Taqueria Xochi in Navy Yard is such a beautiful restaurant! My co-worker told me that she loves their chips & guacamole so I gave it a try & it was fresh & flavorful. I come in to eat the tamarindo cascabel xochi wings that has a sweet tangy taste with house lime crema or tacos de lengua which is tender & perfectly cooked. The drinks are delicious & they don't taste watered down or make you feel like they pour too much. The strawberry morita margarita is my personal favorite because it's sweet & savory. I came during happy hour one evening & they had a special for food & drinks. It caught my eye that they had a prime ribeye costra with a side of salsa tatemada negra that was smoky, a bit spicy but flavorful. My servicer, Rodrigo was amazing! He was very helpful & kind. He checked on me to make sure I had everything I needed for my meal & helped me decide on the prime ribeye costra (the best decision ever).
Review for the Navy Yard location! Came here for the very first time before the Nats game today (08/08/2026) and it was awesome! Our server Diego was very helpful and answered all of questions regarding gluten free options for my husband (celiac) and service was fantastic. We arrived at around 5:00 PM and it was starting to get crowded once we arrived. All of the tacos are gluten free on the menu and they only use corn tortillas. If you're looking for a place that is authentic definitely come here! This is not a Taco Bell. We ordered 3 different tacos so we could share. Highly recommend the Suadero (brisket) and the Al Pastor (pork)! The Nopales (cactus) was alright as a vegetarian option but I am not sure if I would order it again. Loved the sauces that came with our tacos as well #TeamSalsaVerde. Not pictured but I also ordered a Mexican Coke that comes in a glass bottle which absolutely hit the spot on this humid summer day! Atmosphere was very chill. They played many songs (like Bad Bunny and Carol G). Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well! This place is about a 5 minute walk from the Nay Yard metro and about a 10 minute walk to Nats Park! Overall we are excited that we have an authentic taco spot we can visit that can accommodate my husband's gluten allergy AND a great alternative to very expensive stadium food. This was a cute place! It is authentically Mexican so be prepared for no flour tortillas. The food was fresh and tasty overall. When we went is was slow, the lunch rush had not come in just yet.
Taqueria Xochi is such a cute restaurant! I loved the fun décor and pops of color throughout the space. They also offer outdoor seating and are in the perfect location to grab ice cream and take a stroll afterward. We started with the chips and salsa, and the salsa was so good that I wanted to bottle it up and take it home! The esquites were fresh and delicious, especially with the crumbled cheese on top.The true star of the show was the Xochi Fries with chicken tinga. They were loaded with flavor and easily my favorite item of the meal. I definitely need to come back--especially to try one of their soft-serve margaritas!
I saw this place's margarita soft serve on Instagram and k ew I had to come. Unfortunately, it's only at the Navy Yard location so it was a bit of a trek from downtown. But when I was in the area for an event at the Yards, I knew I had to stop by, I ordered a classic margarita during happy hour, which came with a chamoy/tajin rim. It was an excellent margarita, especially at the $9 happy hour price. Not too sweet, just the way I like it, I probably could have used a straw because it was hard to get the last bits out of the bottom from underneath the crushed ice. For food, my friend and I shared the quesabirria and esquites. Both were kind of mid, to be honest. I enjoyed them, they weren't bad, but I don't have a desire to eat either again. If I went back, I would get something else. The margarita soft serve, though... A+. 10/10: someone could use a little practice on the soft serve machine in making a prettier swirl, but it was delicious, especially with the chamoy on top. My friend got watermelon and I got a swirl which I think was watermelon and mango but there may have also been guava in there. Liked it no matter what. While waiting for my uber, I made the last minute decision to get tees legged cake to go. At $10, it's kind of steep for something in a grab and go section, but it was really good. Just not sure it was any better than the one at Whole Foods for half the price.
We visited Taqueria Xochi Navy Yard with a group of friends. The Xochi hour, which is offered each day, is a great deal with a variety of drinks and eats. We enjoyed the beef birria nachos.

Relatively new addition to the Navy Yard food scene. Super friendly staff. The food is high quality and hits the mark. Line the birria tacos. My kids always ALWAYS get Xochi fries with chorizo. Delish. Prices are good for the Navy Yard area and You will often find me here.

Came around lunch time and it was pretty empty on a rainy day. Limited street parking. Consider the garage close by. Service was attentive and friendly. Our food came out quick. Overall a 5 star experience. It looks like a fun place to watch the World Cup! I saw signs for a time limit and encouraged eating while there during the World Cup only.
I was sooo excited to try this spot and was severely disappointed. We did come in around 7:45 and I believe they closed at 9. We decided to sit at the bar thinking it would be helpful and service would probably be quicker. The bartender was too busy trying to cleanup/close the bar area that he didn't properly take care of us. He was cleaning almost on top of our food/stuff. The food was meh. The elote had so much mayo on it so it was alright at best. The torta was dry but the hot sauces they gave us made up for it and made it edible. Added flavor and depth to an otherwise underwhelming dish The birria, what they are known for and what is most popular was okay at best. The meat was tender but lacked flavor. By the time I got to it I was just over the meal. The one thing I can rave about and say they got right is the tres leches cake!! It was delicious and very fresh and they wrote the date on the container of when it was made. I did really appreciate that. Overall it was meh. Would I be back? Idk honestly, the hype wasn't there for me but try at your own risk!

It's cute inside and nicely decorated. There was a sign at the front that told you to seat yourself and order at the kiosk or at the bar. We chose to sit at the bar. We ordered some agua frescas, esquites, birria tacos, and a torta. We also had tres leches for dessert. The most remarkable part of the meal was the tres leches. It was delicious. Everything else was just okay. Not sure where the hype comes from. The esquites had way too much mayo to taste the corn, cheese and other flavors. Also, things were just dirty... the counter was not cleaned when we walked in. I asked for silverware when the food came out and the bartender grabbed some silverware that was all dirty. He proceeded to wash them in the sink behind the bar and I just asked for plastic utensils instead. We asked for plates since we were sharing and he wiped them off with the rag that he was wiping counters and stuff with. We put napkins in the plate to cover it. It seemed like the bar was acting separate from the kitchen...because why is the bartender washing dishes and silverware. Maybe we didn't order the right things...but might be back for some tres leches to go!

Me and my friend came here for the first time lastnight and had a GREAT experience! So good that I've been recommending to everyone I've came across to come by! The food and drinks were amazing, and our host Raul was extremely polite, patient, and attentive! And I loved the fact that Raul was able to still provide us with exceptional customer service despite the fact that he was attending to other tables!! But the restaurant itself was beautiful, perfect for pictures and the music was really nice too! We will definitely be coming back again. read more

This place was actually insaneeeeeee you have to go. Tacos are comparable to authentic Mexico City tacos, guac was incredible and the quesabirra holy I couldn't get enough. We had Raúl as our server and he was perfect. 10/10 experience already planning our next visit. read more

Among the best tacos in Washington, D.C. are at Taqueria Xochi and now they have a location in Navy Yard. Next to Bluejacket, this taco spot is spacious and comes with a surprisingly robust cocktail list too. Walk in and order at one of their tablet stations or just sit down and scan the QR code on the table. Within minutes, your food comes. I enjoyed the elote since it's literally corn, mayo, and cheese. Mix it together. It's full of flavor. The birria nachos were filling and comes with a dip. The Mexican hot chocolate was among the best in the city. read more

So this is a personal reflection. Came here with a friend during happy hour but - known for their authenticity there's no lettuce, tomato, pico do gallo, salsa... nere. But I got sick from my birria tacos- not making it out the establishment. I chalked it up to an upset stomach and didn't say anything especially bc my friend was enjoying their happy hour tacos. But a friend of mine went a few days later, without knowing my experience and also got sick! So idk may not be for some. read more

they have soft serve margarita and other cocktails. outdoor patio and indoor seating available, bar seating inside. I sat at the bar and service, drinks and desserts was quick. it's nicely decorated and a street over from the waterfront. individual spacious bathrooms inside for customers. tip is already included in the bill. read more
Taqueria Xochi has great vibes and a lot of energy. It was noticeably busy, especially compared to the nearby Korean taco place and Nando's, which always seem empty and a bit puzzling in how they stay open. I ordered the mulitas, two of them for $16. The food came out warm and satisfying, and I enjoyed the cheese quite a bit. You get three different salsa cups, each distinct, and they were a highlight. I especially liked the smoky sauce and the salsa verde. The radish and cucumber that you assemble yourself were a nice touch and added freshness. The chips and salsa were strong, around a 4.5 out of 5, with good flavor overall. There were servers, but ordering online was faster. The menu was not very optimized, and I really dislike QR code menus, which would be my main complaint. It is a bit expensive, though that feels true almost everywhere now. The staff was friendly and super attentive, with self water pour and service was normal speed. read more

Work nearby and 10 of us went for lunch, very solid tacos and agua fresca. They also have multiple flavors of fruit ice pops for $5 that look delicious . . . once it's a little warmer out though. read more
