The prior comments regarding the rude husband are spot on. Food was decent but can't make up for the horrible service .

Great food, great service! The food is not at all spicy and a bit sweet for my taste, but a great option nonetheless!

Ask the Community - Moi's Thai Cafe

Is this place ever open anymore :( the last 3 times this past month I've tried to order take out and they aren't open?

Yes I was there 2 weeks ago for dinner. They have been closed various times unexpectedly due to major appliances in the kitchen going out and had to have them repaired or replaced.

We were coming from out of town with low expectations for a random spot we were told was good. The interior is spacious and has nice seating, with an additional room that felt a bit private where the server was able to rearrange tables for our large party, which made things really comfortable. The menu had a good amount of options. I ordered the Beef Pad See Ew and Papaya Salad. I was able to make it not spicy, and they put the Thai chilies on the side as well, which I really appreciated because my spice tolerance is very low. Both these items were delicious, and I would recommend them the most out of everything we ordered. Also, all our dishes came out in less than 5 minutes, which was impressive. My friends got the Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, Green Curry, and Crab Rangoons. The crab rangoons were good, and apparently the noodles they used for the Pad Thai looked like Vietnamese pho noodles. It was extremely saucy compared to what we're used to as well. The Yellow Curry was coconut-y, but the Green Curry was not. After our experience here, I think the meal exceeded all our expectations. Would definitely recommend!

I knew when we had the opportunity to go out in the area, that I wanted to check this place out! I'll preface my review with this: I'm used to Bay Area Thai food. I usually order medium, and then add more chile or spice as needed because some places make their mediums pretty warm. The food we ordered medium here had little to no spice, I definitely would call it mild and will probably order hot next time. With that said, the food was all fresh and delicious. They served us in what seemed like minutes after ordering, and our dishes had great presentation. We ordered wine to go with our meal, which was surprisingly affordable. It's not posted in the standard menu, but they do have a separate wine list you may need to ask for if you'd like wine. Overall, the interior had nice ambiance, the staff were friendly and we had a good experience here. I'd say if you're a Thai food lover in Grass Valley, it's worth giving them a try.

I'm submitting a review today because I always enjoy their food, service, and ambience, always delightful, special, and the experience is both home cooked and international, but also super personable (if you frequent) and very casual and fun! I simply today want to note how amazing the very certain, peaking flavors that are still tingling on my lungs, of the basil, chili chemistry, and Lao curry magjick I just experienced last Friday I cannot get off my mind, and body, today of the 4th day past! I admittedly am having an absolute sense of remorse; I am traveling to the Bay Area this upcoming weekend and will miss this Friday dinner at my FAVORITE Lao/Eastern Family Food Restaurant in the world. (I have been to Laos n Thailand, each their own, and Panoy and their family at the restaurant, deliver one of the most authentic Eastern experiences of community, food, and fun in getting to know a very slender, sliver of the magjick that lives in Gold Country California in 2026.) If you have yet to eat (and frequent, perhaps) Panoy, go directly in return or for your first time, and experience the fresh, rejuvenating invigorating palate Panoy brings to their community and extended family they share their business with. I'll be bringing my extended Bay Area friends and family there, as they visit me, home. Springing your way there w/your beloveds would be a great way to share a sense of specialty, reserve, and you'll be remembered for the great hosting in extending your family's taste, to Panoy's exquisite offerings and dishes, of the best nuance of Lao orient. When we made an overnight trip to Nevada City recently, several in the multi-generational group of aunts / uncles / cousins / parents remarked that there was a Thai restaurant with good ratings. I was happy to see that they had an outdoor patio, so we made that our dinner spot. They pushed two tables together on the patio to fit our group of eight. The patio space feels like a secret garden grotto with beautiful landscaping and a cozy feel. The sound of gently rushing water made it all the more charming. Sitting at the back of the historic brick building with its sculpted metal railings reminiscent of New Orleans was a wonderful visual addition to the experience. The gracious greeting we received and the good service throughout complemented the delicious food. We ended up ordering family style and sharing, and that provided lots of different tastes and textures to sample. Since I'm pretty much a novice at knowing what to order at a Thai place, it was a foodie adventure for me. I loved the crab pad se-ew, shrimp rolls, and fresh spring rolls in particular. The "regular" rice was prepared in a sticky rice fashion, and the actual "sticky rice" side order was actually too dense for my preference, but it all got consumed anyway. I sampled several of the more adventuresome dishes that my brother ordered with level-3 spiciness and I could handle them in moderation. I don't handle spicy foods too well these days. They're very accommodating in asking about your heat level and creating the dishes accordingly. Our niece, whose university graduation we were celebrating was thrilled that they had mango sticky rice dessert made with coconut milk, since she can't handle dairy milk. We all got to sample the mango, as it was plentiful. All the portions were really generous. It was ultimately such a great experience that I'm craving more of that pad se-ew right now as I write this review. Guess I'll have to see what our local Thai restaurants have to offer.

I got the dragon and phoenix which had good flavor... shrimps were cooked perfect, the chicken is breading pretty heavy and the sauce is a lil spicy, I also had some white steamed rice; not sure if it is supposed to have a light coconut flavor if not but being that I am super sensitive to coconut I didn't like it and had to toss it. Hubby ordered the sweet n sour chicken, it was the typical same flavor sauce that most places have with the same type of breaded chicken as mine was just different sauce.. he said he wished there was more sauce since some of his pieces were not coated.. over all things were alright but nothing special.
