Bland food, poor service, nice decor At first I was impressed by the nice decor and subtle ambiance but with the service I was then disappointed. My food took an hour to come out, everyone's food came out 20 minutes prior to mine. I ate in a group and a few orders were also wrong. Once my food came out I barely could eat! So bland and unseasoned! This was not Hispanic food! Not even good enough to take home. THE FOOD: wow I started making loaded fajita tacos with 3 tortillas and luckily the sour cream could mask then taste of the steak. The veggies were fresh but once they were gone, tasting solely the fajitas it was near intolerable. Very bloody tasting and unseasoned. Next I went to my rice but oh god... I had to spit it out. It tasted like sand. Old, moist rice that looked appealing but don't be mistaken.... TO IMPROVE: make better food, better service, work with your kitchen, ask employees to smile more and not look mad and rude. More music? Improve service. read more

Avocados (you'll always be Habeneros to me ) is one of my favorite restaurants. We go there once or twice a month. Perla and Angela are so sweet and the food is always awesome. They accommodate my cranky friend like it's their mission. She's cranky everywhere but she's never cranky when we go to Avocados. I don't understand the poor reviews and I'm sorry not everybody enjoys it as much as we do. read more

Right around the corner from the house we rented. I was looking for a beer and some delicious Mexican food! This place has it! We were seated promptly and chips and salsa kept flowing. Our beverages were topped off if they got low and overall everything was fast! The portion was huge and the food was delicious!. The chicken quesadilla was loaded with grilled onions and it was decadent! The bathroom was clean. Chill vibes here. I had the server get me a Yuengling to quench my thirst!! Just based off of the guac, chips, and salsa. I wouldn't recommend to my friends. The margs are ok - kind of sweet but super killer for $4 only! I don't have much to say beyond this. I probably won't come back as the chips were stale, salsa was bland and vinegary, and the guac was not super soft and not seasoned. This is thee best authentic delicious Mexican food restaurant by far that I have been to! The waitress was very attentive and quick. Soft spoken but helpful when ordering. Such a great menu! The Margaritas were amazing and I mean you can tell no pre-mix is used here. WARM chips and salsa were delivered with our drinks. I had the stuffed chilies, my hubs had the Carnitas and Tamal, OMG delicious! If you are looking for a fairly new spot to take your family or a date Habanero's is the best place to go. The serving size is a healthy one so come hungry. Happy hour serves huge Margaritas for 4 bucks! C'mon guys ya gotta try this place and skip the Cantina on the island. read more

First visit...there was an "odd" smell walking in...but the place was super busy. (and it was a Thursday night). Our meal started with chips and salsa...they were good. We ordered Cadillac margs with Cuervo gold....yum! We sampled the queso fundango, guac, chicken soup...soup is a home run...it's a huge low cal meal in a bowl. I am a vegetarian and I basically couldn't have anything off the menu. Every place i've gone to get enchiladas have accommodated me vegetarian enchiladas but this spot couldn't! i also had to reorder since I couldn't get them with no meat and the waiter was clicking his pen impatiently saying that i had to choose something else but there was literally nothing vegetarian so i ate the rice off my boyfriends plate which he also mentioned his chicken was tough and not good. read more

Great spot! Parking can be a little bit of an issue during peak hours but the food was delicious. Each plate cam with a tortilla crisp bowl full of beans. The sauce on each item was delicious. We certainly had plenty to eat. The only criticism I had is the salsa was a little bland for my taste. Would still certainly recommend! read more

This place has earned its low star rating. It was our first time here and we will not be back. I just paid $20 for the smallest carne asada plate I've ever been served. I forgot what I had ordered when it got delivered because it looked like a kids menu item. Small, tough steak on one little plate, smelled like it had just been seasoned with powdered chicken bouillon? And then on a separate small plate was a tiny helping of rice and beans. No guac, no sour cream. The burrito that we ordered probably had more steak it in, but was also still somehow mostly rice. Another $4 for a soda water off the gun. Bradenton is already lacking so much as far as dining out goes and what little there is is just so overpriced and below average. Makes the drive to St. Pete's or Tampa worth the while. read more

This is one of my top three spots to come have lunch with my coworkers! It would be one of my favorites period, if it was closer to home! It took me a while to write a review because the first time my meal was a bit salty, and the chips were stale but I wanted to give it a few more chances before I made my decision, (especially because a lot of locals love this place). I can officially say that I'm in love with anything that has their queso in the menu. 9 out of 10 each time the food has been great. My favorites are the Senor Hambre meal, lunch or dinner.. the dinner one is huge! So I recommend it if you're very hungry or would be okay taking some leftovers home. I also love their skinny senorita (not in the menu) same as the senor hambre but without the rice & beans. Both so good! I have tried some other things on the menu and it was good but my heart belongs to their queso. I also love their delicious chips & salsa which they give you as a starter complimentary! Restroom is decent size, clean. They have a parking lot that is shared with other establishments and can get busy but you will still find parking. Service is always great and quick unless they're busy, then food might take a bit longer especially if it's during lunch time which is understandable. They don't offer delivery but they do have take out and they also sell gift certificates which is a great! I will need to come back after work or on the weekend to try out their margaritas which I hear are really good! read more

Haven't been here for 2+ years. We sat in a booth close to the bar. Our waiter was also a bartender. We felt like he was very very inexperienced. Not attentive either. Other staff were more attentive than he was. He forgot my order and another persons order. Then got both wrong but I was the only one to tell him. I ordered steak quesadilla but it came with ground beef. Other person burrito was grilled steak but came with ground beef. He didn't say anything. Margaritas were ok but not memorable. Server was excellent but pretty much everything else was just below average. Chips were over cooked, like the chicken in my entree. I don't know why restaurants try to be cheap when they shouldn't. We decided to try it, we went in to order, as website was not working, which was fine, The problem starts with the food, my husband ordered the Texas fajitas which was $20 and good amt, except for he didn't get the tortillas. How do you forget these? Taste was bland. There wasn't anything wrong with my chimichangas they were great value, the problem was again, bland flavor. With the appetizer we got the beef queso dip it was like almost $10 and it was greasy with no flavor. It was a waste of money. read more

I am still in search of good Mexican food in the are. This place was meh...okay. Not much flavor. Just because you wrap a protein in a tortilla and throw cheese on it doesn't make it Mexican food. I had the triple combo with a Chile relano-it was okay, too wet, not enough batter or much flavor but good and cheesy. A ground beef enchilada was good and the best part of the plate. If I go back I'd get it again. A dry chicken enchilada just meh. The refried beans were good and rice was dry also. I gave this place three stars but they may be a four. First of all our server was great! The staff hustled and this place is well staffed and busy! So you see, lots of people like them. I didn't realize when I ordered that this is not actually a Mexican restaurant...... it's tejano. I grew up in Texas and no restaurant has ever really captured tejano food well but that's not the point. I didn't find out it was tejano until I started asking why the food was... different. They food was good, but not great. I noted that the carnitas were prepared well but without the seasoning and fat ratio content of carnitas. If you're going to sell carnitas you cannot get too far from what makes them the worlds yummiest entre. Same for each dish we ordered. They were good, they just were not as good as their authentic recipes. Now whether the difference was due to artistic interpretation or a technical deficiency, hard to say. I think for most people you will enjoy your food, like our friends did. I left with too many questions to call it a four star. So there you have it. My whiny review to a restaurant most people may love. I'll ride off on my snowflake now. read more

This is with out a doubt the worst Mexican foot I have ever eaten in the US. It was really bad. Not even one star.

From the moment my wife and I sat down we were disappointed with this place. We did come in during rush (6pm), but it did not seem too crowded and there were plenty of empty tables. I observed about 6 wait staff who appeared dedicated solely to serving tables. Our chips and salsa came immediately, though the chips tasted stale, which I've never experienced at a Mexican restaurant. It took about 5 minutes before an unenthusiastic waiter came by our table. (My wife overheard another patron complain to the manager about not being served either) He provided me a drink menu and informed me there was only one size of margarita, which I had also never heard of at a Mexican restaurant. I decided on Strawberry, which didn't taste horrible, but it didn't have even a slight taste of any alcohol. Main entrees(Enchildas Verdes and Pollo Monterrey) came hot and average, nothing special but not disappointing. The chorizo on the monterrey was delcious and almost earned the place an extra star. I couldn't justify it though with the completely underwhelming and disappointing experience. I could not recommend this place to anyone who values the quality of service they spend their money on. read more

Horrible sangria. Tastes like Hawaiian Punch. Replaced with a glass of Pinot Noir that was undrinkable. It must have been open for a month. The queso fundido is jar queso with chorizo on top, not oxaca cheese as the menu states. Fajitas were pretty good. Service was friendly and good. read more
