They were ok , the service was awesome.. The food was good but not great. Cheese sauce thin and watery. Ambiance was great. Maybe I'm spoiled came from so cal were the Mexican is awesome. My husband and I stopped for the night in Cullman, AL, and discovered this absolutely wonderful restaurant. My husband had the chimichanga and I had beef fajitas. Both orders were cooked to perfection. Most fajitas nowadays have an obnoxiously overdone seasoning, but these were just right. Subtle and savory. This is one of the few places around that has authentic Mexican cuisine. Where else can you get tripe, cactus, or pork skin tacos? But my favorite thing here is the Siete Mares soup. And they bring the chips with 2 hot sauces, green and red, along with limes and onions with fresh cilantro or is it parsley. Either way, the staff has always welcomed me with smiles and good service. I never imagined that we'd bump into truly authentic Mexican food while visiting Cullman. WOW. We're from South Texas and so know this is the real deal. Even better, it's not only done right it's done well. Service was stellar, too. No wonder there was a small wait to get in. Worth your time. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. Where do I even start; the place is in the small side, and it does get full. But that's not even a drawback, it small enough where the waiters have enough time to talk to you and not take a very long time bringing the food out. They are friendly and as I said food doesn't take forever even tho it's dress hot made. I a steak taco, a carnitas taco and a cabeza taco. All were good, but the cabeza were 100% done to perfection. Have wanted to try this place for sometime. We usually eat at another Mexican restaurant in Cullman. Read the reviews and finally decided to give it a go. WOW!! We have been missing out! This was very enjoyable. It was a tad understaffed but that wasn't an issue for us. Very friendly staff and service was excellent. From what I gather everything is made from scratch and this isn't a typical Mexican restaurant where you get your food very quickly. It took a little bit but it was worth it!! Great food! I love the tacos and the sopes - good margaritas too! They have delicious salsa. I've always been pleased after eating here.

My husband and I went for a late lunch on Saturday. The place was busy and service lousy. They had two waiters. One was a big young man who moved in slow moition. The other was a woman who was blabbing with a table of her friends. She waved us towards the tables and said sit anywhere you like. 20 minutes later she was still talking to her friends and the young man sat some chips on our table and walked off. No menus, no drink orders nothing. It took 45 minutes to get food and when we did they brought my husband carne asada - with a butter knife to cut it. Two requests for a steak knife went ignored. The food was good. When I complained about check out about the slow service the woman shrugged and says well that just happens sometimes! read more

We stopped here while passing through Cullman, and I was quite pleased we stopped at this hole in the wall. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. They bring out an assortment of taco toppings out with your chips (lime, cilantro and onion, hot sauce) which all make a great addition to any meal. This has to be the absolute worst experience I have ever had a Mexican Restaurant. My daughter, my mom and I dined there tonight (03/11) for our birthday dinner. There were several factors that led me to leave this review. #1 a glass of water was $3.00 and I think a $1.00 for refills - WHAT? 2. They only had one flavor option for their margaritas and frozen wasn't option. Absolutely no other liquor to substitute for tequila. 3. The chips seemed stale and finally the stars of the show our entrees... My mom got a steak chimichanga and she for the most part was okish with hers. She stated and I tasted the tortilla was tough to cut and the meat was extremely dry and tough and favored kibble. 2. My daughter had chicken quesadilla with minimal complaints. 3. I got the Cody's Quesadilla with flour tortilla and it was awful. The chorizo looked like crunched up extra red hot Cheetos, my steak was also tough, bland and resembled kibble and honestly I just couldn't make myself taste the chicken. My plate was literally almost untouched. Our server I don't recall checking to see how everything was much less asked if I wasn't pleased with my meal. I guess the salsa and cheese dip were the stars of the show. Mind you - I have never given a review good or bad, but I felt this was warranted especially after the total was $66.46 and I still left a $4.00 tip. I asked for a detailed receipt and didn't get one. Just not a good experience at all. 2/10 read more

was super excited to try this place. we came in and it was busy which was a good sign. we waited a normal 20 or so minutes to get seated which again was busy so understandable. got our chips and salsa..and the waitress took our order. about 45 min later I said something to my husband..he said it takes longer because it's made fresh..ok..another 15-20 min goes by and everyone around us got their food some who came in after us..so we asked someone about our order...they never put it in..we saw our waitress 2 times during all this..the biggest issue was no apologies.. nothing from anyone except by some guy that we asked about our order. we paid for our drinks and left..very disappointed in the lack of care and customer service... Hopefully they improve on this because I have heard the food is great but with horrible customer service people will quit coming read more
