Today family and I came to eat lunch and we got the raunchy attitude from the waitress before we even ordered. My husband ordered me a super burrito due to pregnancy cravings.But once the food came out it was supr soggy that the Sourcream was leaking through the foil. I asked her for redo or a torta, ill pay the difference but she caught a bigger attitude saying its just sourcream.I told her its soggy and hardly meat inside.She then proceeds to roll her eyes and finally agreed to get me something else.I ordered a regular torta with asada.But once that came out , the bread was wet,soggy and with the wrong meat.My husband was upset cause im super pregnant and needed to eat. This place is in the old "La Bou", at Mather Field and Rockingham. I drive past it all the time on my way to the VA, yet I've never noticed that it was here. Call me "Captain obvious." Today, as I was turning onto Rockingham, I finally noticed the place. I like to try new Mexican places so I decided to stop in. I'm glad I did. The place is not fancy on the inside, but it's bright and clean, and everybody was friendly and helpful. They do have Mexican decorations on the wall, and also a TV playing Mexican TV. They have a large menu. I decided to have the Barbacoa off of the lunch specials menu. It came with the Barbacoa, tortillas, (I chose flour) rice, beans, *AND* a soda as well. In addition to the meal, they also have a chips and salsa bar. The chips were crunchy and delicious, not greasy at all, and they had a large selection of salsa. I chose the avocado salsa,, and also the jalapeño and sour cream. The jalapeño in sour cream was spicy, but it was within the limits of what I care for in spicy. The sour cream helps cut down the spiciness of the jalapeños. It was delicious. As was The avocado salsa. The food comes, and for a lunch special, there was a lot of food. The Barbacoa was tender and delicious. The meat was beyond, tender, and it had a little bit of a tangy and spicy flavor to it, but not overly spicy. I added a little bit of the avocado salsa on top, and it just made it even more delicious. The rice and beans were also very delicious. I thought they were a both a little bit soft, for my personal taste, but I know everybody is different. The tortillas were a decent sized, they were delicious, and they gave me. *4* of them. I had plenty of food to take home for a second meal. For a lunch special, they were extremely generous, the food was amazing, and the price was very reasonable, especially since I got two meals out of it. They have lots of Mexican food choices. I had read that the tacos are really delicious, so I ordered a shredded beef taco on a hard shell. I asked what was on the taco and was told It includes lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guacamole. That was a lot more filling than I expected so I was expecting it to be pretty pricey. I asked if I could order it without the sour cream and and if I could get the guacamole on the side. No problem. $6.75 with tax. I sat at the bar and only ordered a water. As I was walking over to get the water, I noticed they have a very nice looking salsa bar. I went ahead and grabbed some chips. Before I could get back to my seat, my food was already coming out. Just stopped by today and easily one of the best burritos in Sacramento! I ordered the jumbo Carne Asada burrito and it had so much flavor in it! They also pack a lot of food in this burrito so be prepared to get really full! I used to come here all the time but moved out of the area, but I remembered how good their burritos were so I decided to try again and nothing has changed. We've been on a quest to try every Mexican restaurant within 10 minutes of our house (it's not a short list when you live in Rancho) and this is easily the best. The salsa bar has great options--the rojo and verde are top notch, and I recommend trying the creamy jalapeño salsa. Definitely grab some escabeche while you're over there. Their specialty is the quesabirria tacos, which are awesome (made with corn tortillas so good for folks with gluten sensitivity too). I ordered three and it was a lot of food. Definitely could've been happy with just two. But they came with two things--a cup of the stock the beef is cooked in (think au jus but lots more flavor) to dip your tacos in, and a moderately spicy habanero type salsa that has a nice vinegar component to balance the grease and cheese of the birria. Definitely try adding escabeche (pickled vegetables) to your quesabbirria tacos because it'll bring out more of the flavors. We also liked the rice and refried beans, and the kids quesadilla was perfectly cooked (and served at a temperature appropriate for littles). I also tried their house beer, a canned lager that doesn't list the partner brewery, but the address printed on the can is 1709 Del Paso Blvd, which Google Maps says is the location of King Cong Brewing Co. Do with tbh at information what you will. It was pretty good. I know folks have their loyalties to corona, modelo, and pacifico, but if you like those you might like this locally produced beer just as much. Don't mix it up with the other taco place across the street. Los Compadres is the real deal. read more

Called in my order & when got home the burrito ingredients were soaked in so much oil it was tasteless and the oil was even seeping thru the tortilla! Can't believe they would even make something like this for someone to eat. Food is always amazing, they really know how to season the food and give it that good flavor my go to are always gonna be the quesabirrias and or the asada super burrito super yummy, when we just want something small and quick we ask for camarones a la kora as a botana it's so good they have a next level flavor, the micheladas are so good weather it's alcoholic or virgen, the orange and carrot freshly squeezed juice is amazing to wake you up, service is always amazing as well cashiers are so nice and patient when not knowing what to order. Taqueria Los Compadres has a good location, plenty of parking, and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant has a big open layout with a long counter off to the left hand side. The counter extended to a decent but somewhat messy salsa bar. It looked to be popular with the customers because there were a lot of spills that hadn't been cleaned up. It included some nice crisp chips, a variety of hot and mild salsas, radishes, and a tasty cactus salad. My favorites were the avocado and white sauce/salsa which I've never had before. I ordered a bottle of beer and a carnitas burrito. It came to about $15.00, which isn't too bad in the price department. The beer was nice and cold the burrito was bo joke. I attached picture so you could see the size. It was full of meat, rice, cheese, beans, and tomato. It was a little hard to eat because it wasn't wrapped real well. It got a little fally-aparty after a few bites. Overall a pretty good restaurant. There were a couple of hiccups during my visit. read more

It was one of the sunniest days in a while and the smoky haze was not very dense. So I checked out YELP for a place close by that had outdoor seating. So here I am. I walked inside to a very large open space that before COVID had been their dining room. I ordered at the counter, was given a number when I agreed to dine in and was offered complimentary chips and salsa. I found a seat outside and my chips and salsa were brought promptly. Alas, no more bowls of salsa, just 2 tiny lidded plastic cups of 2 salsas - one red, one white. I was enjoying the sun on my face and arms when my meal arrived. On first glance, I wondered where my crispy taco was. I found it under a pile of lettuce, guacamole and sauce. Of course I was disappointed. What's the purpose of having a CRISPY taco when it is no longer crispy? The"guacamole" was nothing more than an avocado that had been made into smooth avocado - not even a hint of cilantro to brighten it a bit. The enchilada sauce had a spice/herb that was unfamiliar to me. It had some sweet undertones, like cinnamon, but it was not that. After a bites, I got used to it. The beans and rice were unremarkably adequate. Besides the sun and seeing families together enjoying the afternoon, the best thing about this place was their playing Mexican Banda music. Their selections were so good that I wanted to get up and dance! . Of course I didn't. I don't want to neglect how they handled theirCOVID requirements. All staff wore masks. All patrons wore masks until they began to eat. I observed staff wiping down tables with a spray bottle and rag. I can't vouch for what was in the spray bottle though. I did observe a new customer pick up a napkin dispenser from an unbiased table and take it to His table. Don't think I would have done that. We live in Reno and every time we come to Rancho Cordova we come here at least twice in a weekend. The food is great, it is very clean and the staff has always been very friendly to us. And they have some specials where you get a free beer with it so can't go wrong there. we always get the next fajitas with an extra side of beans and it is plenty for two of us. We even have some to take home. We highly recommend it. We have never had a bad meal yet. We love it.we will continue to come back. One of our favorite places. read more

Not sure why the bad reviews. Figured I'd give the place a shot since I've had a few of the other locations in the area that serves tacos and authentic Mexican food. Walked in the place somewhat busy for a lunch crowd not too bad but a decent amount of people. Ordered the lunch special two Carnita tacos beans and rice. Tacos were filling tons of meat on them, beans were cooked good and the rice even better- great atmosphere and food came out within three minutes of ordering will probably go back before my trip to the area is over! I think this place is great, I've been here about 7 times and I've always gone on either Tuesday or from 4-6 because that's when they have Street Tacos Taco Tuesday deals and 4-6 pm is their happy hour every day. These are happy hour prices: 1.90 per taco, they stack that chit up. In my opinion, chicken over pork Bc their chicken is nice and juicy. 3.99 for a glass of beer, they have a nice selection on tap. Their tortilla chips are good, perfect crunch and sauces are nice and wide in selection. I like the orange habenero salsa? And the white sauce. Cool and clean interior, outside seating, music is swag, they sell shots if you ask I think. I've also had shrimp Super Burrito and the carnitas plate, these are also good choices. Staff is very nice and I've never had to wait too long. My friend said carne Asada fries was fresh but nothing special, 7/10.(probably bussin with a few beers) TLDR: come 4-6 pm for really bomb chicken tacos and $4 tap beer. I picked Chile Verde as the meat of choice and it was very tender and tasty. The supernachos with carnitas was on another level. We ordered delivery and it took a while for the food to arrive. They had an estimated time of arrival for the food and they exceeded this by 40 minutes. It wasn't the delivery service's fault because it only took 10 minutes to get to us from the time our order was picked up. In spite of that, the food was good! I ordered a chimichanga and it was much as a chimichanga is supposed to be, presented on a bedding of lettuce, with guacamole and sour cream on the side. Salsa was provided for in separate plastic containers. And utensils were supplied as well. I also ordered Horchata with no ice...but my Horchata came with ice. And quite a lot of it too. Just a basic taqueria , nothing crazy. The food has been progressively worse every time visit. The menudo especially, it used to be delicious. Now all you basically getting is a bowl of hot water with some spice added to it. The meat is almost nonexistent and the pata might as well have been all bone. This place had been a long time favorite of mine until recently. It seems no one there knows/cares about their job. My manager placed an order online and another employee went to pick it up. No one at the restaurant counter could find the order. The cashier insisted it was ordered somewhere else. So our employee placed the order again and paid (not knowing the meal was already paid for online). He gets back and lets my manager know what happened. My manager calls and says he paid for an order that was not found in the store and would like to cancel it. Finally the girl lets him know she found the order and that the problem was that it was not processed and that's why the ticket didn't print . He asked to cancel it because it was already re ordered and picked up and he would like his money back. She responds "ok I just processed it" and he said " no I want it, cancel it" she then says " ok it's ready now" and hangs up on him. His bank won't give him the refund because he has to settle it with the vendor, but they won't even listen to us. One of the worst customer service experiences we've encountered, our company will be no longer be ordering from this establishment. read more
