We came here on 04.23.24, after attempting to have dinner at a local brewery that doesn't serve alcohol. Parking lot space - good luck finding one. This place is always packed to the gills with hard working locals looking for a satisfying meal at a great price. My go-to when in NM - enchiladas, Christmas-style. This place does the unique, and honestly genius move of not only using two salsas on these, but of also using two different cheeses that complement each salsa and flavor profile. Red sauce gets yellow cheese; green sauce - you get the white. Fantastic. Beans and rice also good - but I saved my appetite for the enchiladas. Oh, and the chips and salsa? Superb. Tasty Mexican spot with classic plates. Came here after visiting the Carlsbad Caverns and we had a delicious meal. I opted for the camarones a la plancha while my friend got the adobo pork plate. The shrimp was grilled to perfection and went well with the sautéed onions and green bell peppers. There was a small side salad with avocado slices on the side with the rice and beans. Complimentary salsa and chips were provided. There is a small cash discount but credit cards are accepted. Parking is available. Service was friendly but very slow. It's good for families. We had the most fabulous meal here! My husband and I were looking for a nearby Mexican food restaurant while visiting the area. This rated the best so we thought we'd give it a whirl. Yes, it has a bit of a kick but not too bad, unless you can't handle any heat. I ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla and my husband ordered The Chile Verde. The shrimp in my quesadilla was perfection and accompanied by a creamy, delicious guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. My husband's Chile Verde...oh my lord! When I tell you the meat was tender, I mean so tender it nearly melted in your mouth. It was packed full of flavor and was accompanied by fresh tortillas, beans and rice. The portions were such that we decided if we are ever able to visit again, we'll order the same meals and split it in half so we can enjoy a bit of each. The vibe is inviting and relaxed.
