After 4 visits here, I finally feel like I'm equipped enough to lay down the right review for the TT. This restaurant, being in the middle of downtown Gainesville, has some serious curb appeal! The sidewalk patio is a great option if the weather is good, but if not, the indoor seating is trendy, comfortable, and inviting. For appetizers, their guacamole is one of the best ones I've ever had...seriously. Their bowls and salads have been excellent, and I will try other dishes as time goes along. The service is top notch, and every experience has been super good. This spot has been a winner for me, and I hope it is for you. PS- I have always been seated pretty quickly, so that's a nice plus! Give them a try.

I work in the square so I'm usually dining here for lunch. At first it was my go-to until the food quality started to become less appetizing. I usually get the fast-east bowl but lately the lettuce salad they add on top comes out old as it if it was from another day. I'm usually very understanding but after getting sick from it twice, i quit going. Unfortunately i really liked Michelle at the bar but to prevent getting sick, i stopped going. Great vibes tho! 8/10 overall.

"Beans and rice" but no rice

Overall poor experience. Ordered to go the Tsunami trio, got a side of rice and beans and they wrote "so sorry, no rice tonight" on my beans container and then did not offer any alternative to not giving me part of my side that I paid for. I didn't check my order before leaving so I got home to find I had been given no other food in replacement. The actual tacos I got were not really that good, very basic. We also ordered the bowl and it was dry and missing the sauce, and oh yeah, it had RICE in the bowl! Even if it was a different rice that came with the rice and beans, they could have given the same rice that came in the bowl. The actual restaurant has a very nice vibe though!

Attentive staff. Group of 5 were seated promptly. Interesting menu. Lots of different and fusion flavors. Bowls and tacos were the recommendation and we had both. Beef bulgogi is not what I would have thought of putting in a taco but it was delicious. The blended margaritas were excellent as well.

Such a cute spot! Everything was so delicious! First time having Yuca and it might replace the fry for me! Friendly staff that answered any questions we had. I can't wait to go back!

Went there during lunch and service was quick and friendly. Ask for a table outside when the weather is nice and comfortable. Meal came out in a timely fashion very flavorful.

What a lovely place to go for lunch. Delicious options for all taste buds & budgets... Interesting & tasty concept of mexi & Polynesian hybrid dishes. Our servers were very friendly and helpful. The specialty cocktails were the best. AND you can take it in a go cup.

Guava Cooler was great. House Rita was good. We love the apps, Fried cauliflower and empanadas!! We both got the taco plates. Short rib and shrimp were very tasty. Fish and rich man steak were good. Waiter and staff were friendly. Atmosphere was nice. We walked around the square and then hit the ice cream place next door!

Tried TT the first time with friends who loved it and knew I was a foodie. Got here didn't look packed but had to wait they said 5 min and we were the only ones waiting. I guess we needed reservations because several four tops came in after us and we're immediately seated so I know better next time but it ended up taking 20 to 25 minutes before we were seated, but we were OK because we are enjoying each other's company, but it was a long time seemingly and we were still the only ones waiting for a table Is in the booth in the back, and the waiter showed up fairly quick and got our drink order and brought the menus. My friends kind of knew what they wanted but really peruse the menu to see what something new they could try and recommend me. The initial iced tea and a beer Came within 10 minutes, but the waiter was a little preoccupied most of the night and it kind of went downhill from there. When we are ready to order, it did take about 10 maybe 15 more minutes before the waiter came back to get our order and my friends needed more tea and I was ready for another beer and that's when it took a while. We ordered appetizers with the drinks those came after about 30 minutes just edamame And fried cauliflower. I kind of expected those within 5 to 10 minutes max. Actually I forgot about them. They were brought up by a server not the waiter, but we kept seeing the waiter go to other tables, getting selfies and spending a lot of time socializing walking by us multiple times still waiting on more iced tea and another beer and the food came and the food was good it was not Anything I would write home about, but I liked the idea of the trio and the quadruple choices and by then we were out of drinks again. We begin eating, and again we were pretty thirsty after a while, and my friends were out of iced tea again so we even moved our glasses over to the end of the table and ended up telling the waiter literally eight times can we get more tea? We need more ice tea... we were all very patient and just glad to see each other which saved another star deduction when my friend finally had to get in the waiters face and said I've asked for iced tea several times can you get it now and he finally got it. By then my friends are now apologizing to me for bringing me to a place that they love and I was OK with, but the service was definitely provided by a waiter a little bit to preoccupied with himself and his social activities. I'm giving four stars because the place was clean and I know my friends have been there before and been happy so maybe just a bad night for the waiter or just a bad waiter. That happens. Unfortunately he was the one that paid the price as my friends picked up the bill and did not tipping , which we all hate to do but if you don't get a tip, it is not a reflection of the food. It's a reflection of the service. When you're trying to Marie good food with good service to get good results, pick the right people. I'm a nice guy, so I'm giving four stars because I don't think it's proper to rate the place simply based on the behavior of one waiter, who just wasn't in the the game. There are so many places now downtown Gainesville to pick from and I've tried several and been very impressed and the old standby like collegiate grill which I used to go to in the 80s for lunch and it's still right there near the corner. Downtown was packed we had to park on the fifth floor of the parking garage, which took us quite a while, parking and leaving but no worries there it's Gainesville it's up and it's all new. It looks great, you need to come downtown and see the new Gainesville. I've been here 40 years and now that I live in Winder it was a treat to go downtown and we still enjoyed our evening so I do recommend the restaurant the food was fusion Asian and Latin American if I could put a definition on it agreed to the choices now available downtown. Highly recommend!

Everything was great. Was not crowded which was not expected. The nachos were excellent. A perfect mix Asian and Mexican. Fried wonton chips as the nacho chips, short rib and all the nacho toppings. We had several tacos and all were great. We tried the shrimp, short rib, fish and chicken. Sauces were flavorful. Everything was delicious. Reasonably priced and casual ambiance.

Wow! I'll start there. I'm not sure what our hesitation was or expectations were when overlooking this place previously but I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for something new and nice! We were dressed up and it was lunch time so my wife, daughter, and I stopped in for a late lunch on a Friday. The service was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming as we stated it was our first time visiting. We had appetizers (fresh guacamole and chips), cocktails (watermelon mojito), main courses (tacos, and a noodle salad bowl). Our daughter ordered shrimp and a cheese quesadillas off the kids menu. We really enjoyed everything we ordered and will definitely return when dining on the square. Five star!

Kind of run the mill Asian food. If you want something a little more authentic I would recommend going somewhere else.

Our waiter was pleasant, attentive, and genuinely tried -- so none of this reflects on him. We tip regularly, and we still did, because the issues we experienced felt more like management and kitchen pacing, not server error. The biggest problem was the timing of the food, and it was honestly awful. Our soups and appetizer came out almost at the same time, which I could have overlooked -- but then the entrée was dropped on the table immediately after the soup, with no pacing at all. It wasn't even our waiter bringing the food; it was other staff members just setting plates down without checking where we were in the meal. Because my entrée was seafood, it cooled down quickly while I tried to finish the earlier courses. Then the scallops came out undercooked, partially clear in the center. When I mentioned it, the waiter said it's a common complaint because they don't cook them long or they fall apart. He took them back, and they came out more cooked -- still not great, but at least edible. The dish itself (with black bean hummus, corn, and avocado) wasn't worth the price. The corn tasted like cold canned corn, and overall the entrée just didn't feel special. My husband had the spinach, chicken, and bacon salad and enjoyed it. Both soups -- tomato basil and butternut squash -- were delicious. The brie rosemary dip was just okay. There were a few flies around the table, which was annoying, and the inside is a bit dark, so more lighting would help. I can see myself coming back to try more soups, salads, appetizers, and burgers here, but I'll avoid the dinner entrées unless reviews become more consistently positive. There's definitely room for improvement, especially with pacing and kitchen execution.

Alright, this is one of those times that I must say some honest words that aren't all glowing and…read morepositive but I shall be fair as well. This is a good restaurant on the verge of greatness, short version. The longer version reads like this: First, the service here at Sanctuary on the Square is warm, fast, a pleasant feel. And the space itself is cool, on an awesome little small downtown square, so lots of positives to mention. Now, I LOVE tapas. IMO it is a cuisine tailored to the show off chef, but that also means it must be done with flair, beauty and flavor. LOTS of flavor... and that's what was missing here tonight. The goat cheese croquettes were nice and the shrimp scampi was too, but is "nice" what the kitchen is hoping to hear? I'm thinking not. Even the blue cheese on the gorgeous wedge salad was a tad underwhelming. Three dishes and I did not finish even one of them. Now, to be fair, I have very high standards and a breadth of food experience, so if the kitchen insists I expect too much, they could be on to something. And honestly I'd bet this was a mid-week off night, so ultimately I suggest you give it a try and decide for yourself. For me, though, it came in just under the standard I'm looking for. Cheers until the next one!

She reminded me of an airline hostess with her hair perfectly coiffed and her uniform perfectly pressed. So we were impressed from then on. The tables were tastefully designed. The ladies were given handbag stools so their purses wouldn't touch the floor. WOW. That was a first for me! We ordered something we had had before but was not on the evening menu. We asked and they delivered exactly as requested. There were 4 people in our party and there were no issues or complaints all evening. Only complements. That's rare. We enjoyed the server and owner's pleasantries . We will be going back soon. I give Luna's 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend it to you wholeheartedl. By the way, diners sat at every table. I'd recommend making reservations!

This is a review for the Easter brunch only…read more I'm sure my grandparents would've loved this place if they were still around. You got your white tablecloths, rooms full of retirees, and a vibe that hasn't changed much since the Reagan administration. Unfortunately, there was none of that live music that this place is known for. My family and I came for the Easter brunch buffet @ $55/person. The menu looked great: herb crusted prime rib at the carving station, shrimp and grits, Belgian waffles, deviled eggs, bourbon glazed carrots, cheesecake dessert squares. But the reality was that it's more like an upscale hotel breakfast. Safe, mostly bland, and probably exactly what the "usual" crowd there was looking for. The bacon was overcooked and shriveled. The deviled eggs didn't even have any paprika. And who puts a giant vat of syrup BEFORE the waffles? And their signature strawberry punch would've tasted way better chilled or iced instead of being kept at room temperature. The prime rib was what made it all worth it. It was tender, juicy, cooked just right, and the horseradish took care of their seasoning problem. That carving station is what saves the day along with the fantastic staff. Even the manager was great to talk to. I just wish the rest of the food was better than "meh." A couple of tips: call for reservations, there's no online booking. Parking is annoying because of the app. If you don't have a walker, just use the giant free public lot one block over on Main Street. Also, the "Order" button on their website goes nowhere. Maybe just replace it with "Menu," Luna. Looks like Mother's Day is getting the breakfast buffet brunch encore, so if you want to experience what I did, go for it. I probably won't be back even though the regular menu looks interesting.
