LOVE Taqueria Los Pinos! We recently became full timers in Arnold and I was missing our good "home style" Mexican food from Corralitos and Watsonville in Santa Cruz County........enter Los Pinos! Every bit as good as what we're accustomed to and just 15 minutes down the road from our house. The flavors are great, fresh, clean and oh so good. Stand out FAVS for us are the Birria Street Tacos, the Chicken Enchilada Dinner plates and the Wet Burrito! Reasonably priced too and fairly quick. Great staff and very decent for the foothills! Some of the items are as good as Pablitos truck in Murphys. Can't beat Pablitos pastor though! Craving Mexican for dinner so we ordered takeout! From calling to arrival, our food was ready and prepared within 15 minutes. There's definitely a lot of indoor seating options available, although on a Saturday night most tables were empty. The lady who helped us was so kind and helpful, she gave us so many salsa options to try. We ordered shrimp and veggie burritos, each one came with salsa and chips on the side. The shrimp burrito didn't skimp on the shrimp, always a plus! I loved the taco salad, the crispy shell was delicious and didn't seem too heavy with oil. Portion size was great too. We have eaten here a couple times, and really enjoyed it. They have excellent guacamole, and our meals are always good. Service is friendly and quick. There is several beers to choose from but I was a bit disappointed that the Sangria is not house-made, but that won't stop me from stopping in for dinner from time to time! read more

Surprise! Good Mexican food in the Mountains near Arnold! I think the food quality is superior to the place in the center of Arnold. I had tacos, a Chile Relleno, and a tamale. The folks are nice their family run I believe. The salsa is very tasty but super spicy, almost couldnt eat it. Carnitas street taco very good. Chile Relleno was also excellent. Wasn't a huge fan of the tamale had hardly any filling in it but the flavor was good. The atmosphere is pretty blah inside but the food makes up for it. Wow!! We've had dinner here a few times. This place is awesome. Far and away better than El Jardin in Murphys. Tonight I had the quesobirria. So tasty. Cooked perfectly. This is a review for their new restaurant next to their taco truck. Food is awesome and they are open often and late enough to get dinner or take out to bring home. My pop and I went to the taco wagon right out front for lunch. Great spot in the middle of the forest, just off the highway in Avery. And for dinner went inside to the new restaurant. Great family that is making some really good food. Super fast service and real friendly atmosphere. Just minutes from Arnold. IYKYK!! Los Pinos taco truck and restaurant is the place to go for authentic Mexican food in Arnold. The food itself has great flavor, you can adjust the heat with various sauces, but you have to know to simply ask. The atmosphere is simple but always has been clean, hence the 4 star not 5. The service is excellent, especially for return diners. They remember your favorite meals and have always been great at suggesting other items to try. This permanent food truck is a staple of locals, seasonal crews and in-the-know vacationers. It's my first stop when heading up to Arnold. Food is delicious, service is quick and prices are reasonable. I love their fresh pico and my go-to meal is the Supreme Burrito with carnitas or pastor. First of all, the employees are very kind and they made us feel welcome right away. This is a family friendly establishment. The food is authentic and delicious! I've had carnitas from their food truck parked outside a few times and enjoyed it. Today we decided to try some to-go from the restaurant and we're disappointed. Ordered carnitas plate which cost $18 and said no jalapenos. Woman confirmed no jalapenos on pickup. Got home and full of large jalapenos with the seeds which made the carnitas very spicy and inedible for my wife. Unfortunately they saute the jalapenos and onions with the carnitas. I also could have just got a carnitas burrito and received the same portions as the entire plate. Oh well. We're just going to stick to our usual Mexican restaurant in Arnold. read more

First and last time better service at a Taco Bell : really hate to say that the waitresses were clueless and were more interested in dancing to music than serving customers.
