I am a regular weekly customer and for the first time in almost 30 years I had to do my own hair. Normally I would of panicked as I don't own any shampoo or conditioner as they do my hair every week. However, I reached out to Jake my hair stylist (who's amazing). Having not bought any products in years I really didn't know what to purchase for colored treated hair. Within minutes he got back to me and told me what I needed. I contacted the salon and they took my order over the phone and my payment. I went to the door and there was my package ready for pickup. Then my roots started to come in and I really panicked. Called Jake once again, the salon not only put my color together for me to do at home, but everything i needed was included and a video I could watch on how to do my own hair color. Needless to say It came out perfect! Elements really showed who they are and how much they care about their clients. Even though I had to do my own hair no fault of theirs. They made having no contact and the safety of myself and salon effortless. Talk about really stepping up to the plate when the country is in crisis. This outstanding salon is owned by Paris who made sure everything was in place and ready to go for the salon clients. You couldn't ask more from this salon. Paris put out an email explaining all the precautions being done to assure our safety and that of her employees as they start to open up now. I haven't been back in salon yet as right now no blowouts are allowed by the state of Maryland. But I have no doubt after watching the video of all the precautions they are taking to assure the safety of us and staff I will be back. I really want to thank Paris and Jake for being their for me when I needed them most. Jake made sure I was comfortable doing my hair especially my color and if I needed him I could always call him. Paris made sure that all precautions were taken and showed that the safety of everyone is being done. This salon never stops amazing me with the level of professionalism they show in good times but even more so during this difficult time for us all. Bravo to all at Elements of Style!

Mind you I went for a wash, trim,flat ironed. It is now 2025 and my hair is still messed up. I have been trying for FOUR YEARS TO GET ME EDGES BACK!!!! That's not even the worst part my hair used to be to my chest guess what its at MY FREAKING SHOULDER!!!! Not only was the result completely different from what I wanted, but I also had a hot curling iron dropped on my arm and after hours of bleach on my head they also felt like it was a good idea to hold a blow dryer less than an inch away from my scalp, which left my scalp feeling sore for weeks after the appointment. I also ended up paying almost double the amount that I was originally quoted, which I'm sure had to do with the fact that there was more bleach used than necessary. This cost me $320 when I was originally quoted $170, keep in mind this was just for the coloring, I did not get a haircut. I also would not get a haircut here ever again because a few weeks prior to this appointment, I got a haircut here and the FRONT pieces were at least 2 inches different in length (which makes no sense to me since that should be the easiest part to see?). I reached out to the salon and spoke to the owner via email and received no compensation but instead an offer for a $75 voucher that could be used there in future appointments, which is nothing to me since I will not be going back nor would I recommend this salon to anyone that I know. Between the poor results, inaccurate pricing, scalp discomfort, and lack of accountability after, I recommend taking your hair elsewhere.

I am thrilled that Aaron avoids the bleaching process that every other stylist has used on my dark, straight hair in order to get the right color of highlights. I came in for a spray tan and unfortunately ended up with noticeably orange hands. It's been 10+…read moreyears since I got a spray tan, so when the tan was on my hands at the salon, I assumed that was how it was supposed to be until I got home and saw it was getting way too dark, and some parts of my hands were still pale where the tanner didn't go. The employee never had me clean/wipe my hands off during or after the procedure. Additionally, the inside of my calves appears to be missed but that is much easier to fix at home than other areas that were too dark. I called the salon the next day for advice, and was told someone would call me back, but no one ever did. I ended up having to spend more money than the original service just trying to fix it on my own (Both in tanning my calves and in trying to erase the tan on my hands), all while preparing to be part of a wedding party the next day. I understand that mistakes can happen, no service is perfect. But how a business responds to those mistakes is what really matters. Being ignored after reaching out for help was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. A simple call back could have gone a long way in making me feel appreciated and less alone in the situation.
