When I come out to Reseda, I tend to come back to this spot. It's a little hole in the wall. They always greet you and are friendly. As soon as you sit and order they give you chips with beans on top and their green sauce for free ! The food is well seasoned. I've had the carne asada tacos plate and their burritos. The burritos are pretty big! I do recommend for them to have more variety of salsas. They currently have one kind of salsa. read more

Today I stopped by el tapatío after doing some laundry. Went in wanting a burrito de asada but I wanted them to add shrimp as well but that was not going to happen due to being informed that adding shrimp will be an additional $20 plus the cost of the burrito $13 a total of $35 for a asada burrito with shrimp added I said heck no and went with the shrimp taco which was very bland no flavor nothing I did add some chipotle from home to give it some taste other than that no flavor it taste at all !! I ordered the shrimp taco, which was really really good, but I think I like it more without cheese for a started they gave me nachos and beans, which was really tasty. This is a little hole in the wall place that is excellent. We had tacos Al pastor and carne asada tacos as well as a carne asada burrito supreme. Tacos are typical small size - meat, onion, cilantro and some green salsa. Recommend 3 per person - the are pretty generous with the amount of meat in each one. If you eat in the restaurant (counter seating), they'll give you a complimentary small basket of chips with some beans and green salsa on top - delicious! It's a very small shop with about 4 seats inside and a table outside. The food was really good and portions were generous. Places like this is what makes LA food scene so amazing!!!! Will decently be back there and it's 3 minute drive from Tapanga mall. Plenty of street parking. read more

UNDERRATED!!! this is a GEM location the food is very delicious. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito and some Menudo. Some of the reviews are older so let me clear things out. They do take Apple Pay and debit and credit card also Menudo is not only served on Sundays, but on Saturdays the weekend is for Los crudos. I went in the morning and there was not really a line so get there early. My wife found this this restaurant She drove by it and saw the line was long like the Indiana Jones ride lol so the food must be GOOD!. Really nice people. OMG, no matter where we travel these are the best tacos in the world. This place is our barometer for tacos when we are traveling. This is what we aspire to find, but rarely do. So we always go home to our old neighborhood and our first stop is Taqueria El Tapatio. I love how they chop up the meat and then sear it on the flat top until it has crispy bits on it. Then they top it with their amazing Salsa Verde, onions, and cilantro. I love the chips, beans and salsa they serve with each order that you eat in. It cannot be beat. My daughter had two performances at the Taxco Theater. She had about 45 minutes between shows. She was hungry and I found Taqueria El Tapatio was right around the corner. This place is a hole in the wall. I would have driven right by this establishment. Inside is maybe 6 barstools at a counter. This is definitely a take out spot. The kitchen area is very clean. I ordered 3 carnitas , 2 lengua, and 2 al pastor tacos. The food was cooked quickly. The tacos were topped with cilantro, onions and salsa. Once back at the theater everyone had a taco. I had a carnitas taco. The meat was seasoned well. The meat had some crunchy, bits, some squishy bits and it was a really good. The salsa has great flavor, with a little kick of heat. If we are in the area again, I would definitely return. No pictures this time because we all scarfed down our delicious food. read more

Just happened to be in the area and after reading the yelp reviews, my husband and I decided to stop here for some quick food. We got a carne asada burrito and it was really good. Plus she grabs the chips with her bare hands after handling money without washing them prior to. The guys that used to work here many many years ago were very very nice. Rating this place based on the following: price, quality, dining and sanitation. Spoilers - place is cheap, but go at your own risk. Price - easiest 5 star rating I can give. They are a really competitive location with very affordable prices. Under $2 per taco and burritos are more standard. Quality - 3.5 stars. Docking points mainly on the fact that everything is pre-cooked and just being warmed up later. E.g. the pastor is not on a shawarma grill, but taken out to be reheated. Aside from that, the meat is pretty average. Dining... honestly it's a takeout store. It's structured like a bar but even pre-covid, it's easy to see that many people don't eat the food there. There's just not enough seats for a fast-paced restaurant like this. Hence, 1 star. Sanitation is a 1 star. Workers do not have masks or gloves on. They use the same hands to cook, plate food, exchange cash and use their register. In the times that I have went, I haven't seen a single worker sanitize their hands. Go at your own risk. I still went because it reminded me of good old taco trucks on the street. read more

What a find! A small place off the Main Street, but worth it. Came here based on a Yelp search and was not disappointed. Was hankering for a burrito and I got a great one. Had the carne asado burrito and they made it right away with all of the fixin's Two guys were inside and they helped us with the menu and our burritos were quickly cooked and served. The food and service are great. The place is small, and the A/C does work well, so it can be very hot if you eat in. I was happily surprised by how good the burritos were here. As I sat there, the employees were so kind to me and every single person that walked in. Every interaction seemed like they were people's friends.
