The service was amazing, the employee explained to us all the prices and sizes of dish. My boyfriend got a burrito (about $16) and it was massive. I got the tostadas (about $17 for 2 loaded tostadas) and they were delicious. We got complimentary chips and salsa, the tortilla chips must be house made because they were incredible. There are no fountain drinks and no water except for bottled water. The restaurant smelled vaguely of cigarette smoke, with no outdoor seating. The food was so good that it made the negatives worth it. It looks like they have a taco Tuesday deal for $1.50/per taco instead of the regular $2.50/per taco. I am traveling and will be gone by Tuesday otherwise I would definitely come back for that deal. The chicken on my tostadas was delicious and not spicy (they have a complimentary salsa bar if you like spicy), and the al pastor on our burrito was seasoned to the nines. 10/10 flavors all around. Was in Tumwater for an event and stopped off with my wife for a bite beforehand. My favorite stops- the unheralded, little secret place with good food . Bring an appetite as portions are crazy. We stopped by for late lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was pretty quiet at that time. We took a bit of time going over the menu and decide what we want to order, the lady at the register was pretty patient and answered our questions. We ended up ordering a gordita and the enchiladas estilo aquascalientes. They first served us some complimentary chips and salsa and the food came out a few minutes later. I was the only "Gringo" in this place. Sunday lunch was very crowded with all ages present. There is minimal parking at restaurant but ample parking at the strip mall nearby. I got a couple of Gorditas with tongue (not on menu but counter girl asked the people in back and they said yes. Also got the "Chico" (small) order of Carne Asada Fries. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you at tables. Large dining area. Very positive vibes in this hole in the wall place with peppy Hispanic music coming from the kitchen. Cold drinks and beers (all Mexican) in glass coolers to the side of the counter. The Carne Asada fries were huge and very tasty. The meat was diced up nicely and the other ingredients fresh. Let me first say there was nothing wrong with the carne asada fries. They were just super underwhelming. I'm not a big jalapeño fan so I asked to have them without. When I received my fries all of the onions and pico de gallo were missing. When I went back to inform them of the missing veggies. The staff here is always so friendly and the food is always delicious! Their prices are very affordable with HUGE portions. They are currently only doing to-go orders, but the sweet lady that was giving me my order said they are planning to opening up next week to dine in! Restaurant was packed, believe church next door just got out. Ordered burrito for the boy and I had the pork both were very tasty. Wife has asada quesadilla knowing we had to much food. All tasted great but think we missed the mark on what to order. Salsa actually had a kick with great flavor and the have multiple, the dalsa from chips was different then the mild Chipotle with s kick that came out with our food. Not an expert on this type of food but if it's good, it's good so here goes...the tostadas de tinga (2 for $5) have sweet chicken but came with beans and very mild green salsa that even that out a little. Lots of toppings and easily a meal although I would get extra tortillas. My 8 yr old liked this one. The guisado del dia sope with potatoes and a kind of gravy on them was very good and more food than expected for the price as well. The Pambazo with those same potatoes and chorizo was large and very good. Although the chorizo is not that flavorful, the other ingredients made up for it. Parking is on the side and kind of awkward but hey, it's free parking. I thought the inside was simple, but cozy and in fact there was a birthday celebration going on when we were there. 1/2 hour before closing two other tables were occupied and a couple patrons came in for take out too. I come to Seattle every other month and when I leave the airport my firat stop is here, amazing food and being that I eat alot of Mexican food in LA, this reminds me of home. I don't know about their other dishes but I would stay away from the tripas here. I ordered the tacos de tripa here and it was clear from the taste and smell that the tripas were not properly cleaned. Also the pieces were not cut or chopped very well, so you basically had long pieces of tripas that were soft, smelly and mushy.
