I love coming here to get some tacos or burritos. The food is consistent, and it doesn't take long to get the order. I've called them to place orders or gone up front and had no issues with either one. There are a couple of picnic tables out front to eat at, but I usually do takeout. Food: I've tried almost all of the meat options, but my favorite is the Barbacoa tacos. My partner likes the shrimp and chicken tacos. Side note: I love supporting small family-owned businesses. This is a good one to stop by if you're in the area and craving tacos or burrito. I haven't tried the rest of the menu but I am looking forward to trying them next time I go. read more

Taqueria La Libertad is a reliable five star taco truck. Today I did chorizo and egg and chorizo abd potato. Both were a little greasier than usual, but it doesn't deninish the grade. Good fillings. Flour tortillas are perfect. Not too thick. Reheated. Two breakfast tacos for $5. I use the yellow salsa, which has a nice bite. This is a must eat at taco truck in Austin. read more

This was a food truck located on a corner. The menu had mostly different taco combinations along with burritos and combination platters. The food was made to order and ready in a timely matter. I had three breakfast tacos ($2.50 each). The ones I chose were egg and cactus, egg and chorizo, and egg and bacon on flour tortillas. They also came with a side of hot salsa and a green sauce that enhanced each taco. Each was stuffed and was extremely hot. My favorite was the egg and chorizo. The cactus was interesting as it had a soft texture, but it did not really have a taste. I should have eaten it separate to get a better feel. Will I go back? I would. read more

This Taco spot is located right across from my gym LiftATX which made it super convenient post workout. The prices are $3.50ish per taco which is fairly reasonable. I ordered the chicken fajita, al pastor and campechano (chorizo x bistec). As a HUGE street tacos fan this a typical order for me so I have a lot of data to go off. Overall I actually thought the chicken fajita was the best which is normally not the case. Chicken was crispy but tender and the flavor was fresh and well seasoned. The pastor and campechano were good but surprisingly lacking a bit of flavor. I have had far more delicious tacos when it comes to these 2 proteins but it was pretty good. Additionally, the salsa verde and rojo were lacking big time. Not a lot of flavor on the verde in particular but still made the taco better. Agua de melon was absolutely delicious, very large and refreshing so highly recommend. Service was kind and fast so no complaints there. read more

This small taco truck is a nice stop after Austin Bouldering Project. I had the barbacoa taco, suadero taco, and breakfast burrito. The tacos were delicious, and the green sauce was flavourful and spicy. My friend's favourite was the bistec. The breakfast burrito did not meet my expectations as it did not have much flavour. I was also confused by the price as the total was $13, but that didn't match up to the listed menu prices. read more

It's hard to go wrong on Riverside when you're looking for street tacos in the middle of the night. It's hard cause it's right next to Anita's but we decided to give is a shot and I'm so glad we did. This taco brought me back to life that night, I only wish I ate more. read more

I got tree tacos, al pastor, carnitas and barbacoa. Carnitas and Barbacoa were great and very fresh! Al Pastor was ok but still good! Came with a salsa for each taco and they were spicy and enhanced each taco. I also got an horchata that was a big size and very good as well. I love this place!!! This is my hidden gem in Austin. Great tacos with handmade corn and flour tortillas. Price is right at $2/taco so load up! If you are looking for tasty tacos that don't cost an arm and a leg you found the spot. That being said, you aren't going to find some crazy Tex mex combos here, just amazing prepared meat, onions and cilantro. Yum! Are they the best tacos I've ever had or even the cheapest? Nope but they're still GOOD. They got you covered on your three main meats (barbacoa, carnitas, al pastor) and while they ran a bit too much on the fatty side they still hit the spot. I will say their salsas were a little disappointing though, a tad watery with not too much flavor. I will say the corn tortillas are some of the best I've had in a minute though. The horchata is the perfect accompaniment (not to mention MASSIVE), so all in all, not too bad of a spot to swing by if you're in the area. read more

Other reviews are all lying. I ordered a bistek taco and a Gordita. The "Gordita" was so flavorless and also did not even resemble a Gordita lol and the taco was mid. The food also took forever to come out. Wanted to rlly like this place but I would not recommend. read more

The inner Mexican child in me smiled from ear to ear. These tacos are not only bomb but AUTHENTIC. I Love how this stand is chillin on the side of the road ready to serve amazing food only by a whim would someone take the chance to try it this is why I am writing a review. I was craving several of the menu items since I saw the photos. Woke up hungry so went for a couple of breakfast burritos. I'm giving the place 3 stars because: Positive: 1) Burritos were tasty. I got egg, potato bacon, cheese & the husband got egg, bean & cheese. 2) They were quite large! You're getting the equivalent of at least 3 breakfast tacos with these. Not the greatest: 1) I started calling when they opened (according to online hours) & they didn't pick up for 1/2 an hour. 2) They really were like breakfast tacos, prep & flavor-wise. As much as I like breakfast tacos, the whole reason I went here was because the pictures showed the tortillas all toasted & grilled. Nope. Soft tortillas. Good, but just like tacos with a larger tortilla & folded ends. 3) No masks. Well, the gal who took my card put on a mask *after* she opened the window & was reminded to, but the two others in the truck cooking were maskless. 4) (Not their fault, but...) 3 others waiting for food just outside were maskless as well. If you're being religious about masks & social distancing, might want to wait this one out. read more

A hole in the wall inside the tire station parking lot on Airport Blvd. Taqueria La Libertad offers some great tacos. It was that good that we had to stop by again in the morning for their awesome breakfast tacos. The green sauce has some nice kick to it! read more

Excellent hidden gem on the east side! Not ideal to eat here since it's attached to auto shop but they have seating and a tent for shade. Awesome service and quick turnaround. Cheap and good. Get the breakfast tacos. Have Mexican soft drinks if you're interested. The Tortas and Cubanos are huge. Burrito are decent sized, not big though. Worth a visit on a slow Saturday or Sunday morning/lunch. read more

I'll probably increase to a 5 after giving this little gem a few more visits. The corn tortilla was a bit dry without enough inside to cut the dryness. However, the fillings of the chicken taco were great, and the price is hard to beat. I'll certainly go back. On the value scale, this is definitely a 5. read more

Ordered two pastor tacos on corn tortillas with cilantro and onion for $4. They came out very hot and with a sliced lime perfectly wrapped in aluminum foil and two mini containers of taco sauce. Delicious lunch served by a very sweet woman. I'll be back the next time I'm in the neighborhood! read more

Al Pastor Quesadilla ($11.99, 6/10) - Comes with four quesadillas filled with al pastor meat, plus a side of sour cream, salsa, and guacamole - Portions were moderate to slightly small, wished they were a bit bigger - Wanted them a little crispier, they were hot but not the crispiest, and the cheese was melty but the overall texture felt like a bit of a letdown compared to the rest of the meal - Al pastor itself was very delicious though, that part redeemed the dish - They also have red and green side sauces, the green is super spicy, the red is spicy too but a little creamier. If I come back, I'd probably just get a bunch of al pastor tacos instead and skip the quesadillas. If you're someone who likes super crispy quesadillas, you might want to skip this one too, though it's possible mine just wasn't as crispy as it could've been on this particular visit. I definitely need to start frequenting JNL more when I'm in town.
