Have been here more than a few times,the food is normally decent. I like that they serve a combination of Mexican and Italian food for when you have a few people who are undecided it's the place to dine.I tried the Mexican salmon special this time and it wasn't fresh,tasted fishy... but the lobster ravioli was good and the chicken linguini was okay. The service was ok.the waitress didn't know much about the special when we asked, like how the salmon was prepared or what kind of ravioli was the special? She had to go and ask! The place is clean and the atmosphere was good. I ordered the michelada classic drink didn't like it at all! I think something was wrong with the tomato juice that they put in it! Murphys-What a fantastic place for lunch! We sat outside and had a hard time deciding between Mexican cuisine and Italian cuisine. The waitress told us that the cook does both very well. We decided on the Mexican side of the menu and everything was delicious! We'll be back!! read more

we had a good dinner here. We came Friday night and it was almost empty. We got the taco salad, beed fajitas and meat ball pasta. All were fresh and good. Service was good and fast. It was cold a bit and there were technical difficulties with the gas warmers outside but it worked out eventually. The dog could stroll outside, it was good. read more

Awesome find in the area. Was pleasantly surprised at the food, especially given the quirky Mexitalian menu options. Everyone really enjoyed their plates and dish after dish we were left impressed. From the limey guacamole to the molcajete all the way to the flan & custard filled churros. The icing on top was the warm, friendly service received. The only thing lacking here was (1) some repellent for the outdoors to minimize mosquitos as the sun goes down & (2) some music outside to elevate the vibes. Yes, Gabby's offers both a Mexican and an Italian Menu. No, it is not a fusion restaurant. You won't find Spaghetti Burritos or Chile Relleno Pizzas. What we found was straight forward delicious food that warmed our bodies and fed our bellies. We thought of all the combinations of Mexican/Italian we could order to see how they'd go together but at the end, we stuck to our standard for judging Mexican food. Chile Rellenos. She got a standard platter and I got one with Prawns added on top. We were in town during Murphys Day, the annual holiday celebration somewhat minimized because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Usually, there's a parade down Main Street and the kids get to sit on Santa's lap. Not so this year. They still closed down Main Street at 5pm. Fire Pots were set up in the middle of the street and when it got dark, they were lit to keep people warm as they walked up and down the streets greeting friends and shopping while the shops stayed open late (the streets re-opened at 8pm). Because we had been warned that most of the restaurants would not be taking reservations for dinner and that there would be crowds, we did most of our walking starting at 3pm. When we decided to go to Gabby's for dinner, we walked in and asked what time would be safe to ensure we would get a table. Stephanie told us that 5pm would be okay and she checked in the kitchen to get a couple of questions answered for me. We arrived on time and changed from an outside table to an inside one. It was chilly out! Service was great. The chips were fresh. The salsa delicious, so much so, that we asked for a second container. The food was hot. The kitchen was fast. When it got close to 6pm, I told the server that I'd like a cup of the Ponche. She said that the owner had asked her if I'd like a complimentary shot added to it. I thanked her but said no thanks. This came up because I had asked earlier if the Ponche had alcohol in it. To me, this was an extraordinary attention to customer service that a question asked at the beginning of the meal was still on the owners mind at the end of the meal. Great crew. Great food. This place is THE perfect stop from a long hike at the park. We sat at the relatively private but open and shady outdoor seating area. It is absolutely gorgeous. Customer service is excellent. I can't remember the name of the young lady who served us (Hermana?) but she was very attentive, friendly and professional. As far as the food, this was the most difficult decision-Mexican or Italian? In the end, we went for Italian and it did not disappoint. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. We even took a pic with Gabby (chef). She was very friendly, accommodating and a really nice person. Lots of parking, clean restrooms and plenty of shops/wine-tasting places that are walking distance to the restaurant. As far as mexican restaurants, this is an excellent place. Firstly it is open on Wednesday evenings when most of the town is shut down. It's located at the edge of the little downtown with beautiful foliage to one side and the street and sidewalk on the other. We sat outside where our dog was warmly welcomed. The service was friendly and efficient and she had a lot of tables. She timed everything perfectly. They give chips with a chunky mild salsa. I ordered a red wine and a molcajete, which I've never had before. The menu states that they serve authentic mexican food so I thought I'd give it a try. It includes whole beans, chicken and skirt steak in a flavorful sauce along with miscellaneous veggies. My husband had the fajitas. The molcajete was the best mexican dish I have ever had. The meats were cooked perfectly and were seasoned deliciously. The sauce was so delicious, I wanted to bottle it and take it home. The fajitas were also good. I dream about that molcajete! Our tab for 5 drinks and two entrees with generous tip was $96. read more

We had the Mexican food on our first visit. I say that because I have heard that the Italian food on the menu is good. I am a bit of a purest when it comes to Mexican food. I thought the enchiladas were too saucy and the sauce was nothing special. The meat was grilled chopped chicken which I was not expecting. The beans were unseasoned and tasted like Crisco. Just ate here for lunch. It's really surprising to have such good Mexican food in this area. We ordered the super burrito, super nachos, and mocajete with 2 mango margaritas and michalada mix with modello. Service was good, and they have outdoor seating that I wish we could've taken advantage of, especially on the sunny day. Indoor seating is plenty and clean. The molcajete is a MUST! It reminded us of our Cabo vacation, but better... Their al pastor meat is seasoned just as good as Mexico that we remember. read more

I found this place based on Yelp reviews. The pictures enticed me and the food didn't disappoint! The flavors were on point! I always order a mole plate when trying a New Mexican restaurant. If they can sole mole right than they get my vote! Gabby's cuisine made one of the best mole sauces I've had in awhile. The drinks were delicious and generously poured. We each had a classic margarita on the rocks and we loved them. The only downfall to this place was the lack of service. The servers were very friendly and apologetic, but it was obvious they were understaffed. I appreciated them doing their best but they definitely needed a few more in the kitchen or keeping tables full of chips and salsa. read more

Came here with a party of 7 (3 children and 4 adults) on a somewhat busy Saturday. The service was ok if you're able to make a single beverage last a 45 minute wait because we never got refills. Our food came out in a group of 6, the last plate (for one of the kids) came out last 15 minutes after everyone else's and was too hot for them to eat it right away. Personally, I got the super burrito and it was indeed super...super disappointing. It was large, but mostly filled with rice and beans and just enough chicken to make me attempt to remember any trace amounts of it. Maybe the rice was chicken flavored. For a party of 7 ordering nachos and super (disappointing) burritos, cokes and water we were at a loss at why our bill was $180 until we saw that our "large party" automatically qualified us for the already added 18% gratuity. Wow. Not sure whether they care less in the winter, but this was a huge disappointment. We were already at our table when we noticed the obnoxious TV on above us with nightly news...and volume. A tv is ok with no sound. This was hugely distracting. How do you make bad enchiladas? The meat was dry with no sauce inside, the suace outside was very minimal, and the beans looked nothing like the pictures of other dinners shown. The amount was very minimal of both the beans and rice, which is very unusual for a Mexican restaurant. Maybe we just made poor menu choices? You don't see Elote too often on the menu, so when it was brought up by our server I eagerly jumped at the chance. Elote is simple enough, but so so satisfying. I also ordered two carne asada and one al pastor tacos. When I asked which was their spiciest salsa, the waitress suggested one that really got my hair standing on end. It was delicious, but meant I really couldn't tell the difference between the asada and al pastor. In the end I got a churro for the road which was freshly fried with a surprise jelly filling. The bell peppers and onions were flavored magnificently and were cooked to retain a good crunchiness. My wife had chicken enchiladas and commented on how flavorful the rice and beans were. The service was attentive without being overbearing. Our water glasses were never empty. Granted, it was midday and they were not busy. Overall, it was perfect for a relaxing tasty lunch. read more

This is a dog friendly restaurant. We have a giant dog, nope, even bigger than you're imagining. He is shy around too many people, they like to stare at him. 3x3 on my bill for jalapeños?!? The waitress said each jalapeño was considered a side and they are $3 each; $9 for jalapeños?!? Nowhere on the menu is this found. Secondly, both our meals came with tortillas. We received one pack with two tortillas, which is usually one serving. No problem, I just asked for my tortillas that were supposed to come with my meal. I was charged an additional $2.99 for tortillas that came with my meal! The waitress was no help. Kids are running the front of house of this establishment. (TLDR: meh pasta, great service. I'd only come back in a pinch.) Whoa, I've never heard of Mexican AND Italian in one! Very cool. This review is for the Italian! The bf and I stopped here for takeout dinner after a dip at Natural Bridges. We got the spaghetti and meatballs, the chicken alfredo, and tiramisu. The spaghetti and meatballs was not bad, but I'd say it's about the same quality as that of a decent home cook. The marinara was pretty monotone, and the meatballs tasted like they were kind of just thrown in; they didn't seem to fit too well with the sauce. The bf and I noticed the sauce was a bit milky looking too, suggesting that they actually went for a creamy marinara and used heavy cream. I don't think it was that successful :( The chicken alfredo was pretty bland to be honest. We felt as if the seasoning and parmesan were just forgotten. Luckily the utensil packs in the takeout included salt and pepper, which did help. The alfredo was SUPER creamy, too creamy -- it was reminiscent of a chowder with noodles; I felt as if I were actually drinking cream :( At first, we thought the portion sizes were small, but they did manage to fill us up!
