Food was just okay. We showed up for dinner and security was present, which was odd for a restaurant. Probably not going to a be a repeat.

Found out later that it was formerly Watami. I recognized the window view from the inside. Arrived a few minutes before our reservation, and we were seated right away at a cozy corner. The place had several tables occupied, and it looks like we got there at the right time. Drink and appetizer orders were taken, and we had a little time to look through the menu. A bottle of wine and a couple of cocktails came out and entree orders were taken promptly. I had looked it up ahead of time, and had my sights set on the Paella Valencia. We also got the Grilled Octopus (perfectly grilled and seasoned), empanadas which were smaller than I expected, but delicious (Might have been too much if they were bigger). we also had the seafood-stuffed jalapenos, and calamari for appetizers, and others in our party got the lamb chops, stuffed sole, and salmon for their mains. I finished my entire pot of paella, it was fantastic. I always like when the chef comes around to see firsthand how the guests are enjoying their meals, and Chef Nunez did just that. I think we'll bring other people here next time, there were many other items that caught my eye that reminded me of our time in Spain.

Turns out there was a Christmas party happening in the back, must have been quite the rager. We were referred here by some locals that seemed to know most of the wait staff so that seemed promising. The drinks were average the food was SUPERB. We were a fairly large group (maybe), there were 8 of us. The food presentation was that of a high end restaurant, and it was definitely not my typical menu so that was a nice change of pace. Don't expect a Chilis menu or some other basic chain menu. One downfall, one of the dinners came out about twenty minutes after everyone else's. The manager took care of it which was the decent thing to do, maybe it was mixed into the party room, idk. Overall a great experience.

Came up in a conversation the other day, so thought maybe I should finish it. Came here on a quiet night with some friends. My dinner mates are locals, so they have been here a handful of times. They said that service was up and down, but the steaks were always pretty solid. Therefore, most of us got some red meat. Anyway, all the steaks were cooked pretty well, though my favorite was certainly the skirt steak. Full of umami and juicy as can be, this steak was delicious. The ribeye was cut a bit too thin for me, which why we had to return it the first time due to being overcooked. The new ribeye was cooked properly. The carne asada in the Bandejo Paisa was a bit tough, but extremely flavorful. Rest of the plate was good too. We also had two seafood dishes, which were both decent. Sadly, the service didn't really match the food quality. It was mostly absent for the entire meal. Then when we returned the ribeye, the owner showed clear dismay and sarcastically pointed out that our gray colored steak was edible. Sorry, but we ordered it medium rare. We should not be receiving any attitude for a steak that had zero pink left in the center. Please adjust your attitude. Ultimately, the food is good enough for us to return. However, it's hard to support an owner who does not understand how to treat their customers.

It's not peak season so we always got seats at the bar or the nice lounge area as well. $1 oysters were delicious and well presented! Caesar salad is deconstructed and crunchy/cold which I prefer. We came for happy hour and sat at the small bar. Would recommend coming early if possible if you're trying to snag the happy hour deals, as this place fills up. I kicked things off with a seasonal happy hour beer which I was happy with. My brother got a gin and tonic which was the fanciest gin and tonic I've ever seen made. The bartender really went above and beyond with adding garnishes. We were here for the R.AIRE burger night which was one of the best burgers I've had (apparently award winning - and well deserved). Juicy and cooked to perfection, with crispy delicious fries all for $11.50? Yes please. We also had the crispy artichokes and garlic shrimp, all delicious. The ambiance is bright and inviting here. Our bartender really went above and beyond to explain everything to us and make recommendations as well. One of the best happy hours in Hampton Bays, for real.

We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday and let our server know we were there for a special occasion. He treated us extremely well, bought my mom a birthday cocktail and dessert, and walked us through the menu to make recommendations on what we definitely had to try as first timers. For appetizers we had local oysters on the half shell which were fresh and delicious, and shrimp cocktail which was sizable. We went with the endive salad in between which was crisp and well balanced, the honey mustard dressing really brings it all together. We also had the baked clams which were cooked perfectly, and burrata which was so, so creamy. For entrees we ordered the spicy vodka rigatoni which I think might be the best I've ever had. The sauce was rich and perfectly spicy. We also had the whole branzino which was excellent, cooked just right. The steak frites were also the right temperature, and the truffle fries hit the spot. We had the chocolate souffle cake for dessert which was rich and decadent. If you're looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion, I would recommend this place.
