We've been to La Tingeria several times since they opened this location, and the food has been amazing every single visit. All of their meat is Halal, and even the chorizo is made with chicken sausage. The restaurant is a little off the beaten path, but it's located in a strip center with plenty of parking. Inside, it's casual with picnic-style seating. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. The gentleman at the register is there every time we go, and he does a great job explaining all the different menu items. This last visit, I had the Torta -- a large, delicious, and very filling sandwich. We also had several types of tacos, plus chips and salsa. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly.
This review is past due. Omg such a GEM!! La Tingeria is a must stop when in Fredericksburg , Va!! My favorites are the Hal pastor (halal chicken pastor taco. They even have Taco Tuesday specials ! They have everything you'd want from agua Fresca, loaded fries to Tres leches and everything is HALAL & delicious ! Service is A1 employees are on top of things! I love the self service salsa bar. Large restaurant with lots of seating and beautiful art. Picture worthy both the food and interior. Must try !!!
EVERYTHING on the menu is 100% amazing! Best tostadas in all the U.S.! Employees are very polite and friendly. The spot is very chill and open. A great spot to go with friends.
This place was quick and delicious. Prices very reasonable. The tacos and tostadas were super flavorful. Almost everything is gluten free. The queso was awesome and the meat was flavorful. The chicken tinga was my favorite. And $2 taco Tuesday!
First time coming here and mannnn I was impressed. The food was incredible, flavorful, and left a great impression. I would have to say the portion size is a bit smaller for the tacos and tostados and a bit pricy but I get it things are getting more expensive. Also best of all, it's HALAL. My family members were able to enjoy a hearty meal with beef/chicken and not just seafood. P.S. The eggrolls were DELISH.
Very opened space and informative owner on their options and specials throughout the week. Friendly and welcoming. The space allows for a good times with friends and/or family. Lots of seating available with picnic like tables and small tables with regular chairs as well. The prices are very accommodating and portions on food were plentiful. We decided to try the famous birria eggrolls, shrimp tostada, birria goat taco, and birrria beef tacos with consomé. Of course had some Jarrito and Agua de Mango Pineapple to chase it all down. Loved them all, personally, could've done without the birria eggrolls but when in Rome. Definitely recommend and looking forward to making this place a regular location in the Fredericksburg area.
What a great food and service experience. Nice restaurant, in a quiet and spacious area. Nice trendy latin music; nice picnic tables; awesome very fast service and great making suggestions. Been looking at this restaurant on yelp for a while and finally went to try it, definitely coming back. In my opinion, my top five are: tinga chicken tostada, hal pastor torta, carne asada quesadilla, beef birria taco, and birria egg roll. Could not kept the top list smaller.
Friday night date night. First time at La Tingeria. Place was clean, owner was friendly, but a little too overly explanatory. When we walked in, he was just getting started on giving a complete overview of the entire menu to the party ahead of us. When we approached the counter, he asked if it was our first time there, then without asking if we had any questions, he went into great detail about the differences in tacos, quesadillas, sopes, tostadas, elote...I wanted to interrupt and say, "Dude! This isn't my first rodeo having Mexican food"! A better approach would have been to go ahead with the suggestions he made (he made suggestions on what type of protein for tacos, which protein for the tostadas, etc.) and then ask if we had any questions. Otherwise, it was an overly informative piece of information that was unnecessary. I had to stand there just looking at him as he explained what birria tacos and consommé were. Not to mention, we'd already perused the menu, and knew exactly what we were ordering. Yes, I could have interrupted, but I didn't want to be rude. Besides, he was very enthusiastic. Restaurant is a "fast food", counter service, type of establishment; they're also 100% halal, which was nice (so no pork). We ordered the birria egg rolls, 1 beef birria taco, 1 chicken hal pastor taco, 1 tinga chicken taco, 1 shrimp tostada taco, and 2 bottles of water. It was $35 with tax and tip. Food came quickly. The birria egg rolls were amazing!! So good! I thought the tacos were just okay; my husband and I both agreed that the tinga chicken was the better of the three. I'd be interested in trying a fish taco and a churro there though. The shrimp tostada was great! Overall, I definitely think that they're a solid contender in the area for tacos. Personally, I prefer a more traditional, sit down, full service Mexican restaurant, but I definitely like the option to stop in and get a taco or two, on a busy day. This would be perfect place for days like tomorrow, when my husband is working a 12 hour shift, I want something "fast", and I don't want to have to order a big meal. I give them 4/5 stars.
Had no idea places were in this shopping center as it's set out of the way. Found it via Facebook. Walk in and very inviting. Picnic tables and smaller tables to sit at. Nice selection of meats to use in the options. The elote was delicious and perfectly cooked. Tostada with Tinga chicken was my fav. Tacos were tasty and fully packed with meat. Staff was friendly, only interacted to order and get handed food. Will be back for sure.
This place was great! I wish it was sit down versus get in line and order but it was a good experience nonetheless. The menu is painted on the wall so it can be difficult to read but the options are great! The most authentic Mexican spot in the area. The elote had tajin on it and I wish I would've known that as I normally prefer powdered chile or tapatío. The ambiance was spacious and quiet to have a conversation, but I think if they hired the volume a bit it would make the place a lot more enjoyable. I'll be back!
I don't visit Virginia without making a stop at LA Tingeria! Their El Pastor tacos are my favorite! The consistency is what I love! Theg have never let me down! The customer service, cleanileness, & food are always top tier.
The food was amazing. The employees were all very friendly. And service was quick. Nice and quiet actually. Music plays in background but not loud. We will definitely be back. It was so worth the 45 minute drive. Can't wait to try it all
Excellent taco spot! Very spacious with plenty of seating. We decided to try the carne asada torta which had great flavor and was a good size. We also tried the beef birria tacos with consume and they were great. I love the portion size of protein that comes with each taco. Only thing I wish was that they would give you a little extra onion and cilantro. My husband also tried the chorizo/pollo taco and he liked it. We will definitely be coming back to try more things off the menu. Great, friendly service.

These are some of the best tacos I've had in my life and I've been to multiple places in Mexico. This is unreal whenever I'm on the road. I am going to make my way to this spot. For my Muslim friends everything is Halal so it's no pork on the premises. Everything I got the Hal Pastor was unreal. The Beria egg rolls was amazing. Everything that they made was off the chart. Everything was fresh, the ingredients and the timing of everything that came out. The owner. also the environment and ambience is a beautiful elegant atmosphere for this restaurant. read more

We did a carry out this past weekend, from this much talked about restaurant, La Tingeria, which I have to say the 'hype' is very true. It is set in the corner off of the busy area of Rt. 1. Clean and decent place. Very helpful service, with questions answered. I love goat and this is the only place in my area that actually uses goat and they use plenty of goat in the Birria Tacos, I was dancing with every bite. The Pastor Chicken Taco was delicious also. Will be a regular because there are so many options on the menu and I have to try them all. read more

We've been waiting to try La Tingeria. It was good! Awesome environment, friendly staff, and tasty food. The Mango/pineapple water was delicious, sope was full of flavor, and tacos FULL OF MEAT. Absolutely the best tacos that I've ever eaten. The fish and goat tacos were my favorites. Get a side of the consume to dip your tacos in they don't need it but it's delicious. The tostadas, sopes, and the pineapple mango juice were also very delicious. Also, highly recommend the fusion style appetizer egg rolls. The inside is really cute and clean. The bathroom is spotless. The service was great! Very friendly and made excellent recommendations. read more

I work in Springfield. I eat at Taco Bamba. In Fredericksburg near where I live, this restaurant gives them a run for their money. They have birria that will make your tongue curl. You can get it in tacos, appetizer, tortas, sopes. The wife got a torte carne asada. Now she can't eat that much, but she tore up half of this sandwich that would have taken me an hour to eat. There are not enough words to powerfully recommend this place to anyone. read more
Tinga has always been my preferred way of making food at home, whether it's in a taco, over rice, or leftovers converted to a stew or chilequiles... so I was excited to see a restaurant named Tingeria here in the Fredericksburg area. And boy, they put Olboi to shame !!! The variety of styles sets this place apart from any other taqueria, but the quality sets them above and beyond most restaurants of any kind as well. The care they put into the recipes and final product can be seen, smelled, and tasted. I have not tried every menu Item yet... but if it's as good as their Namesake Tingas, Birrias, Pastores, Egg Rolls, Horchata, Churros.... then I'm sure my 5 Stars are not misplaced. Super duper clean facility and very polite/professional staff. read more

Best taco spot in Fredericksburg VA, great customer service and restaurant always clean. Love the colors and hidden gem location. Located in southpoint near crackle barrel. Flavors are great actually spicy if you need it to be spicy. Great meat quality and they don't hold back on stuffing the taco. read more

Wow just wow ! Took me back to my childhood. Fantastic food and service! Great ambiance and very clean. The avocado, lettuce, cheese and toppings were so fresh which is hard to find that kind of freshness in other Mexican restaurants. The flavors are spot on and the food doesn't feel overly greasy at all! Definitely authentic and high quality food. Worth every penny. read more

First time trying this place and it was amazing. The customer service was great and the place was clean and smelled delicious. So many food options. I ordered a variety of things to try.
