I know they think the validate-your-parking signage is large and clear. It's not. About one of every five people forgets to validate. But then when the automated system tries to charge them $12 at the gate, they get out of their car and walk inside. During that time, more cars get in line...except one in five of THOSE people has ALSO forgotten to validate. So the line moves forward...and then stops again. It took me 18 minutes to get out of the lot last week. It took me 12 minutes to get out of the lot yesterday -- eight of which were spent behind one person sitting in his car at the gate, refusing to get out, move, or pay. I'm not shopping here in person anymore. The parking gate completely ruins it. Trader Joe's across the street doesn't have this problem because they pay a human to be able to look at a receipt and not be a freakin robot. read more

Do NOT use curbside here if you're expecting convenience this place turns it into a complete inconvenience. This is now the FOURTH time I've placed an order that was quoted as "ready in 2-4 hours," only to hit the 4-hour mark and be told something completely different. Today, I called the store and spoke with Gina, who told me my order wouldn't be ready until TOMORROW. Apparently, any order placed after 5 PM automatically gets pushed to the next business day but that's not stated anywhere on the website. What makes it worse? I'm literally in the store now picking up the items myself, and there are employees standing around chatting and on their phones. Clearly not busy just not motivated. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told I couldn't even get their name. Since when is that confidential? Completely unprofessional. I've managed stores before, and this is not how you run a business. If it's slow, you fulfill orders and take care of customers not push them off to the next day for no reason. This is the only location I've had this issue with. Even high volume stores don't operate like this. The selection here is also pretty picked over, which doesn't help. I just moved a block away, and it's unfortunate I'll have to drive farther for basic necessities because this location clearly lacks management and accountability. Based on other reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue. Do better. This location needs a serious overhaul. read more

Terrible security/gate guy. Paying for parking through the QR code/app is impossible when there is NO CELLPHONE SERVICE (atleast for Verizon carriers) under the garage. It's a shame to belittle someone by telling them: "next time read the signs" when it's already a stressful situation with a line of cars behind you because your phone, again, has NO SERVICE and that's the only way to open the gate! And judging by reading other reviews, the "signs" telling shoppers to validate inside are very small, I didn't see them. Plus this was my first time shopping there so had no idea what this guy was talking about. Regardless, validate or not, relying on an app/QR code to pay is silly, because not everyone can get phone service underground. read more

I like that there's a City Target in Westwood for convenience and that they validate parking. The only thing I'm frustrated with is that the app will report having 7 of an item and then when I get there, they're actually not in stock any longer when the staff kindly checks. read more

So I'm giving this store four stars because unfortunately it is overrun by students and there is a combination of encampments that I've been set up down Weyburn. There's been a lot of security and unfortunately homeless people coming in and a lot of theft. I hesitate to bring my children here, but unfortunately, this is the only real convenient place to come without going to Santa Monica. Their service is great when you are able to flag down an employee. The selection is pretty good considering Valentine's Day is almost sold out. And of course they have their buy one get one sales, which I'm always on top of. Don't forget your app discount. There are a lot of benefits to downloading that app so I would get on it and stay current and up-to-date on all of the special offers and promotions. You may be pleasantly surprised. read more

When I say RUN don't walk! I literally mean RUN, this coming from a marathoner. This Target has been absolutely serving the cutest fits to be comfy on GAME DAY. I want to see the shelves emptied and everyone in the stands at the Rose Bowl!!! Bring your entire friend group and scoop up every last piece. When I said college town Targets get the most on point stock, I meant it. I seriously can't keep out of here lately. The cutest dry fit tanks and light weight crop sports bra tops by all in motion. If you know me, you know I'm obsessed with a onesie option and they have the cutest little shorts onesies by wild fable. Active dresses with built in shorts and matching sets by joy lab. Take my money!!!! All of it. The items fit just as cute if not better than other brands that are 3-4x as much. I've picked up so many options and found the cutest football hair clip. They have some very cute clear bag options with nice straps, socks, hats, hair accessories, you name it. Everything is so reasonably priced here, with occasional 20% off sales on certain active wear and most recently I found a couple cute little tops that were 50% off. Highly recommend if you're looking for a couple new pieces for the season, or 20!! ;) read more

For the fourth time I am stuck behind a huge line of cars because the parking system is messed up AND the employees at Target again tell me that they cannot do anything. I've had the worst experience with target , I got a gift card for Christmas, when I went to use it , it's been used in different state , I called the target company and I was told they can't do anything unless I go to file a police report . BEWARE of this new parking system!! I popped in to buy something. Took all of 20 minutes. I had to register my license plate, email address and credit card. Was charged $22!!! The first charge looked like an account set up fee for $9.99 and the other was for the parking time $11.99. Meanwhile the store advertises two hours of free parking but does not tell you how to get it!! There was no prompt to scan your receipt or anything like that!! I have now wasted at least an hour trying to get the parking company to refund and will probably have to put in a dispute on my credit card. Safe to say I will never go back!!! Love shopping at Target, especially for certain things ... They sell Starbucks bottles (big 32oz bottles) for a fairly decent price compared to other grocery stores! I love that! Also the produce section is really nice too. Especially the fresh fruits, I found it very tasty. Cashier can be frustrated sometimes, especially when asking about the Red Circle membership and I tell them that YES, I signed up already, I ordered from the website too, and I actually got some CIRCLE points, showing it from the email I received from Target, and at the cash register, of course, it doesn't work! Doesn't matter how many times I try, cashier is telling me I need to sign up! Lol ... no, I don't, I already did. Bottom line, I don't waste time figuring out what to do. I am not a frequent customer at Targets wherever they are located ordinarily. However, I am obsessed with MATCHA in a green bottle from the Califia almond milk people. It is my "cheat" on my choices list of substitute treats instead of imbibing sugary delights. This drink is like a heart and gut healthy delicious massage for my mental and physical state of mind. HOWEVER, it is not available anywhere in my immediate neighborhood as well as in several Whole Foods and several Gelsons supermarkets! So, I went online with a Califia "real person" to chat about where I could find it! She mentioned the Target on Weyburn Ave. It is less than 1.5 miles from my home and IN MY COMMUNITY! Woo hoo!!! So, I immediately jumped in my car and drove over there. Easy peasy... Right? Well, although the store looked rather small from outside, when I walked in, it was enormous. I had no idea where to find the food, much less, the non-dairy choices. All I saw was aisles and aisles of clothing for people of all ages and lots of stuff for kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms... I was overwhelmed. It opens at 7a and at 8a, no one was shopping besides me. And, it took me forever to find an associate to assist me ... and to find a cart. Having said that, I did finally find what I was looking for and I purchased 5 of them. ( I bought extra to give to my pal Mer because she told me about this product... I have been back several times and I even bought some organic chicken tenders to use in my daily recipe choice. It was fine. Next time I go for my MATCHA drink, I will check out other food options to buy there. Not sure if the prices are more or less than my RALPH'S FRESH FARE supermarket. Oddly enough, there is a Ralph's here next door to this Target. I just have to stay focused because I am easily distracted by all the options! I will write another review when I do. TIP: the parking garage actually scans your license plate and you must enter it on your receipt to get it validated. Not sure how I feel about this. But, who am I kidding? My phone already tracks my every move and records everything I do. Maybe this helps catch criminals that may have stolen cars? I have no idea. However, I found it disconcerting ... Been a college student here for 3 years. Gonna keep it brief. Prices are extremely inflated in the college area and workers are not friendly and rarely available to open the items that they lock up. Had a particularly bad experience today (my 21st birthday), where they would not take my ID; convinced that it wasn't real when it's a vertical California ID (fakes aren't vertical). Had to shake off the interaction I had with cashier (very overweight man) and customer service desk when I know (because I have a friend that used to work at target) that there are ways for them to validate IDs besides scanning them. I mean let's be real, we all know people with good fakes that work there, so the fact they wouldn't take a real ID is just ridiculous. Wasn't worth my effort to argue so I left, but left a really bad taste in my mouth. read more

This was my first visit to Westwood Target. The store was clean, a nice array of items and plenty of helpful employees. The one-star here is for the parking check-out procedure, a complete nightmare - read on if you would like to know why. But first background. Before exiting the store, I followed the designated procedure and input my license plate # at the dedicated I-pad monitor inside the store. There was no response to indicate $$ was owed. Since first time at this store - I asked a nearby Target employee - does this mean - no fee is owed? He confirmed. I then proceeded to my vehicle and drove to the exit gate finding the gate would not open. An impatient man right behind me starting honking his horn and yelling - "move forward - the gate needs you to be forward to open." I moved forward until almost touched the gate and the gate still did not open. I then looked at a sign displayed at the exit. It presented a Q-code for people to pay parking fee. I then thought - well, maybe the employee was wrong, I must owe a fee. I could not capture the Q-code from my seat (because had moved forward) and had to exit my vehicle to capture the Q-code on my cell. The man behind me was having huge melt-down and started yelling "F-ing B-tch" and I said, 'look, something is wrong and I am trying to resolve it.' I got back in my car and started to move through the Q-code screens and went to input my credit card. As I did so, the screen redirected me to log-in to my bank, which was weird, but thought okay - whatever - I wanted to resolve this no matter what it took. I started to log-in to my bank account but then the PW was not accepted. I returned to the credit card screen and tried to input the # again. Meanwhile cars were piling up behind me, honking their horns, the guy behind me was having a psychotic break-down kept screaming F-ing B-tch," and other horrible things - other drivers started yelling too as I tried to quickly move through the Q-code screens. A kind woman approached me and asked if I needed any help. I hurriedly explained the circumstances as I still was trying to re-boot the credit card payment. Then I finally realized, there was no amount owed (!) and decided to phone call the # posted on the sign. Before I could dial it, the gate opened. What a nightmare!! I realize its not Target's fault that the world includes unbalanced, very stressed out people who demand fast everything or melt-down into a nasty mess, but honestly, this experience was 100% horrible and extremely beyond-beyond stressful. The Q-code may work at restaurants or with other applications, but exiting a parking lot - 100% NO! An employee should be stationed near the gate to help out in case some glitch in the parking matrix which obviously was what happened. I remain puzzled to exactly WTH caused this issue and will likely not return to this store b/c now have PSTD about that parking lot. Very grateful for the kind woman - hope you see this - thank you so much for responding in the way you did! You are a kind and fine human. May all blessings be yours! And sincere prayers to the psychotic guy and all the other maniacs who felt honking was going to hurry things along. Very sad to see so many beyond-beyond angry people. Final comment - I did find it astonishing all those angry folks were reacting to the gate event AS IF it was my desire to hold them up. Really? Who in the world would do that? read more

This target needs to get it together soooo bad. I never ever write reviews, but their scanner to purchase alcohol will legit just deny you if you have a new Real ID, that is real. I have been denied everytime I have tried to purchase alcohol, I am over 21 years old my ID is real and new, and it is the real ID's we are supposed to be getting to fly that the dmv will automatically give you. The employees have told me they know my ID isnt fake but they can't sell alcohol to me, this genuinely sooo annoying and I understand that its a college town target. But they need to get a scanner that actually works. read more

I'm sure this applies to quite a few Target's out there (or so I've at least read online), but this Target in particular screwed me over on getting the Special Target Edition of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros. The book was released yesterday, and there was no preorder available for this edition. There were two ways to get it: either show up when Target opens and run to the shelves, or place an order for pickup at midnight. I set an alarm to wake up at midnight and place my pickup order, as I had work at 4AM the next day and wouldn't be able to get to Target when they opened. As should have been expected, the Target website and app crashed. The stores I was originally trying to place my order at (Culver and Culver Westfield) wouldn't allow me to place an order and were suddenly sold out. The only store with any left was this Target in Westwood. It took me 35 minutes of being online and constantly refreshing the page, but I was finally able to place my order. Needless to say, the experience was stressful, and I couldn't get back to sleep. But I had reserved my copy of the book, and was so excited to pick it up when I got off work at 12:30pm. Cue my surprise and frustration when, at 11AM, I got a notification that they no longer had my book. I tried calling their customer service desk several times (which no one answered), finally having to call the general customer service line for Target where I was offered a measly $10 gift card. I decided to still go to Target after I got off work to find out exactly what happened. It turned out, they opened at 7AM and only had 70 copies of this book, all of which were put out on display and sold within twenty minutes. They only saw they had online orders for this book at 8AM. I was on two hours of sleep due to trying to get this particular edition, had been awake for over thirteen hours by the time I stopped in at 1PM to find out what had happened, and while it's just a book, it did not stop me from feeling absolutely gutted. This happened at Target's all across the country, and my situation is not unique in the slightest. But Target corporate owes an apology for how they handled this, and none of the people at the customer service desk seemed to care in the slightest how upset I was. They were incredibly rude and uncaring, and I left the store in tears as they offered no solution on how to remedy the situation. You need a better system and your employees need training in compassion and customer service. read more

Target, walkable now that I live in the 90024, is a fan-worthy go to for HBA, household goods/small appliances, tech items, clothing, groceries, greeting cards, or access to the convenient CVS within. Oh, there's a Starbucks too. Plenty of self check-out stations always my preference. However, on my last visit an early Sunday morning, those at stores' entrance were not in service requiring a detour to the kiosks at parking garage level entrance. Lines there both for cashier assistance or self check-out were long. Smart management created a queue to the Customer Service Desk to expedite those with small purchases. Kudos! Kudos too for pleasant, well trained, efficient staff (especially in the tech department) and equally so security. read more

I've placed orders for drive up a few times here and they've always been ready for pick up by two hours. I think that's what they say in the target app when you order. Well that's not always true as I learned during my most recent experience. I wasn't feeling well and placed an order for two small items for over the counter medications. As time was approaching the two hour mark, I made my way to the store because I was sure I was going to receive a notification that my order was ready for pick up. That never happened. Long story short I had to go inside and purchase the items myself. I spoke with guest services inside who said that orders take at least 4 hours and to just cancel my order on the app. And that is exactly what I did. Just a heads up! read more

This is the closest Target to UCLA, so as a Bruin, I appreciate the proximity and location in Westwood. I think there is a lot of confusion with the parking, so I was initially hesitant to come, but it was very smooth for me. It's a city Target I've been to before; the most important thing is to take note of your license plate number and enter the license plate close to the check-out. There'll be a touch-screen close to the self-checkouts, and you enter your license plate, and then you get 2 hours of free parking! So when I left the parking garage, it was a breeze! read more

It's hard to hire people nowadays, because most places people are not treated with respect and dignity and they're not giving room for advancement. I've heard an atrocious amount of complaints from the employees that work here and their professionalism and how they act when you're just aware of your surroundings even to other customers can be disheartening to see. On multiple occasions yesterday I saw people clearly needing help and even one person very clearly with me being far removed from where the associate was it was very obvious at the associate was ignoring the excuse me that if the customer. Target security guard in pursuit of a break. I went to this target and while finishing up my shopping I turned a corner and almost had to ram my cart through the security guard. He had air pods in his ears which is not professional while pursuing someone. He obviously couldn't be polite. The guy was black, glasses and in a target security uniform. My thoughts if you are going to represent your work place be polite. I let the manager on duty know my concerns and was told "he must have been in pursuit " but having air pods in your ears while pursuing someone is probably against policy. Usually, Target has been the obsession of my one and only fiancé-- NOT mine. Ralph's seemed like and easier option; it is closer to home, economy-level, but fully dull. Target never lacks the air conditioning temperature to be at the adjusted level, but is sometimes freezing... However, it proved that one smiley face could change the chilly feeling I have had. Langston, Langston, LANGSTON. Shared cat pictures, told each other jokes, bonded like we were at a small supermarket. Was Langston ready for us? He did not have to get our things, but the register remained open for us because of his willingness to work with our Godspeed. Thankfully, he was on the same page. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. RECURRING INSTANCES OF THEFT. I'm a new driver - got my license in March. I decided to purchase a dash cam to help make my car insurance more affordable but also just to cover me in case I get in an accident to no fault of my own. I drove all the way from Santa Monica to the LA Westwood location which was the nearest one that had this dash cam in stock. I picked up my order, brought it home and when I opened up the box I found an old headlamp. I am from the DC, hiking isn't a huge past time there and in no way would I have encountered an activity that would require me using a headlamp - so it was not mine. Meaning someone - either a Target employee or someone who frequents that store - switched out my dash cam for a headlamp. Confused and frustrated, I called the Target location immediately. I called the electronics department first and when I called someone picked up and didn't speak (I could hear people talking in the background) and then I called guest services and no one picked up. Then I called Corporate and spoke to two representatives who shared that this store had a HISTORY OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT EMPTY PACKAGES. I called the store again afterwards and again no one picked up at guest services but finally I got someone when I called the electronics department. The same things were reiterated - there had been a history of customers leaving with empty boxes. Clearly, empty boxes were becoming to obvious so whoever was doing this was adding weights so it wouldn't alarm the customer. The resolution that all three Target employees gave me was to go back to the store, return the package and headlamp and wait for them to run an investigation. I am so pissed, it's clear that this is a thought out scheme and I was unfortunate enough to walk right into it. Again, avoid this store and at the very least, open up any packages ESPECIALLY ELECTRONICS in store to ensure you have your product. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars specifically after my experience today. After running my errands here, I returned to my car in the garage and it wouldn't start. My car battery was dead! I went back to Target, bought jumper cables, and asked the Target cashier for help. I was referred to Guest Services and assisted by Rudy, who may be a manager, who then contacted Parking Services. Parking Services was completely unhelpful and short, and said they could not jump start customers' cars (which is whack to me, but that's another story). While we were walking out to my car, a security guard asked Rudy what was happening. Without hesitation, this security guard volunteered to jump start my car with his own car. He even had cables in his car already! Unfortunately, I didn't get his name but he deserves a pay raise for his go-getter attitude, empathy, and helpfulness. Rudy was also great. During this whole thing, I lost my parking stub and he got me a new one that allowed me to exit the garage without charge. Ultimately, I want to thank this security guard and Rudy for making this stressful event not so stressful and for providing 10/10 customer service. read more

Complete and utter failure to do a basic pick up order. Placed a pick up order for one item over 3 hour ago, the target app says the pick up is 2 hours, never get any type of confirmation or communication of delay. Get to guest services, no one is there. Then someone notices there are customers waiting. I communicate that I placed an order over 3 hours ago for pick up and never got an email. They say our store actually takes 4-6 hours for pick ups. That's not reflected on the website or item detail. I say that I am just going to cancel my order and go to another Target. Person at first services is I recommend you waste more time and go see if we have it in the electronics before you cancel. Get to the electronics section and surprise surprise they are emptied out of the item. Overall bad experience and not going back to the store for pick ups again. read more
