Food was really good. Son and I both got steaks. My son ate his whole steak and with chips he was full ended up bringing two baskets of fries home. Both wife and son said the fries were wonderful. I enjoyed my steak half at restaurant and half the next morning for breakfast. The mashed potatoes they have are terrific. Salsa is good over all I thought this was an awesome experience! One guy brought out the tomahawk before being cooked, total of 7 Tomahawk steaks and it looked awesome! You may not always think of heading to a local Mexican restaurant for a steak dinner so I wanted to share my experience. First of all, the pricing ($21 special) for the amount of food you receive is Amazing! I personally always go home with leftovers for the next day's meals. Second, the perfection of flavor and the size of the steak! Third goes out to the service! The staff have all been amazing every time I have eaten here. They're quick, attentive, wonderful at making suggestions on house specialties as well as their specials. Fourth would be a big one for any Mexican cuisine and steak lover, you can have a steak dinner along with complimentary Chips & Salsa!!! Does it get any better than that?!?! If I were to give any one suggestion, it would be to swap out the Pepsi products for Coke but that's just a personal preference. read more

This place came highly recommended, but all recommendations were for steak, but I went on National Burrito Day, so steak was not to be. I read some really good reviews, and I am not sure why they are rated so high. Make no mistake, this place is TexMex, NOT Mexican. I always start with the non-food thoughts, so that is where I will start. I was seated very quickly, by a really friendly staff. The dining area was clean, and I mean, REALLY noticeably spic and span. I was immediately brought chips (from a bag) and salsa (not chunky and likely from a gallon sized plastic container). I requested hot salsa and was brought something marginally more spicy, and nary a chunk in sight. Unlike most Mexican (or TexMex) places, not all combo plates come with refried beans and rice, my platter of 1 beef burrito, one enchilada, and a tamale did not. The food was completely pedestrian, nothing at all special - the filling was bland and poorly spiced. I dumped some of the "hot" salsa on everything to get some flavor. It wasn't' really bad, but no more special than the frozen enchilada I get at the grocery store. I likely will not even bother to try them again for their signature steaks. Doing to a ribeye what they did to a burrito would be criminal. read more

People usually think of Sierra's Mexicanisimo as a Mexican Restaurant, but I assure you that it's more than that. Not only do Alex and his staff do everything they can to make sure you have a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere, but they also have steaks, pork chops, and shrimp that are better than any steakhouse in North Alabama. I recently brought some out of town relatives and when I introduced them to Alex he decided to give us a quick tour of the kitchen and walk ins. We were both quite impressed with the quality of the food we saw. Lots of fresh and organic produce, USDA Prime steaks being cut by hand, and a giant vat of that delicious cheese dip. The hospitality we were shown really amazed my guest and I had to assure him that I've been treated the same way for the last 23 years, as have most everyone who has dined here. True ex/Tex ex. Wife, daughter and went there. I wanted to try the steak I had heard were great.......and my ribeye was fantastic. I almost got in a "discussion" with my wife after she just wanted one bite..........just one more; so did my daughter. My ribeye was medium rare, perfectly charred and seasoned, and served sizzling on cast iron platter. My wife and daughter enjoyed their Mexican food. Both said next they would get a steak.....I agree. Anyway great ambience, attentive staff, fair prices. Only wish they served alcohol. Would have been great to have a margarita or wine.....but not a deal breaker.. read more

Yes, you should eat here! This place is worth the drive from wherever you are. We took a chance and drove from Cullman because we heard how good the pork chops were. We ended up getting two steaks, a fillet and a bone in ribeye. They were awesome! We are very picky about are steaks so for my wife and I to be overwhelmed with how good they were says a lot! The sides, salad, sweet potato, and Mexican potatoes were awesome also. We will definitely be making the drive again! read more

This review is for a visit back in March. My wife and I were in town for a quick meeting and needed to grab dinner. We didn't want typical fast food so we let the Yelp app guide us to a good restaurant. Sierra's Mexicanisimo came to the top of the list. We were quickly seated by the friendly hostess. The interior decor is very lively with paintings and lights giving a feel of a Mexican restaurant. Our drink orders were quickly taken by the waiter and chips and salsa was brought to our table. To our surprise the waiter brought three different salsas to the table. Each had different heat from mild to medium to hot. I liked the medium heat salsa and my wife liked the mild salsa. The chips had a medium thickness and were sturdy for dipping, but the chips were a little stale. I ordered beef burritos and beef tamale. The tamale was wrapped in a husk, but the dough was very mushy. The beef was seasoned just right for me, but the mushy dough dropped the tamale from a 4 to a 3. The two burritos were small and very flat. Again the beef was seasoned well, but the four tortillas were under-cooked. I suggest instead of two burritos they should create one large burrito. The service was good throughout the visit. The waiters visited the table at the proper times and kept our drink glasses full. We were able to quickly get in, order, eat, and pay in time to make our meeting. read more

Sierras Is awesome! Ben Thomas loves this place. He loves the creamy beans, the precious rice, and the bussin steak. The tortillas are so good. Breanna gets the cheese quesadilla because she is sensitive to beans. Ayden only gets beans because he thinks they are so precious. They all got candy and it's so wonderous. We went in for date night. Just moved to Arab and heard it was a decent place to go. Our food was ok but nothing to shout about. I went back a few days later with a friend for lunch. We both ordered fajita nachos and they were i tad above gross. Soggy chips, tons of lettuce dumped on top and just a funny flavor. Neither of us came even close to finishing.
