Taqueria Mi Rancho (a Taco Truck) is my main taco source, since it is only a quick walk from where I work. This is a permanent location taco truck that sits in a gravel lot with a permanent sign by 15th Street. They are registered with the state as a permanent location and I have read all of their great ratings on the state website, which is rare for trucks. There is also a seating area outside of the actual truck, and a glass front cooler housing Jarritos sodas among other beverages. Fans are blowing from every direction, so even in the middle of summer you can stay cool even eating outside. All of the tacos are $2.00. There are about 10 different types of meat fillings to choose from; mostly different variations of pork or beef. Most of the meats are stewed, finely shredded, and tender due to the long stewing process, rather than being griddle fried/seared. I favor the chicken because it is dark meat that is finely shredded and stewed to perfection, covered in chopped onion and cilantro. I would avoid the Barbacoa (shredded and stewed beef) because it tastes consistently gamey. They give you a side of lime and a size slice of avocado, as well as homemade chili sauce. Depending on the type of taco you order, you will receive red or green sauce. You can also order your taco gringo style covered in lettuce and crumbled cheese. Tacos are not the only items served, but I recommend them the most because they are cheap, healthy, and tasty. Next time you are in the area stop by, they are open late and are open on the weekends.

Cute little Mexican joint. Prices are reasonable and food is delicious! Parking lot is kind of small but you can do street parking

Bland food, poor service, nice decor…read more At first I was impressed by the nice decor and subtle ambiance but with the service I was then disappointed. My food took an hour to come out, everyone's food came out 20 minutes prior to mine. I ate in a group and a few orders were also wrong. Once my food came out I barely could eat! So bland and unseasoned! This was not Hispanic food! Not even good enough to take home. THE FOOD: wow I started making loaded fajita tacos with 3 tortillas and luckily the sour cream could mask then taste of the steak. The veggies were fresh but once they were gone, tasting solely the fajitas it was near intolerable. Very bloody tasting and unseasoned. Next I went to my rice but oh god... I had to spit it out. It tasted like sand. Old, moist rice that looked appealing but don't be mistaken.... TO IMPROVE: make better food, better service, work with your kitchen, ask employees to smile more and not look mad and rude. More music? Improve service.

So disappointed. We drove over an hour thinking we were going to Habaneros to have our fav Mexican…read morefood and ended up with one of the worst meals we had. The menu items are half the selection it used to be. We had the enchiladas and the food was so bland and had no flavor whatsoever. There was no seasoning like cumin or other traditional Mexican seasoning, making the meat, sauce and other items bland and no authentic taste. The salsa was ok but no chunks of tomato and just like gravy. The chips had no substance to them and most were small broken pieces, bottom of the bag. The only thing going for the place were the drinks and our server was attentive. For the price of the meal...$90+ for 2, we wont be back anytime soon. So sad to see a classic fade away.
