We hired Tacos Guadalajara to cater my daughter's graduation party for 75 guests from 5:00-8:00 PM, with food service scheduled from 5:30-7:30 PM. We had used them previously and had a great experience, which makes this situation even more disappointing. This time was an absolute disaster. The grill operator could not get the grill lit for over an hour and a half. As a result, the food was almost TWO HOURS late. Most of our guests ended up leaving without ever eating. Imagine hosting a graduation party for 75 people and having almost no food available during the actual event. To make matters worse, when we politely asked for updates, the man cooking became rude and dismissive. His response was essentially, "I'm stressed." Well, so were we -- we were trying to host dozens of hungry guests while watching the entire event fall apart. At the end of the night, no apology, refund, or meaningful attempt to make things right was offered. We were simply told to "call Monday." After following up, the best they offered was $100 back for a completely ruined catering experience. This was beyond unacceptable. The food delay, poor communication, rude attitude, and lack of accountability completely ruined an important once-in-a-lifetime celebration for our family. I would never use them again and strongly caution others before trusting them to cater an important event. read more

I attended a birthday party where they hired Taqueria Guadalajara to cater the event. The food was delicious! The meat was tender, tortillas fresh, spicy sauces, plenty of fixings for the tacos and some of the best Spanish rice I've tasted. Despite a rain storm causing some last minute challenges, I thought the chef was professional and very well organized. They kept the line moving and gave plenty of notice when they were ready to shit down the food line. I'll definitely think of hiring them for a fire event. read more

We had taqueria Guadalajara for my son's graduation party. We had a crowd of around 125 people. Pedro, the taco chef from taqueria Guadalajara managed things perfectly. He kept the line moving, made sure everyone had what they needed. He even packaged up the leftovers for us to have the next day. Our guests are still raving about the taste and quality of the food. Everyone's favorite was the chorizo. Pedro doesn't speak any English and my Spanish isn't very good but between Google translate, my poor Spanish, and the international language of tacos, we did great. They ran out of food an hour and a half later and not everyone had a chance to eat. When we complained to Hector Sr. he argued with us saying that they portioned out for 4 street tacos per person, and 38 people ate more than 4 tacos each. That didn't happen. He refused to accept less pay for the less food and ended up ripping us off. My advice to anyone reading this is to look somewhere else for better food and service. The food was very good, but there were two main issues that negatively impacted the event: 1. Only a single person was sent to serve an event for 90 people. The gentleman who came was very nice and pleasant, but there only being a single person caused a long line to form.  Because there was only one person, the line would continue to build as he had to pause to cook more meat.  This caused dinner to last about 45 minutes longer than we had planned, causing us to have to push back the other events we had planned for the night. 2. Even though about only 75-80 people ended up staying for dinner, most of the meat ran out, resulting in people not getting enough food. A few of my family members who were helping run the party did not get any dinner as the meat had run out by the time they were able to eat. Due to there not being enough food even though 10-15 people did not show up to the party, and the long wait lines, I asked the owner to refund me for 20 people. He refused, and said that they supplied plenty of food and that the wait time was not a problem. I would not recommend them for large events read more

Everyone I called didn't provide a mobile taco cart option. I'm so happy that I found Taqueria Guadalajara. I called and spoke with Hector and it was very easy to navigate their website. On the day of the party, Manuel arrived with the cart and the food. Set-up was quick and within 30 minutes, the tacos were ready. The food was wonderful and very tasty.. we had pollo, carne asada, barbacoa and carnitas along with rice, beans and all the condiments anyone would need. Everyone at the party LOVED the food. Unprofessional, unorganized and no clear communication. I wrote the Event Manager Hector to let him know of my experience and I didn't appreciate the excuses I received. We hired taqueria guadalajara for a quarterly meeting catering service for 100 people. One worker showed up. Roy was more worried about the set up and how many tacos to serve on the plate rather than just setting up and serving tacos. Roy was complaining about the area he needed to set up at because there wasn't enough shade, however I had sent his boss pictures of the area weeks in advance. I kept having to remind him to not set a limit on tacos and that it was on a first come first serve basis. I had suggested Taqueria Guadalajara to my boss because I had an amazing experience for my 15th birthday (a long time ago). But I highly recommend going with a different company now a days if you don't want to be left embarrassed and stressed. I would give no stars if I could. read more

I have been in the food business for 40 years and all I wanted was to hire someone that would take care of my guests like I have always done for others. When I first started looking for a Taco caterer I spoke to several companies. When I spoke to Hector I found him to have great communication skills and knew he really cared about my event and wanted it to be great. He listened to what I wanted, and created a package just for me. I think his pricing is more than fair. Sure there is cheaper by a few dollars, but QUALITY costs a bit more. I think the experience was a bargain. Food was great, and his staff was equally great. I can't imagine anyone not being happy with his services. We did not have enough food (Taco meats) for the amount of guests I paid for (50). We traveled to AZ from CA and in CA they factor 4-5 tacos per person. Well according to the Taco man, they alot 2-3 tacos? An adult hungry Latino eats their fill of a good Taco, which it was. We expressed our concerns to the Taco man, and he somewhat agreed with our claim (he was a full sized man). No concessions were made. No apologies given and we had to order delivery pizzas for our remaining guests. I, the host, did not eat so that one more of my guests could eat. We just had Taqueria Guadalajara for my sons birthday. They were great from beginning to end. I called with a question and they were very friendly, booking was easy online with a $100 deposit. They have reminders that go out before the event too. They are less about phone interaction but I prefer the emails and felt comfortable. They came 45 mins before the party to set up and it was great- we did carne asada, pollo asada and carnitas. They were all great! I loved the topping too fresh cabbage, cilantro, onions, and so many more fresh ingredients to compliment the tacos. Really good rice and beans too. We had a friend that had this place cater for his sisters birthday and it was amazing so we decide to try it out for my husbands birthday. We were impressed David had everything setup professionally. We had this at our HOA park with no outlets and no water access but he didn't need anything. Food was good, the guest love the pastor tacos and the fact that David cook the meat as you ordered it. We had the event start at 2pm and the taco cart come by 3pm. He said he usually stay for 2hrs or until food is gone whichever first. I didn't asked if he normally stays only 2hrs or not so if you have a bigger party you may want to ask. I gave 4 stars because they do charge for the drive out to you because they are mainly located Phoenix. They also wanted to charge more for flour tortillas so we just stuck with the corn tortillas. I used this company before the husband took over and since then it's never been the same I referred them to my brothers baby shower that had 80 people attending and I was embarrassed with the quality of food and service. He showed up while the guests were there an hour late the food was frozen in a cooler filled with ice so definitely was not cooked on site fresh! All that meat and chicken where in Ziploc bags. they ran out of rice within 30 minutes they also ran out of Carna Sada so they could save money on the meat and the chicken was all dark meat that looked like it's been sitting out for days;( The worker was eating on site we have video of him turning around and eating our food that we paid for it was shocking! But after all that my main concern was when I called the manager Hector. The Way he responded to this situation was appalling:(. I started Explaining to him everything and he would just start laughing:(. It was so unprofessional and I've never dealt with a company that would handle a situation like Hector did. After 2 weeks, multiple phone calls, and even driving by the restaurant several times, I filed a dispute with PayPal. Later that same day (8/20/18) Hector left me a voicemail saying the restaurant was closed but they were still catering and letting me know he was upset I filed a dispute. I left him a voicemail at the number he left and explained that because I only heard from him after I filed a dispute I had no confidence they would even show up to cater my event. Then on 8/31 I got an email from PayPal saying they'd closed my dispute because the vendor provided tracking information that an item has been shipped. SERIOUSLY?!? I'd like to know exactly what you claim you shipped you LIARS!!! I've reopened the case with PayPal and will be posting about your lying and theft all over social media. read more

I was so disappointed with my experience. I ordered tacos for my sons first birthday. We ordered for 50 people. Ordering was very easy and there was excellent communication leading up to the event. However, after only about 35 people had eaten, I was informed they were out of food. I was also informed by several guests who ate first that they were told they were limited to 3 tacos, which tells me the chef knew there was a mistake and there was not enough but tried to cover it up. It took my husband going round and round with the chef and ultimately getting on the phone with the owner for nearly 20 minutes (missing his sons first birthday festivities for nearly an hour in total) before they would offer any kind of compensation. All in all, the food was delicious (or so I was told as I never got to try it) and I could even overlook the mistake if they had been apologetic and we felt we'd been fairly compensated, but I felt the customer service was very very poor considering the situation. The reason I am giving this business only 2 stars is because when I booked them online they never contacted me personally to confirm and after trying to call them multiple times only to get a voicemail and send them messages that never went through their website, I thought they were not going to show so I ordered food from another restaurant. Then the taco person ends up showing up and I had to cancel my restaurant order, luckily they were able to cancel without charging me. Then their website says they send two people, which they only sent one woman by herself. We hired a Taco Cart for my husbands 50th birthday party for 45 people! Before I placed my order online, I called and spoke with Hector Jr. to make sure they had an availability and he assured me they did, I then placed my order online, was very happy with the reasonable price and got an email confirmation the next day. I'm so happy I found Taqueria Guadalajara!!!! They arrived on time to setup and were very professional. The food was AMAZING!!! My husband and I LOVE Mexican food and are pretty picky when it comes to taste and were VERY pleased! The tacos, rice, beans and condiments were spot on! We loved everything from start to finish and even had food left over, which, they packed up for us to keep :) Definitely will hire use them again and would refer them to everyone!! Only two things that aren't a huge deal but wish I would have asked to know: 1. I didn't know that they would need a table cloth for the condiment table, luckily I had a blue plastic one leftover from another party (even though this whole party color theme was black and gold). 2. Store bought Kirkland tortilla chips. I would have bought homemade tortilla chips. Like I said these weren't a huge deal but I just forgot to ask. Regarding the bad reviews: I can't say those people are incorrect, all I can do is let you know that they were nothing but professional and AMAZING! We used these guys to cater street tacos for our daughter's 1yo birthday party. If you have an upcoming event and need awesome food and great service at a great price, use Taqueria Guadalajara. These are legit street tacos. Hector was my contact person, and he was very accomodating and professional. We ended up increasing the guest list significantly near the party, and it was no problem. 4 types of meat are included - went with carne asada, chicken, chorizo, and al pastor (pork). All four were good, but the consensus was that the al pastor was the best. David came out to our house and set up about an hour before food was to be served. He started grilling, and set out the vegetable bar, which was huge. There were pickled onions, carrots/jalapeno, some sort of slaw, lettuce, pico de gallo, onions, and green and red salsas. David was extremely courteous, and stayed to serve until the last person was done eating - in 100 degree heat outside. Cleanup was great, you wouldn't even know they were there. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because David did leave a "Tips" box out on the table. My feeling is that at a catered party, it is the host's responsibility to tip for good service. Expecting the guests to tip is a little awkward. Just my opinion, but not a huge deal. Would use them again in a heartbeat, as will many of my guests. read more

We tried the taco cart with Taqueria Guadalajara for a recent party.... Sadly it wasn't that great of an experience. We requested a certain cook, they promised us over and over the cook would be there, when they showed up, they replaced the cook with another person. However, that wasn't that big of a deal.... They were supposed to show up at 3pm when the party started but didn't arrive until 4:30PM. Apparently Arizona Freeways are very confusing and they couldn't figure out how to get to the East Valley. Instead of keeping me in the loop on when they were coming, I ended up having to call them every 15 minutes after they were extremely late.. Thankfully for their sake, their food is excellent... The food and service were fantastic. We used the tqueria service for my birthday party and it couldn't have been better. Oscar was our server and he was a real trooper. A large storm rolled in that night and he had to move the cart and set up into the garage (which was very hot) and he did not complain once. I felt bad for him but he just kept on serving some of the best tacos we had ever had. It was so much fun that several friends have mentioned that they will likel have one at thier next party. One of the guests in from LA was so impressed that he has ordered one for his daughters 2nd birthday next month in LA. Hector and Olivia couln' t have been nicer. Great catering! Went to a house party that they catered and it was wonderful. Food was prepped right in from of you. Everything was delicious, a little spicy but not overly spiced. There was a choice of chicken, carnitas and carne asada. There were more than enough accompaniments and some very salsas to put on top of your tacos. Hector the "Owner" gives the phone to his son so he can deal with the customer and his son has no idea what he is doing. He blames the customer and can't even get the order right. We used their taco cart catering service for a fiesta party we hosted for 60 people. David served the tacos and did an outstanding job. They were a hit with everyone, and all three meats (carne asada, chicken, and carnitas) were enjoyed. We were happy we ordered a double portion of the carne asada because it turned out to be the most popular meat. The cost was very reasonable and it was easy to order online. The best part of the service was that David set up, served, and cleaned up the entire meal. That left us time to mingle with our guests and enjoy the party! read more
