10-3-24. Found this little gem on Yelp so a hearty "thank you" to previous reviewers. The food selection is amazing and the menu has many low price ala carte offerings. The pictures are clear and accurate our meals came out identical to the menu so what you see IS what you get! Complimentary chips and an amazing fresh made salsa was brought to the table, a big bowl, very generous. Two hot sauces were also provided in ketchup type dispensers, the red was hotter than the green. The meals arrived hot and extremely tasty. Our waitress brought us this small pickling jar of pickled onions and peppers and she said it was hot that was an understatement. The meal overall was great and the cost with a ten dollar tip was only $37. Only thing they could improve on are the restrooms. We'll be back for more! read more

Met a friend here for lunch a few weeks back. The waitress didn't speak ANY English at all, so when I asked for "no salt" on my margarita she was puzzled. The food was okay, nothing to rave about. Where do I start?! The drinks were bottled drinks and your charged for each one. The waiter couldn't understand what we were asking for. You can't understand the menus. I thought I was ordering burritos but I got t taquitos. I asked if there was queso on them when I ordered because the menue is unclear. He said yes but they didn't. I don't know if I got the gringo price or portion but $12 for three tacos that didn't fill me up I'm not sure about. I had the Al pastor, the beef, and chorizo. The pastore was by far the best. Chorizo was good. Steak was kind of chewy, but had decent flavor. Small portions, big price. The tortillas weren't that good as compared to others that I've had. Lots of Latino families eating there though which is generally a good sign. Reiterating a few things already mentioned. Absolutely the worst excuse for a restaurant I ever saw. It was dinner hour on a Thursday, the diners consisted of myself and my husband and 2 individual men dining alone. They have a good selection of traditional mexican entree's, I opted for one pork and one chorizzo taco. When I asked for flour tortilla, she said 'no problem' so that put a smile on my face. They were very good sized and the chorizzo was a tad on the spicy/hot side but not teye watering hot. The pork was flavorful and very tasty. Both were garnished with fresh radishes and cucumbers. Small restaurant located in a small strip, easily accessible from the 17. Not sure if the a/c was broken, or if there is none. The restaurant was very hot, but at least the staff had some floor fans going. The food was ok. Nothing to get excited about. My bf has the mar y tierra. He said that the steak was flavorful but over cooked and so was the shrimp. I ordered the sopes with carnitas and barbacoa. The carnitas were extremely fatty. More fat than meat and the barbacoa has a really weird flavor, I couldn't eat it. It actually made me almost gag. Maybe we ordered the wrong plates, because the reviews on the place seemed decent. The food is authentic! It's served nice and hot and it can make it 20 minutes from there and still be nice and hot once I'm home. The service is great, there is a slight language barrier at certain points but it's not horrible, and they always get my order correct. First, let me say that like a previous reviewer, if you think Don Pablo's, Taco Bell, On the Border, or Uncle Julio's is good Mexican food, then keep driving. I mean, it's in the middle of nowhere Bealeton, VA and it's at the end of a run down strip mall; but, I've found that you often find the best holes-in-the-wall this way...and that we did. We started with our standard beans for appetizer. They were great...and it's amazing how many variations of beans you can get. We usually ask for "salsa picante", but she brought us a trifecta of sauces which included 1 chipotle salsa, 1 salsa verde, and 1 salsa that was too watery and flavorless for me. My husband ordered a torts which was excellent. Great bread! But I focused on my colossal meal. I ordered the Huaraches con Carnitas, but since they were only $6.50, I also ordered the Gordita Frita con Carnitas y Queso. Holy Hell! Not only were the portions big, but they were muy delicioso! I'm very sady that I do not live close to this place because the menu rocks! There is so much to try and so little stomach space on one trip. My sopes con carne were awesome but I couldn't finish all three. My daughter's taco looked lovely and my son's cheese enchiladas were tasty. Horribly Disappointed! When we arrived the staff was less than welcoming. We were hungry and in a good mood and didn't think much about it. There was one other table with two customers. Even though we were the only one they were cooking for, it took 40-45 minutes to get an order of enchiladas with beans and rice and two tostadas. The tostadas came separately from my husband's order and I was completely done eating before he even got his food.The wait staff was slow and after waiting for a while for them to return to the table they never did so we had to seek them out to go pay the bill. By this time we were the only customers so you think they would have it at least acknowledge our presence. About 20 to 30 minutes into our wait for our food, Hispanic customers came in, and they were able to get served and received their food even before we did. It was pretty obvious what was going on. I ordered #47 to go. This was my first time ordering a meal but I eat the tacos & chicken with chipotle and chips from here often. The portion was very small for $15.74. The rice was hard. There's no salad. No red or green sauce. There was a mystery $1.00 charge but I'm guessing that was for the guacamole I didn't ask for. I didn't want my steak cooked too well and I mentioned this to the chef but he never acknowledged what I said. So I'm not sure if he understood me or if I was flat out ignored. Typically there's an English speaker in the restaurant but there wasn't at the time of my visit so I couldn't communicate effectively. Came here this past weekend. From the pictures on yelp I decided to order just tacos. I walked in around two and waved a waitress down to get a seat. The "Please Wait to be Seated" sign is hidden by the kitchen. Based on the reviews below and what other people did when they arrived, I would advise to wave down a waitress prior to sitting down if you want service otherwise they may be oblivious to your presence. I ordered four tacos, two chorizo, one barbacoa (goat), and one tongue. All were was I expected except the goat was a little too fatty. Tacos were spiced just right and piled with onion, cilantro, radish, cucumbers, and limes on the side. In retrospect three would have satisfied my hunger and I'd only order four again if I was starving. I had to go to the kitchen to find the waitress and pay the bill. The service leaves something to be desired but the food is delicious so I'll definitely be back. read more

Went in there on a Friday night about an hour before closing. Needed to ask one of the servers who was on her cell phone if we needed to seat ourselves and she just nodded her head. The floor was dirty and it wasn't the cleanest but I thought, maybe they had a late night run due to the football game. Out of the 5 tables available in the main seating section, 2 had dirty dishes on them and the other three were 'clean' but still were not wiped off. Our server, different than the previous one, saw this and immediately came over to wipe it off. Even though she didn't speak very much English, she was semi attentive and tried very hard. I have no problems going into a restaurant that is authentic for the server to only know a limited amount, as long as the order is correct and we can communicate. My daughter wanted to order an Jarrito and out of the 5 or 6 they had advertised having, only 2 were available. When she went to order a soda, she had to go with her third choice, since the other two were not available. We ordered pupusas w/rice, tacos and quesadilla w/beans. The pupusas were mediocre, the tacos were very good - they were chirozo and the chicken quesadilla was good. The sides - beans and rice - were cold. Once the food was given to us, we were checked on once and that was it. No refills on the drinks. No clean up on the table and we needed to ask for the checks, THEN go up to the counter to get them not knowing that we needed to pay there.
