I've been wanting to try this place out for months. I thought it was new; however, the owner informed me how they have been there for several years. The place is located, almost hidden away off of sunrise Boulevard. But the food is incredible! We ordered a Carne Asada quesadilla. The Carne Asada was fresh, juicy, and the tortilla was grilled to perfection! I wish the quesadilla came with either sour cream and/or guacamole. That is probably my only critique. We also ordered a super burrito with adobada, which was very delicious. All of the flavors from the meat to the rice, and all of the other goodies in it were great. Phew, save the eyeliner and mascara for another time because I was tearing up from the "spicy hot" salsa at the salsa bar lol one of the most spiciest fresh salsas that I've had. Still pretty tasty though. :p Aside from that, just an alright Mexican food spot. Gas-station-tier in terms of greasiness (IYKYK). Well-seasoned carne asada but still missing the char taste (had even a boiled-meat texture). Over-fried carnitas (some blackened bits). Large meat portions (especially for the super nachos!). Not much turnover on the tortilla chips at the salsa bar so the chips were a little stale. Wished there was pico de gallo at the salsa bar as well. Overall not a bad spot if you're driving down this part of Sunrise Blvd. and you have a hankering for some Mexican grub. read more

Stopped-by to get a quick breakfast. Decided on a Super Breakfast Burrito. It came out piping hot and also tasted good. The menu said the meats included were Chorizo, Ham and Bacon, however, I did not find a substantial amount of any those meats, seemed kind of light in that regard. Food here is average at best. Cashier who might have been the owner, did come by to check up on our table. It was pretty dead when we went except for one other party. Theres a pool table to hang out and a TV mounted. Free chips but there were not many salsa options or pico de Gallo. read more

Los Burritos Express is smack dab in the middle of a sea of auto recyclers in the industrial part of Rancho Cordova. I was going to be in the area and was hungry and found Los Burritos on yelp, so I decided to check it out. At first I passed the location because I really wasn't expecting it to be between 2 recyclers, but its right off the main road and super easy to get to as long as you are paying attention :) As I walked in, I was greeted by that smell! We all know that smell, and when you smell it, you know you are in for something home made, that smell is Fabuloso!! If you are looking for a place thats hip, Instagramable, and drizzling crema over everything then keep on going. But if you are looking for a solid breakfast/lunch or early dinner, you hit the jackpot. You can tell this place is meant for people working in the area to get a quick quality meal that won't break the bank, everything is home made and you can tell. We checked this place out twice, with a couple of days between. Thats what we do to make sure a place is consistent. The owners were super friendly each time, food was made quickly and was fresh, there wasn't anything that seemed it had been sitting around. You have to start off with the chips and salsa, as you wait, you get a good feel for what your food will be like. The chips were fresh and crispy, tasted like they make them in house. There is 3 salsas, red, spicy red, and green, and they have the pickled carrots on onions along with jalapenos. other than the peppers nothing was overly spicy, the carrots had just enough heat to make them enjoyable, the salsas also had good flavor, I found doing a 50/50 mix of the reds was a good combo, as the normal red sauce needs a little boost in heat. IMO the green sauce is the winner! We love tacos, all kinds of tacos, and appreciate it when a place makes the correctly. The main star of a taco has to be the meat or anything else you are filling it with, not the onions, cilantro, or salsas. You should be able to close you eyes and eat a piece meat and tell what it is, and it should be good enough to where if thats all you had on our plate you would be happy. We had fish, carne asada, chicken, ground beef, shredded beef, adaboda, and papa. And each one was unique, the adaboba and carne asada had a char/grilled flavor to them, the chicken was infused with seasonings and was tender, the shredded beef was crispy and not dry, and the fish was nice and flakey and wasn't covered in batter, light and crispy. The shells were fresh made crispy and not greasy at all, packed full of meat and topped with cheese and lettuce. The fish tacos were huge, some places use a single piece of fish, if you are lucky you get 2, our tacos had 3, and the fish was excellent, I could of used a little more sauce, but thats just my personal preference. The tacos de papa were stuffed, if they sealed them up, they could of called them empanadas. So here is the breakdown. This is what good taquerias were like before everybody wanted a plate that looked good and was covered in sauces vs a plate that tasted good and at a good price. Owners were nice, and place was clean, food was fresh. Prices were higher than the pictures on yelp, but the food quality/taste and portions made it worth it, there are a lot of pricier places with worse food. Would we go back.. 100% I want to try the other menu items, and I would make the drive in from hwy 50 to come back. read more

I had no idea this place existed because of its location and truth is, the city of Rancho Cordova doesn't make it easy to advertise but thanks be to Yelp and the tech age...it came across my search. First off, if you've read any review of mine customer service is the first notice for me and I give them 5 stars! Warm, friendly greeting and since I'm southern if you can engage my humor...and I feel welcome...I'm ordering. My first time I tried their special potato taco...wasn't ready for this deliciousness & they have weekly specials so I purchased burritos for the fam....Wow...delicious, seasoned, hearty..they must cook with love. It's a small place but cozy and they give out gratis chips and salsa!! The owner is super cool, so knowledgeable and seems to always look for ways to provide an overall great experience and service. We tried this place for the first time today and the food was decent, not the most flavorful, but we were fine with it. The problem is we found a rock in one of our burritos and my friend bit down on it pretty hard and felt like she almost broke a tooth. The rock is bigger than the size of a tooth, so it was pretty big considering. If a child was eating this burrito, it could be a choking hazard as well. I don't see any other reviews like this, so I'm sure it was a one time mistake, but the restaurant should seriously consider quality checking their ingredients beforehand just in caee for safety reasons. We probably won't be eating here again due to our experience, but hoping it never happens again to anyone else. read more

The rolled chicken tacos were very crispy, tasty and a good portion. Rice and beans had good flavor without being too salty. Chile verde "Super burrito" tasted great and I really liked the thin texture of the tortilla. Chile verde was tangy with a perfect kick to it. Unfortunately they forgot to add the sour cream and guacamole. I will use some of my extra guacamole from the 3 crispy rolled tacos since they gave me a generous portion. The complimentary chips are light, crispy n salty which are perfect but salsa is a bit watery for my taste. Maybe a pico de gallo in the future? I was in the mood for a good burrito, so I looked here on Yelp. Los Burritos Express was not too far away so I drove over after looking at their details on here. The first thing I noticed was the price of the super burrito was $4.50 more than listed on yelp. I figured since I was here to just go ahead and order it. So I ordered the super burrito with no beans and extra rice, but the guy taking the order seemed to be more engrossed in the sporting event on TV than getting the details of my order. I also ordered a medium drink, but he charged me for a large. burrito tasted OK but had very little rice even though I ordered extra and overall the burrito was a little dry. Will I return? So far, all the food I have tried have been great. They provide free chips and salsa (always a plus in my book). I wish their salsa bar had more options. I stopped by after driving by the place a millions times on my way home. You can see there signage on the corner of your driving south on Sunrise. Anyways, it's a little hole in the wall, mom and pop joint. I ordered their super burrito with adobada and taco salad with chicken to go. Took about 10-15 minutes to complete my order. Grabbed a few salsas from their free salsa bar and drive home. Got home about 40 minutes later and the food was still warm and the taco salad shell was still crisp. The most important thing was the food was delicious! The hot salsa was really hot. The portions were good size. The only small complaint I had was that the pieces of adobada were bigger than bite size and a little difficult to eat in one bite. I'll definitely be back. read more

Decided to give this little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant a try and I was not disappointed. We ordered grilled chicken, asada and adobada tacos, and all the meats were delicious and flavorful. The crunchy tacos were also very good. The elderly man who took our order was very friendly and pleasant. They also provide free chips and salsa bar with any food order.
