Why not... so I stopped to check out the situation. I'm always game for street tacos. Cesar's Quick Lunch is the name of the biz. It was parked on Penn Valley Road in the True Value hardware parking lot. Next to the truck are a couple of picnic tables with sun umbrellas. The tables are painted a super cute lime green. Street tacos $1.75. Meat choices: Asada, carnitas, al pastor, Chile verde, and pollo. Burritos $7. Nachos $7. Tortas $7. Bottled Mexican Cokes and Jarritos. Ya! Soda made from real cane sugar and not that HFCS madness. I ordered an asada and a pastor street taco each. The plate came with sliced limes and slices of jalapeños. Mmmm... both tacos were good! But the al pastor was a big hit with me. It was so darn flavorful. It was a bit messier to eat because of that awesome marinade. I'm not complaining tho. Delicious! They also cater. Check them out on Instagram and Facebook. Plus they take cash and plastic: Visa, MC, AMEX, and Discover. #CesarsQuickLunchTacoTruckInPennValley

Cesar is charming and passionate about his food and I will be back again to try the pastor torta, which was highly recommended also.

Visited June 25 2026. See my receipt …read more Yes...my fav place in Grass Valley! Huge outdoor shaded patio with misters which My puppy enjoyed! This place is classy yet casual. The employees are warm and friendly ( Grass Valley vibe ). We ordered our usual steak fajitas with all the complementary salsas. The dish also comes with rice and beans. I asked for alittle extra sear on the meat and it was perfect! The salsas..especially the habanero was spicy! They have many salsas and they are top notch! All so fresh! We had leftovers as usual and a very happy puppy in a nice shaded patio! Don't miss this place!

So my mom has eaten here for lunch with a good experience but never dinner, so we gave it a shot…read more We got there just after 6pm, a little ahead of the Saturday night crowd. From the start, things were bumpy. Our server was very pleasant but seemed flustered. Everything took more tine than it should have, from getting chips and salsa to placing our order. The Saturday crowd was pouring in and bumpy went to rocky. Our dishes took forever to finally arrive. Ok now for the food.... Mom had the California Enchilada and that was a success - very stuffed w chicken. My wife had the taquitos. She wanted one beef and one chicken but I guess they don't have that option in the ordering system so we went all beef. She ordered a side of black olives but it never arrived. We would have flagged the server on this but barely saw her. I had the Beef Chicana and that was the least successful dish. The dish ate extremely dry. It had amazing flavor but eaten as presented was not great. I tried to doctor w cheese and salsa which helped. I took mine home because i think w some moisture (beef stock?) some crema and maybe guac, it could be killer. Final notes. The salsa was very good, tasted homemade. The guac was okay. I was a little bummed no mole dishes on the menu. My wife brought home churros w caramel and she loved them. The ambience of the place was great - perfect noise control at the beginning but when it got packed, you are going to shift to yell mode. We will try it again but probably mid day lunch vs full blast Saturday night.

Easily one of my favorite New Mexican spots in grass valley!…read more This place is so cute inside and seating is plentiful Service here is outstanding I have zero complaints We all ordered tacos and left here with the biggest smiles on our faces truly amazing food The drinks here are STRONG not a complaint just a warning I loved my watermelon margarita. This is a great spot for friends and family at any time of day we came here for dinner and will be definitely coming back soon for lunch

*review based on brief bar experience only - no food*…read more It was an interesting experience for us as we wandered in for drinks while we waited for our Thai food we ordered Nextdoor. The bar is directly at the entrance, and they seemed to have gotten busy just shortly after we arrived. We had someone take our order, then another person take our order awhile later stating it wasn't inputted. When asking the bar tender for recommendations, he was less than helpful. He seemed like he wasn't very experienced at the bar, and after observing for awhile we realized that everyone in the restaurant seemed to be wearing all hats. Seating, serving, tending bar, ect. I think they could definitely benefit from some structured responsibilities for the individuals on staff- you know what they say- jack of all trades but master of none. At the end of the day, our drinks were okay, but we watched them pour one directly out of a can. They also didn't ask if we wanted blended margaritas or on Ice, so I guess next time I should plan to specify. I would try this establishment again, and look forward to the whole dining experience, in a few months. I think they just have a few kinks to work out :)

Visited May 29 2026. See my receipt as always…read more This place is in Princeton California. I have driven by this several times using the back roads from Colusa to Chico. The reason I didn't notice it was a small restaurant is because there is no signage other than by their takeout window! I am glad I stopped in with boyfriend and puppy in tow. Although the service was super slow it was worth it. We shared the carne asada burrito that had plenty of meat and rice and beans in it. The flavors were really good and no chewey or fatty meat inside. They do have inside seating but not pet friendly ( no outside seating). We took it to go and got back on the road. The burgers and milkshakes looked amazing ! The locals told me to call in the order ahead of time to eliminate long waits. Food was authentic and I will be back next time I drive through this area! Btw..they have beer and sodas as well. Lady that waited on me was nice and apologized for the wait. Also btw this is the backroad to get to Farmer's Brewing in Princeton

I joined some friends for lunch and after deep diving the menu, I ordered the Al Pastor Super Burrito and added a fresh jalapeño. It was the game changer that turned a great burrito into the perfect meal, because I LOVE spicy. Everything stood out on this meal: The Balance: It's rare to find a burrito where the meat, veggies, rice, and sauce are in such perfect proportion. Every bite was consistent. The Al Pastor: The seasoning on the pork was spot on, and the added heat from the jalapeño provided that perfect kick to cut through the richness. This was not marinated in store bought adobo. The Tortilla: Often overlooked, but the consistency here was perfect, strong enough to hold everything together without being gummy or overly thick. The interior has that classic, rustic wood-paneled vibe that makes you feel like you're in a true community staple. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch at the counter or sitting in one of the booths, the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighborhood spot. The owner was there crafting the perfection. He is happy to adjust to your taste. This is high-quality, honest food. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu. A Marc Tip: Definitely add that jalapeño to your burrito it adds a fresh heat that elevates the whole experience.

I rolled up and ordered the **shrimp burrito**, expecting solid street-style Mexican vibes. Holy mole, was I underprepared. That FIRST bite? Straight fireworks - juicy, perfectly seasoned shrimp exploding with flavor, fresh ingredients, that ideal tortilla hug. I thought, 'Okay, this is already elite.' Then came the second bite... third... fourth... and by the FIFTH bite? Pure transcendence. The flavors just kept building, layering heat, zest, and that addictive savory punch without ever overwhelming. It didn't peak early - it escalated like a boss. Every subsequent bite somehow topped the last, turning a simple burrito into an unforgettable flavor journey. This isn't just food; it's a revelation wrapped in a tortilla. Authentic, made-to-order perfection from a spot that's bringing real corazón to downtown Grass Valley.
