We decided to eat inside the market and as we sat at our table, we had a lovely conversation with a gentleman next to us and got his favorite recommendations. We decided to follow his lead and ordered a Combination plate and a pot of Chai. Or combination plate was large enough to share. On a bed of fluffy basmati rice was a skewer of beef, chicken and lamb. Salad and dressing also on the plate. D E L I C I O U S ! Also I have to say, (after living in Turkey when first introduced to chai), this was the BEST Chai I've ever enjoyed! The tea had fresh mint, dried mint and sage, all giving layers of fragrance and enjoyable flavor! They also had Kunafa ... an all time favorite dessert! It was cool out for Florida and I immediately thought of Moroccan chai/hot tea. We'd been to the market here many years back, but had never eaten at the restaurant. A perfect day to try it. We first went into the hookah bar on one side of the market , but it was a bit too smokey for me. So we went into the market through which on the left there is a room with tables and chairs for the restaurant to dine in. We had a lovely conversation with a gentleman who was just finishing his lunch. He told us he comes here everyday. After describing his favorite meal choice, that's what we decided to order. We ordered first a medium pot of chai/tea. The owner, Assad (sp?), told us later when we asked that they add mint, dried mint, and sage to the pot. The tea was so aromatic and warming. We each had several glass cups -- with added sugar. To share, we had their mixed grill. There were 3 skewers -- one chicken, one beef, and one kofta kebab (ground meat). The meats were served over rice with a bit of salad on the side. Small containers of salad dressing and tehina were on the plate, too. I added some sumac (my favorite lemony spice) to everything. The food was very good and we left not a crumb. We were surprised to learn that the gentleman we'd previously chatted with paid for our dessert before he left! We got kunefah (kenefe/knaffe) -- my husband's favorite. It was nice and cheesy in the middle. And then as we were leaving, the owner gifted us a traditional special Ramadan "sweet" pastry. We were too full to try it there, so we brought it home for later. He said it has walnuts inside. We look forward to returning here for more middle eastern delights. Food: 2/5 We ordered the mixed platter and substituted the salad for fries, which they do for free. The lamb felt overcooked and maybe so was the chicken. Both were kind of rubbery rather than tender, which is what I usually expect from Mediterranean restaurants. It also wasn't very flavorful. They also gave us three sauces and the garlic sauce was my favorite. The rice that the platter came with was also delicious. I don't think I would have been able to eat any of the dish without the garlic sauce. They also brought us extra garlic sauce for free, so that was nice. Service: 4/5 The waiters/servers only speak Spanish so it was a bit difficult to communicate if we wanted to substitute anything or if we had any questions but they were both very nice. We did have to hunt them down to ask if we could get a table though. It seems like they also have to run out the take out orders outside too, so that is understandable. Ambiance: 1/5 The tables were covered in plastic sheets that looked like plastic bags. The were all also mostly dirty and torn in places when we went. This place might be good for take out but not really if you want to sit down and eat. It feels a little run down and all the walls are covered with shelving to sell products form the grocery store they are connected to. I guess it's not really a restaurant by itself and it is more of a grab and go place attached to a grocery store. They did have cute Mediterranean decor though. read more

We tried this hookah place two nights in a row. It has seating inside and outside. The place itself isn't very big but they have a full Middle eastern menu that you can enjoy along with hookah. When we arrived, there was no seating inside and there was a weird smell inside too. So we sat outside and ordered their mint flavor hookah along with some Moroccan tea. We also tried their chicken shawarma and shish tawook wrap along with fries. I liked the food. Service was good. Our server was fast and we didn't have to wait for the hookah or food. The hookah was good but the second night when we came back, we sat inside and the hookah that night wasn't good. So I guess it depends on who is preparing it. Overall it's a chill place. Came here with a big group while we were on vacation to get some halal food. Was skeptical about coming because of the lack of reviews, but glad we decided to come. The service was really good and the owner was very friendly and accommodated our needs. I ordered the chicken shawarma, and most of my family ordered the beef shawarma sandwich, and they were pretty juicy and the white sauce was delicious. Overall, quality spot. My family and I are on vacation and stopped by for sandwiches before our flight home and ordered their shawarma sandwiches the beef falafel and chicken. I myself ate the lamb shawarma and it was so delicious. The only unfortunate part was my sandwich wasn't hot even though it was brought out when it was done. The fries portion was very little too. Beside these two little mishaps everything else was superb. I'm so glad that I searched online for Middle Eastern food and chose this restaurant! This place is pretty cool, mellow and calm vibe with beautiful lighting around. Me and friends spent like 4 hours and couldn't even realize the time. A server name Naz helped us, we ordered kibeh balls, hummus with pita and falafel. The only inconvenience was that they left the door open for a while and it got hot. Very cool place, we found it thanks to yelp and went there around 12am one Saturday night that we were bored. The hookah was awesome (it lasts and the taste was great), the people there seemed cool and relaxed, everyone was into their own conversations, nobody was too loud or obnoxious, it was awesome to just chat a bit, smoke, and lay back. I've been to other tarboosh cafes, and this is by far the best service and nicest environment I've found within the franchise. Beautiful setup inside as well as outside seating available. As for the hookah, they burn easily for 3+ probably could go 5 hours without switching out the hashish... And they do very well keeping the coals lit. read more

Probably an awesome place to chill if you're not black. Hookah was done in less than 15 minutes everybody else's hookah was still burning and going strong. I had to get a refill extremely quick and the refill didn't last long either. Definitely felt like I wasn't welcomed in the establishment. Really like that we have a good Arabic restaurant and grocery store right next to it. Me and my family used to go down to Sunrise to AL Salam to eat or shop.Now we don't have to since they have fresh bread on Mon,Wed and Friday. I will be coming here often.Foods great as well and it's not as big as AL Salam but I think it's new maybe in future they can expand Inshallah. read more
