We had dinner here a couple of weeks ago when we were in Roswell, as we were told it was one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. When we walked in, we were told to pick seats anywhere that was open, and we decided on a booth. There was live music during dinner - which left something to be desired (it was not very upbeat/lively). I went with a regular house margarita - which was good, and generously sized. For food, I had the three crispy taco combination (ground beef, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese), which came with beans and rice. They were good. The standout was the chicken dish my husband ordered - the pollo palapa - the chicken was very flavorful, and plentiful! The food is good, and very reasonably priced. We will likely be back next year when in the area!

We were traveling through. Service was great and the food was excellent! I had the combination plate and everything was good but the crispy taco was the bomb. I thought maybe I should have had the 3 crispy taco plate but seriously everything was great. The salsa is delicious and spicy hot. Would definitely recommend.

Asada, Al Pastor, Pollo, Carnita's all dry and gross the taco shells are outta the bag which is a shame.

The food is horrible. The tacos were sub par and taco salad was mushy, their salsa is trash. Ambiance is ok. The service is basic

My second trip and I am much more impressed. The decor is well done. The food is good. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. This is one of the nicest remodels of a closed national chain location I have seen. We sat on the patio with our dogs. Nicely tiled, great shade.

Neither the best nor the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had. The restaurant itself is inviting: Clean, good atmosphere, outdoor seating, friendly staff, full bar, prompt service.... What's not to like? The food, that's what! I ordered the #6 combination plate (Taco, Burrito, Cheese Enchilada) and it was just mediocre. Everything lacked spice and seasoning. The main problem with the burrito and taco was the ground beef: it was just... bland. But, thankfully, their salsas saved the day! The salsa verde was just right in terms of spice and saved the taco. The salsa roja was what you look for in a good red sauce, but with a little extra zing on the back end of your palate. It saved the burrito (but, still, the burrito coulda used some beans). The main problem with the enchilada was the cheese was just some bland mild cheddar (?) or maybe Colby (?). With so many good Mexican quesos available I didn't understand why they choose to use the blandest orange, pre-shredded cheese available from the Walmart cheese case. But, again, the enchilada sauce had enough taste and spice to lift the enchilada despite the poor choice of cheese. The table salsa that comes with the chips was really good! It had a mild essence but then spicy heat kicked in on the back end. (I couldn't stop eating it!) So... Food? Bleh. Sauces? Fantastico! I was hoping for more "authentic" Mexican food in Roswell, and this wasn't it.

Service was OK. The taquitos were good but don't order the chimichanga from here. You can get a much better one at Alsups down the street.

I had the Picadillo and Eggs and this was great - well spiced ground beef with a side of eggs, this arrived with potatoes and tortillas. HAIR IN OUR FOOD As a Yelp Elite Member, I take my reviews…read moreseriously and always aim to be fair. I don't like giving bad reviews, but this experience left me disgusted and disappointed. The food was good, and everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. We even packed up leftovers to take home. But just as we were finishing, my grandson's mother noticed a thick, coarse hair on his plate. Finding a hair in food is always stomach-turning, but discovering it after I had already eaten made it worse. It made me wonder: What else did I miss? I showed the hair to our server, who immediately removed the plate--and to be fair, I could tell the hair wasn't from her. The issue was how management handled it: a 10% discount and zero real concern. No apology from a manager, no real effort to make it right--just a small discount and moving on. That response left a bad taste in my mouth. Had it not been for the hair, I would have rated this place 4 stars. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was casual, and the food was enjoyable. But the way this was handled knocked my rating down to 2 stars. We were so put off that, even though our leftovers were packed and ready to go, we left them behind. I debated between 1 and 2 stars but settled on 2 because the food itself was good. That said, this experience made it impossible to recommend this place.

Spicy Beef Nachos Appetizer: Chips topped with queso, green onions, jalapeños, black olives, tomatoes, guacamole, and sour cream. My friend got this and I had a couple bites. Got two Johnny Walker Blacks with a splash of coke and they came well mixed and quickly. We did end up getting rained in and hilariously went back for a second dinner to wait out the rain. Black corn taquitos were OK, I would not get the fried shrimp basked again, the shrimp was too small and there was too much breading.

Most of the time, diners, pizza…read moreshops, ice cream parlors serve this purpose, and sometimes, cafeterias/coffee shops, bakeries do. A little bit less common yet, we find restaurants that provide this space over a long period of time. Martin's Capitol Cafe would be such. We ordered a tamale, carne adovada and a chimichanga. The chimichanga wasn't deep fried but pan fried, which was not common and already a red flag. We got our food and it was just OK. The chips and salsa were good, but the food was OK. My portion was also small, and the rice was a bit dry. Maybe we ordered wrong... The restaurant is also a bit well worn. It adds charm but I think charm that is not backed up with good food is like a band-aid over a bleeding wound.

The service was just okay - it seemed like we were almost inconveniencing our server, but at least the host was friendly. Despite being fairly empty, it did take a little while for our food to arrive. After some research, this seemed to be one of the better options for New Mexican food in Roswell, so I'd probably go back on my next visit.

The chips were house made and had spices on it with plenty of salt. The guacamole was house made and fresh and a little runny and lacked flavor but combine it with the salsa, it was out of this world. The horchata, which they just call it a rice drink, is made fresh daily and absolutely delicious. My husband had the carne asada plate and I had the carne asada chimichanga. The portions were huge and a great price. The carne asada itself was tender with great flavor. Rice and beans were light but didn't lack quality. The red sauce I had on my chimichanga was just the right amount of red sauce. The reason I took a star is because I either received the wrong plate or they call it the wrong thing on the menu. Chimichanga is basically a burrito deep fried but what I received was a burrito smothered in red sauce, not fried at all.
