    Bean and cheese pupusa
    Brittanie M.

We heard about La Chiapaneca from a friend and decided to drive out to their food truck today. Our first impression was that it was super cute and the outdoor seating was full of personality. We like to try the birria tacos everywhere we go that has them on the menu; and these did not disappoint! We also ordered bean and cheese pupusa's, queso and chips, flan, and a pina fresca. Everything was amazingly fresh, flavorful, and delicious.

The food has arrived! Taco on right, plantains on left

Driving through on the way south in 29, stopped in for a quick lunch. Wow. We will be back! Everything was fresh and tasty and the portions were good. The tables are cute, and the outdoor setting made it feel like a party. Highly recommended. The 6" super taco was great - ate some of it with a fork and was then able to pick up. The plantains were among the tastiest I've ever had!

We had just got into town and we heard this was the place to go for birrias tacos and Pupusas. We arrived and they made the stuff within I would say less than Thirty Minutes. The ambiance was really nice to bad it was cold if not we would of stayed there to eat. This a place I definitely definitely recommended

Taco Birrias, large esquite and tacos de carnitas.

Amazing food! The service was a bit slow but the taste of food and the atmosphere was so outstanding that we didn't mind the waiting.

A weekend trip to Culpeper. Cute outdoor seating. The food truck is well decorated and matches the colorful bench and tables. The food is soooo good!!! We will be back on our next visit.

I love the food here. I have been multiple times and everything has always been delicious, fresh tasting, and authentic. Food is served quickly. The only negative thing I have to say is that the music is always WAY too loud. I went with three other people and we could barely talk to each other. Seating is limited too. I highly recommend this restaurant!

    Birria tacos

I like the food truck location as well as the brick and mortar. Ive had the birria tacos twice which was good however this time they weren't very flavorful and the consume was very greasy with meat fat at the top. The elote is amazing from this place so I always get a side of it. The pupusas are OK...I've had much better and wouldn't recommend them from here unless you have no other option. The carnitas tacos are really good and come with plenty of meat. The cheese fries are great too! The menu is pretty large so there's plenty of options to choose from.

Food truck with brightly painted covered picnic benches set the ambiance at this delicious location. It's incredibly difficult to find real Mexican food, but this truck delivers! I got three shrimp tacos and hubs got the torta Cubana. We waited maybe five minutes for our food to be ready. The shrimp tacos were bomb: real corn tortillas that were warm and pliable while sturdy, slaw, a ripe slice of avocado and 4-5 delicious, perfectly sized shrimp. It came with a tasty red sauce with *real* heat and green sauce that was deliciously mild but flavorful. Oh, and a ripe, juicy slice of lime. The torta Cubana was enormous and came with a robust serving of fries with delicious spices on them. There was too much between the very fresh slices of bun/bread/torta for me to list, so refer to picture. Hubby says he definitely recommends it, and it was more than enough for a meal. Porta-potties are there in case you're wondering . If you like real Mexican foood that's fresh and cooked with love at a super casual outdoor dining setting, this place is for you. I'll definitely return to try other menu items.

Order at the counter indoors and then they will bring the food to your table. The pupusas were on point! Perfectly seasoned and cooked. We tried the zucchini cheese ones and it was the perfect match. Their zucchini is finely shredded and gave flavor without the usually wateriness. Warning: their margaritas are huge! We got one "Texas style" which we were told is a margarita made with lemon and orange. Sold! We sat on their "patio" which is the front porch. Ambiance is not amazing with old card tables and folding chairs but it was decorated with Salvadoran flags and lights and TBH we didn't care with such a great meal.

It's a one-block kind of town, not the place you'd think to go for Central American cuisine. The building is on the older side, but they've done a nice job with it and it has some charm. The menu includes pupusas and various other Latin American cuisine, notably possessing a vegetarian section. Notably, they have a time set aside on Sunday afternoon (which is often when I'm eating at restaurants) where they are apparently in pupusa prep mode and say that these delicacies may not be available. However, I dropped in just after 5 and they told me they were good to go. The classic options they offer were well rendered here. A queso loroco, which the menu explains in detail, offered large flower buds and a strong flavor contrast. The accompanying sides of pickled cabbage and sauce made for a typically dynamic flavor experience. And the great thing about ordering pupusas is that you can really get the size of meal you want. Three makes a good meal, but you could just get a snack, or add an appetizer. It's a good thing to search for, particularly if on a road trip for a region that is very pretty but not overwhelmed with diverse culinary options.

Unfortunately, it was nothing like what we expected, and the food was extremely disappointing. Then I found out the owner is Bolivian not even Argentinian. The chimichurri was red and had a very different taste than what we expected. The green hot sauce was basically like eating raw jalapeño--extremely overpowering. The mashed potatoes were watery and very salty, and the broccoli was literally sitting in so much water that almost half of the bowl was full of it. The rice tasted like microwave rice, and the French fries were just ordinary fries. The biggest disappointment was the meat. It was extremely fatty, chewy, and had almost no flavor. The chicken was overcooked and tasted like leftovers that had been reheated. For an Argentinian restaurant, the quality and preparation of the meat should be one of the highlights, but unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. Honestly, we could barely eat our food and ended up leaving most of it. What made the experience even worse was that, despite barely being able to eat the food, we were still charged half of the meal. The total bill was over $85, and that included $5 for a small cup of what tasted like microwave rice. Just in case the food looks half-empty in the pictures, we did put some of the food onto our plates to try it. Unfortunately, we couldn't eat it, so that's why some of the containers look partially empty. As someone who was genuinely looking forward to trying Argentinian food, this experience was incredibly disappointing. In my opinion, this restaurant does not represent the quality or flavors that people expect from Argentinian cuisine. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant, and I would not return.
