming, and the whole experience felt like the kind of neighborhood place you hope never changes. We are a big fan of Celito Lindo. We frequent the one on lemon valley. Unfortunately we paid $15.25 for a 3 taco el compadre combo dinner and was sorely disappointed. As you can see from the picture, the tacos were barely 1/2 full. Maybe 2 oz of meat for each taco and a tablespoon of beans and rice. Nowhere near $15 worth of food. This is pretty horrible compared to the one on Lemon. The flavor was good so that the 2 stars. But no way will we ever come back here. Very sad that there's no consistency between the two restaurants. The toolbox is small and still looks empty. We feel cheated. $15 for a tablespoon of rice and beans and a few ounces of meat. I used to really love this place the birria tacos were amazing but I ordered tonight and everything was sub par. The prices are astronomical 5$ for one taco?! Crazy but yet I got the meal and when I opened the container I had ordered double beans I got maybe one and a half beans not filled all the way disappointing so I taste them and it tasted like cinnamon like if they splashed some of my horchata into the beans not good. Then I move on to the salsa I had to pay a $1 extra for and the containers of those aren't filled all the way either. So yeah I ended up spending $30 on one meal which was not all that good. Let me start by saying I like their food. If you like authentic Mexican food I think this is the place. Although it can be greasy. My husband wanted Mexican food so we stop here. It's has a lot of room and also an outside patio. You order and pay at the bar, they'll bring it to you when it's done. After we placed our order I wanted to use the restroom to wash my hands. They told me that their bathroom wasn't working. Really??? So I asked if they had a place to wash my hands and the young lady let me use the sink behind the bar. Weird. I stopped by after a hike and I was starving. I ordered 2 taco combos which included 3 tacos and a side of rice and beans. I liked that you can mix and match the kinds of meat you want for your order so I got chicken, asada, and pastor. I also got a large Jamaica aqua fresca. The order took about 10 minutes to come out, but I don't mind the wait for quality and flavorful food. The girl who served it walked away fast after dropping it at our table and then about 10 minutes later came back to our table and took the plate back saying "this actually wasn't for you guys". We then watched her take it from our table to the other table who ordered it, after it had been served to us first and touched. The other people noticed and sent it back, rightfully so. Incredibly spiced food (just the right amount), fast and friendly service and nachos that are loaded and perfect to share. However, the true star of the dining experience is the Compadre Noodles. A full (32 ounce) bowl of consommé and a delicious and generous amount of Birria des Res sprinkled with cilantro and green onion. It's exactly the meal needed on a Spring Day that's chilly with snow flurries. Next time, if our weather cooperates it'll be warmer, and I plan to try those Cielito Fries -- carne asada, nacho cheese, tomato, sour cream and avocado sauce. read more

Pretty decent food! This is an order at the counter and get a number type of establishment. Lots of seating and many of the tables are pushed together for a family style dining option. Employees were really friendly as well. I ordered regular chicken taco as well as one of their speciality tacos. The green sauce was really good and tasted very fresh! I did visit the bathroom. To be honest, I was underwhelmed when I walked in to the restaurant. I had heard good things about the food though, so I was in it to win it. Ordering is easy, it is counter service and the menus are easy to read. The wait was only 10 minutes or so, a little longer than I expected, but it was worth it. I ordered Pastor tacos and they were awesome! The pork was crispy, but still moist and flavorful. They are topped with diced onion and cilantro, and served with roasted onion and a jalapeno on the side. An unexpected surprise was a small side of consume for dipping. I ordered 3 and it was enough for a modest dinner. I could have eaten at least 2 more, but I figure its better to leave wanting more. There isn't really much for ambiance, its brightly lit with music playing a little too loud. On a nice weather day it would be great to sit outside on the front patio. read more

My first time in here at Cielito Lindo, the line was only about a 2 minute wait the service was excellent and I got to say the food was extremely good my sister ordered the goat burrito it was so tender and delicious and I ordered the shrimp tostada I loved it they have authentic rice and beans just like I love it we had our beverages horchata, we love ordering that and it was just as delicious. The burritos are huge can only eat like a fourth of it took the rest home for dinner we really liked it. The food we ordered was good and worth the wait as it was prepared fresh. There is ample amount of seating and tvs for the game you wish to watch. Service was fast and friendly. Authentic Mexican are the words that come to mind when you walk into Cielito Lindo. Recommended by friend, we visited the location on Kings Row/North Mc Carran. The location is bright and festive, with the staff ready to serve. There was line when we were there, always a good sign (other than the wait). I ordered the El Compadre Combo, which included 3 Birria Tacos, Consume, Rice and Beans. The Birria Tacos were crispy and delicious. I upgraded for the Quesobirria Taco. A must do. My wife had the Asada Plate, which featured their amazing Arrachera Beef. A surprise with this dish were the (what looked like homemade) tortillas. We are SO grateful we found Cielito Lindo for our wedding weekend catering. From start to finish, Eddie was an absolute joy to work with... communicative, flexible, and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Stopped by this place in Reno during a work trip with some coworkers - more of a pitstop than a destination. First impression - super clean interior and genuinely friendly staff. Our family went with several ala care tacos with asada and cheese, several Compadre El Compadre Tacos with birria and cheese, a Margarita Tower, and water. NO COMPLAINTS. I got the birria, chicken and shrimp taco that came in the combo plate with beans and rice and the were simply Incredible. The shrimp may have been my favorite but they were all so good. And I washed it all down with a mango margarita! They also offer a free churro for tagging them in an instagram post - SAY LESS. I've been wanting to try Cielito for a while now and found an opportunity to stop in. Everywhere has an off night, and I'm hoping this was just one of theirs. The staff was very unfriendly, borderline rude, and the food was dry and not very flavorful. We did enjoy our Paloma's and chips and salsa and the space is actually perfect for being able to hang out with friends. I'm glad I waited to write this review. This is my third time trying Cielito Lindo over the span of a two years. The first time I had it, the consomé was very thin and lacked depth. I saw the newer yelp reviews about how good the ramen was and it's been cold and rainy. The birria ramen was a dream come true, the consomé was rich and flavorful, the limes brighten the broth. I tried a shrimp taco and it was good but I'll pass next time. My fiancé got the tacos and you can never go wrong with that. We decided to dine in, the service was nice, good food takes time so we waited. I love the art on the wall and how casual it is. A lot of dashers come in and out. read more
