Great new place on Broadway replacing the tired Pizza Buffet. Order and sit casual vibe. Meals are incredibly delicious! Our party of four tried a number of items that included vegetarian, lamb, and beef. They were all great. Out of everything the lamb and hummus appetizer was agreed as the best. If you are eating in I would advice ordering a number of items for the table and just share everything. Service was simple and friendly. We felt very welcome The only negative is that the fountain drinks are very, very expensive. A serving is $3+ and they are very clear on the no-refill policy. The price needs to drop or pull the sign down. Can't have it both ways. Going forward we'll stick with water. Highest recommendation! You should try and also support the connecting market. TEMPORARILY CLOSED due to a drunk driver slamming into the side of the restaurant with such force that the wall was demolished and the drunk driver's car ended up inside the restaurant. Thank goodness this was at 11pm on Sunday (Jan 30 2022) when the restaurant was empty. This will be closed for an indefinite period. These owners, Salam and Aseel Bunyan, are such nice people who came from Iraq. Their first restaurant, Goodness Land, burned down several years ago. They reopened in another location, had a successful business at that spot, sold it name and all to another Iraqi family and moved on to open Tarbush Kitchen a couple of years ago. This has become one of my favorite places to get takeout from. Love, love, love this place. I always get the Mshakal Iraqi platter and it's soooo good every time. It comes with several different proteins, a side salad, rice, and a pita. Great price for how much food you get. Their falafels are some of my favorite in town. I am usually not a fan of falafel, and I think theirs probably just comes frozen, but it's now one of my favorites to get there. Most other places in town that have a similar dish, do not include the pita and garlic sauce which is a great addition to this meal. I also have to add that their shawarma is amazing. We stopped here for something different than the usual Western diner / meat restaurant we've noticed during our travels. Thank goodness for this place!!!! I haven't had any Mediterranean food since leaving NY over a month ago, so eating here was like que Ching a deep thirst that no burger joint can help. The staff here are super pleasant and don't rush you through anything. I love their "enjoy first" then pay philosophy even tho it's an order at register and sit down to wait kind of place. My handsome date had the Iraqi sandwich with lamb served with fries, pickled veg, and hummus. Wow wow the lamb was so tender but had a well balanced Spicy kick. The pickles were so zesty. I had the mixed salad dish and was thrilled with all the salads, falafel, dolma and pita bread. The pita bread was soft and fluffy. The salads were all delicious I could t decide which was my favorite. Definitely come give this place a try read more

I probably love all of the appetizers this cuisine has to offer, as long as it doesn't have eggplant, I'm allergic. The eggplant salad and baba ganouj was for my boyfriend. I love dolmas and these were perfect. The falafel was just the perfect amount of crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The salad was good the hummus was so good, creamy and full of flavor with an exceptionally spicy red sauce on it. The heat really grows after the first bite, Great flavor. Loved the chicken and rice, can not wait to try new menu items and get my hands in some tabula !!!!! The customer service was the best! Tarbush Kitchen is located next to Kabul Market and has plenty of parking out front! They also offer takeout and delivery that you can order online. I was really craving a healthier meal for lunch one day and came across reviews of this restaurant and their Mediterranean salad caught my eye! I was already on my way when I ordered online using this app, but unfortunately when we got their the restaurant wasn't open yet. I called their number and they answered saying that they were going to open in 15 minutes- I blame spring forward for this mixup. Anyways, I ran some errands and then came back to pick up my order. Everything was freshly made for me when I got back, and I even got an extra falafel right out of the fryer for waiting. I added a package of 3 baklava to my order when I saw them up front at the counter - they were so yummy! The rest of the food was really flavorful and the dishes we got - the Mediterranean salad and the mixed salad with Falafel were all vegetarian ( not sure, but possibly vegan as well) Next time I support this business, I would love to try some of their lamb dishes and I'll probably get it delivered! read more

This is the best food I've ever had. I highly recommend the mixed salads with falafel which comes with the eggplant salad, which may have been my favorite dish. I've had Tarbush Kitchen on my radar for awhile and of course I can't just order 4 dolmas for delivery, so I also got the chicken shawerma. Everything was delicious. The chicken was juicy, plentiful, and beautifully seasoned, and I especially enjoyed the bed of long grained rice. Enough food for 2 meals. The dolmas did not disappoint either. I wish they would have thrown in some pita bread for the hummus, but I have homemade naan so I'll survive. I am already looking forward to my next order. What an amazing surprise to come to Boise and find an authentic Iraqi restaurant! I have had food from all over the Middle East, but having specifically Iraqi cuisine was a treat!!!! Very pricey for ground chicken made into a kebab. I've always had Chicken Kebabs made with cubes chicken breasts, so these were more like Chicken Kafta. Rice pilaf nothing special and side salad was really small and average. Everything tasted fine, but wasn't what I was expecting and and not a great value. read more
