The chicken molè came with handmade tortillas and was legit spicy. Couldn't have been better.

I am totally amazed and bewildered that this Taqueria has no reviews yet. It is without a doubt the most legit Mexican food in all of Burien, and Burien has some of the best Mexican food in Seattle. The Taqueria is actually embedded in a Mexican market called La Canasta on Ambaum, but its delicious fragrances drew me from all the way across the street. When you go inside there are pictures you can order from, I went with the chicken Mole which was spicy, savory, and delicious. I have probably tried 25 different molès between living in San Francisco and living in Seattle and this was one of the top dishes I have tried. It came with handmade tortillas which were amazing and they have both green and red salsa in squirt bottles you can pull out of the drink refrigerator. Legit spicy salsa too, yum. This place has everything I love about authentic Mexican taquerias. Everyone that eats there is Mexican, all of the chefs are Mexican, the cashier is Mexican: if you speak Spanish you are VIP. They also have pork adovada which my boyfriend was delighted to find in the Seattle area. It's a southwestern style pork, very spicy and delicious. You can get it on tacos and probably on whatever else you'd like it on. I hope to retire at this Mexican place and eat every dish it serves indefinitely. I hope you will give it a chance if you're looking for an authentic Mexican taco, caldo de mares, pozole, or Menudo. Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. Amazing. Six stars.

Delicious food - I tried the Mole and will be back to try others. Sit-down atmosphere is inside a grocery with all the lovely pine-sol smells but it works for a quick cheap big tasty meal. Big menu/kitchen for such a tiny place. The service was fast.

    Yum!!

Best Mexican food in Burien by a long shot. Don't let the exterior fool you. Come by on a weekend, and watch it pop off.

Was authentic and good. For the amount you pay for your dish the portion size is great. Definitely enough food for days. Great Mexican food!

Instead of enjoying the game, we ended up leaving early because of how we were treated. My wife uses a wheelchair and relies on a trained service dog. From the moment we walked in, the owner, Hilda Ramos, was hostile and made it clear that our service dog was not welcome. We explained that the dog is a trained service animal, but she repeatedly came back to our table to question us, making us feel uncomfortable throughout our visit. By the end of our visit, she told us that our service dog would not be allowed back. The dog was calm, well-behaved, and under control the entire time. We had reserved our table in advance to enjoy the game, but because of the owner's behavior, we didn't even get to finish watching it. We didn't even finish our food or our drinks, yet we still paid our entire bill and left because we no longer felt welcome. As a fellow Mexican, and my african wife, it was especially disappointing to be treated this way. I left feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and deeply disappointed. No customer should be made to feel like they don't belong, especially when they're simply trying to enjoy a meal and are accompanied by a legitimate service animal. I hope the owner takes the time to understand the rights of customers who rely on service animals and treats every guest with dignity and respect. Based on our experience, we will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant. The owner is racist and I will make sure ADA knows about her

I finally made it to Birrieria Tijuana and WOW... I'm honestly mad I didn't come sooner…read more The birria caldo was absolutely amazing - rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned with a homemade taste that you just can't fake. You can tell it's made with love and tradition. The meat was tender, juicy, and soaked up all that deep, savory broth in the best way possible. On top of that, the customer service was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. It really felt like one of those hidden gems where the food AND the people both stand out. If you're anywhere near Burien and craving birria. don't think twice. The chips were fried fresh and were so hot, I had to wait to eat it. They were crunchy and perfectly fried. The bean dip was delicious and smooth sprinkled with cotija cheese. The service was great! Took my order right away and answered questions I had. She then brought out the food for me.

What grabbed…read moreour attention with it was that they serve Huitlacoche which I'd a corn fungus which is a delicacy in Mexico and Central America. It's something that is pretty rare to find with all of the Mexican restaurants I have been to El Catrin is the only one where it has been found. We had it on the side with rice, lettuce and tomato. The flavor for it is mushroom like with a sweet, savory, woody and smoky flavor that is corn like. It was very unique and delicious! In addition to that we got some totally awesome nachos which out of this world! We made a second trip back here and I got their Chile Relleno which totally blew me away! It was fabulous! The tortillas that came with it were simply marvelous! Steve got an excellent quesadilla! The wait may be a tad long but it's so worth waiting for. I really can't praise the food enough! We are located in Tacoma and El Catrin is in an unincorporated Seattle neighborhood and so the drive is at least half an hour on a good day but we wouldn't hesitate in making a trip up here just for this restaurant! I can't say that for many restaurants but I certainly would with El Catrin. Fresh, flavorful and a sheer delight we will be coming here with any opportunity we can seize!
