We are a big fan of Celito Lindo. We frequent the one on lemon valley. Unfortunately we paid $15.25 for a 3 taco el compadre combo dinner and was sorely disappointed. As you can see from the picture, the tacos were barely 1/2 full. Maybe 2 oz of meat for each taco and a tablespoon of beans and rice. Nowhere near $15 worth of food. This is pretty horrible compared to the one on Lemon. The flavor was good so that the 2 stars. But no way will we ever come back here. Very sad that there's no consistency between the two restaurants. The toolbox is small and still looks empty. We feel cheated. $15 for a tablespoon of rice and beans and a few ounces of meat. I used to really love this place the birria tacos were amazing but I ordered tonight and everything was sub par. The prices are astronomical 5$ for one taco?! Crazy but yet I got the meal and when I opened the container I had ordered double beans I got maybe one and a half beans not filled all the way disappointing so I taste them and it tasted like cinnamon like if they splashed some of my horchata into the beans not good. Then I move on to the salsa I had to pay a $1 extra for and the containers of those aren't filled all the way either. So yeah I ended up spending $30 on one meal which was not all that good. Let me start by saying I like their food. If you like authentic Mexican food I think this is the place. Although it can be greasy. My husband wanted Mexican food so we stop here. It's has a lot of room and also an outside patio. You order and pay at the bar, they'll bring it to you when it's done. After we placed our order I wanted to use the restroom to wash my hands. They told me that their bathroom wasn't working. Really??? So I asked if they had a place to wash my hands and the young lady let me use the sink behind the bar. Weird. I stopped by after a hike and I was starving. I ordered 2 taco combos which included 3 tacos and a side of rice and beans. I liked that you can mix and match the kinds of meat you want for your order so I got chicken, asada, and pastor. I also got a large Jamaica aqua fresca. The order took about 10 minutes to come out, but I don't mind the wait for quality and flavorful food. Incredibly spiced food (just the right amount), fast and friendly service and nachos that are loaded and perfect to share. However, the true star of the dining experience is the Compadre Noodles. A full (32 ounce) bowl of consommé and a delicious and generous amount of Birria des Res sprinkled with cilantro and green onion. It's exactly the meal needed on a Spring Day that's chilly with snow flurries. Next time, if our weather cooperates it'll be warmer, and I plan to try those Cielito Fries -- carne asada, nacho cheese, tomato, sour cream and avocado sauce. read more

Pretty decent food! This is an order at the counter and get a number type of establishment. Lots of seating and many of the tables are pushed together for a family style dining option. Employees were really friendly as well. I ordered regular chicken taco as well as one of their speciality tacos. The green sauce was really good and tasted very fresh! I did visit the bathroom. It's a very popular/busy restaurant, especially at dinner time and on Fridays and Saturdays so it's best to order online for takeout. To be honest, I was underwhelmed when I walked in to the restaurant. I had heard good things about the food though, so I was in it to win it. Ordering is easy, it is counter service and the menus are easy to read. The wait was only 10 minutes or so, a little longer than I expected, but it was worth it. I ordered Pastor tacos and they were awesome! The pork was crispy, but still moist and flavorful. They are topped with diced onion and cilantro, and served with roasted onion and a jalapeno on the side. An unexpected surprise was a small side of consume for dipping. I ordered 3 and it was enough for a modest dinner. I could have eaten at least 2 more, but I figure its better to leave wanting more. There isn't really much for ambiance, its brightly lit with music playing a little too loud. On a nice weather day it would be great to sit outside on the front patio. read more

The burritos are huge can only eat like a fourth of it took the rest home for dinner we really liked it. The location is bright and festive, with the staff ready to serve. There was line when we were there, always a good sign (other than the wait). I ordered the El Compadre Combo, which included 3 Birria Tacos, Consume, Rice and Beans. The Birria Tacos were crispy and delicious. I upgraded for the Quesobirria Taco. A must do. We are SO grateful we found Cielito Lindo for our wedding weekend catering. From start to finish, Eddie was an absolute joy to work with... communicative, flexible, and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Stopped by this place in Reno during a work trip with some coworkers - more of a pitstop than a destination. First impression - super clean interior and genuinely friendly staff. I'm glad I waited to write this review. This is my third time trying Cielito Lindo over the span of a two years. The first time I had it, the consomé was very thin and lacked depth. I saw the newer yelp reviews about how good the ramen was and it's been cold and rainy. The birria ramen was a dream come true, the consomé was rich and flavorful, the limes brighten the broth. I tried a shrimp taco and it was good but I'll pass next time. My fiancé got the tacos and you can never go wrong with that. The food was not good! There was no flavor it was burnt they said they have stuff then didn't give it to us and want $2.00 for a little thing of sour cream. I got a margarita that tasted like old alcohol. My husband got a Michelada. He said it tasted like soap with perfume sprayed on it I got a steak fajita that had Lil to no cooked vegetables rice it didn't even taste like Mexican rice with beans and they were both super cold.Then we proceeded to ask for a manager and luckily us no manager. Seating has expanded for this Taco shop. Heard it was smaller and the line was out the door. We had a large party of about 10 people and sat comfortably. So they have enough space now. We ordered the Birria tacos and asada fries. They also have a combo for the Birria. Either way the tacos were nice and juicy and crunchy at the same time. One of the best we had in reno. The fries had a lot of cheese. Nacho and Mexican cheese. Super delicious. I would say I most likely get the Birria tacos when I come. This taqueria is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall right off Kings Row. There is plenty of parking in a big lot shared by all the businesses in the strip mall. They have a small patio that is decorated with cute string lights. The inside is more spacious than I expected. They have some cool murals on the wall, I especially liked the bright colored one of Our Lady of Guadalupe! You order up at the counter then your food is brought out to you. After reading some other reviews, I had to try the birria tacos. I got the quesabirria ones since they came with cheese. I did the El Compadre Combo which came with three tacos, rice, and beans; it came out to around $18. Plus I got a peach margarita with a tajin rim! It felt like the wait was a little bit long for an order-at-the-counter place but it was not too bad. The combo ended up being a ton of food, it was hard for me to finish it all. The tacos were delicious! I loved the birria, especially when dipped in the sauce and spicy salsa. My friend got 3 different flavors and thought they were all so good. The rice was a little bland but I thought it was good mixed with the beans and spicy salsa. I was impressed at my margarita, it was actually better than I expected. My friend got a horchata and that was really good too! Despite not being a sit-down restaurant, different workers did still come by to check on us and see if we needed anything which was nice. There have been multiple times where other people overhear me suggesting Cielito Lindo and they always agree! You definitely get full off of these tacos! I had some family from LA in town when we ordered takeout and they were surprised at how good everything was! That is saying a lot since they have so many good food options down in LA. There were enough options for the whole family. We ordered a plain quesadilla for a picky eater and we ended up passing around a piece for everyone to try since it was so good! The cheese was nicely melted and the tortilla was cooked perfectly! Another crowd favorite were the flautas! The outside had a perfect crunch while the inside encompassed a perfectly seasoned and moist chicken mixture. Another big plus to ordering takeout from here is all of the extras you get with it. The grilled onions and jalapeños are a perfect compliment to all of the entrees.
