Fantastic Experience! Ben showed up early for the job, and was very prepared. He was very thorough with his inspection, and brought up several great points I had not even thought to consider. They have state of the art equipment that detects insulation issues, and temperature variations. He did a free termite inspection without me having to ask, even though he was about $50 less than the other two estimates I got for the inspection in the first place. I had the report in hand with all of the photos, and recommendations very fast! Less than 24 hrs. The report was well done, and easy to understand even for me, and I know nothing about homes... He even included pictures and sizes of items I need to replace in the report so I can easily take it to Lowes, and purchase the items without research. Worst people to possible work with! Ben is completely unprofessional. He did not complete his scope of work in the time frame that was promised. Then when demanding payment he called us disgusting names and made physical threats. Trust me when I say do not hire this company to do your inspections. Ben is clearly on drugs. Had Ben Schern from Target Inspections come and inspect a home my wife and I are in escrow for. He was extremely thorough and investigated every detail of the house. He took pictures of everything he found and patiently explained what it meant. It's a HUD home so HUD had already done an inspection, but Schern discovered electrical and plumbing issues that HUD had missed. He was very easy to talk to and broke everything down simply for us. This is our first home purchase and it was great to have someone who really took the time to help us know if this is the right investment. We feel a lot more confident about what we are buying and what we can expect to spend to get the house up to code. read more

I was buying a commercial property and I needed the building inspected as well as environmental studies. I had been calling around getting proposals. Since the property was located in a environmental low risk area it was suggested to me I could just get a historical record analysis. If that showed any red flags then I would need an ets or phase one study. The historical records analysis was going to cost around $500. The property condition report proposals were all coming in at over $1000. I found target inspections. The environmental records review was INCLUDED in his report and his property condition report (inspection) at a thousand dollars less than the competitors! I wasn't impressed just because he was offering a better deal (tho that was pretty impressive) but he was able to come out to do the inspection quickly and Ben was just so knowledgable! For instance He could tell by looking at the building materials if asbestos samples needed to be taken. For things that he wasn't an expert on like wells (yes there was one found on my property) he gave me referrals to people who could help me. Long story short, I'm impressed. I will definitely be recommending and using Ben and target Inspections for all my future inspection needs! read more

Just don't expect a response after you pay. I'm in the process of buying a house, and had Ben come out to inspect the house. He did a good review and confirmed the HUD inspection. However, my bank asked to have the structural review separated from the report. Monday: Called Ben, he said he could separate the report. Wednesday: no response, called and sent email as close date is at risk Thursday: still no response, called both numbers and left message Friday: still no response, Closing is now delayed, and I need to hire another home inspector to come out and do the same work read more

I used Ben to complete a Net Lease inspection. Things started out a little rocky as he didn't confirm he was available until the day of the inspection, but was prompt and did a wonderful job of completing the inspection and getting me all of the paperwork I needed to move forward in the lease negotiations. The problem came when I received an email at 10pm from him stating that he was "SUPER PISSED OFF!!" and I was "DELINQUINT" because I had not paid my invoice. The invoice was given to me 3 weeks prior with no reference as to Payment due now or Net 15 so I had assumed it was a Net 30. I paid the invoice via online immediately and sent him an email telling him it was paid but that I was taken aback by his unprofessional demeanor and would not be referring him to any colleagues. He proceeded to call me names and continue to berate me saying, "good luck with your bad attitude". Not sure if he was drunk or on drugs, or if that's just the way he is, but I'll pass on the uneducated, unprofessional attitude that comes along with Target Building Inspections the next time I need an inspection done. read more
