The Target store is nice. Good location and everything is well organized. Store is clean and employees are always so nice. The actual store rating is a solid 5-star rating. Now, the Target Optical in there is a different story. Two of the girls there aren't very nice. One identified herself as a manager but she didn't act as a manager, just plainly rude and unprofessional. She had very poor customer service skills. I don't see the doctor there so I can't rate the doctor onsite. I'd usually go to my own doctor. Then bring my prescription there to get the Coach frames for the glasses for several years. But their prices for frames and lenses are just as high as doctor's offices. There's an up charge for everything on the lenses. These options are included at Costco with the lenses purchase! We just stopped giving them the business and go somewhere else because of their attitude. read more

Ms. Lynn is like your favorite auntie in the family that always has super awesome conversations with and will always have your back! I would give 0 stars if I could. The pros are 1. Ease of making appointments. 2. The Optometrist is efficient. That's it. Cons are 1. No one ever answers the phone. I have been in several times and the staff just sit while the phone rings. Never a return call. 2. The staff in the optical store are not helpful at all. As opposed to a high pressure sales tactic, this is zero pressure, we don't care if you are even here type attitude. I've been to Walmart Optical in Foothill Ranch and they are are much better. This review is for Lynn N. the Optical Manager. I have been using this optical center for years and by years I mean over 15. I continue to do so because of Lynn and of course Dr. Lee. Lynn is amazing. She is truly gifted in her craft and goes above and beyond her call as a manager. She has always been super helpful and honest in advising me on proper lens for my face and prescription. Every time I have had any issue, she has always stepped up and resolved my problems. She handles her position with grace and patience. She always has a friendly smile and greets everyone immediately. I love their selection of frames and how quickly they can get me in with my appointments. Lynn is amazing and she is the reason I continue to use this Optical Center. In September I had my eyes checks but I didn't feel confident in the prescription. Dr Lee was nice but I felt rushed.They told me my glasses would treat in 2 weeks max. I called after 2 weeks the staff was rude and said they did they were still being made. 8d call every few days never getting a clear answer until final someone admitted one of the lens didn't fit correctly in the frame so they sent it back and were waiting for them to fix and send it back. After 7 weeks they finally told me it was ready. I git there tried my glasses on and wouldn't you know it my vision was barely better if not worse with them on. I was so mad and needed glasses so bad I took them. First thing I noticed the lens didn't fit in the frame and ever since then has been wobbly. If it weren't for covid and my desperate need for glasses I would have returned them and very disappointed I didn't. The guy behind the desk knew it too but walked away when I was telling him about amd said well you can always come back and walked to the back. I finally saw a doctor in fountain valley this week and it's incredible the difference in professionalism and accuracy. I'm still really upset how bad this business failed a loyal customer. My wife and I had gone there a couple times before this but never again. read more

Dr. Lee has been my optometrist for years now and I've always received very professional service. Now I've been told my 7 year old son can't see in class so I called them and they said yes he can check my son's vision no problem! Very slow service on the weekend. Just came in to pick up my updated lenses, sales people kept chatting and chatting and pretended the waiting customers were not there. Didn't even acknowledge the waiting customers, no efforts to hurry because of the waiting customers. Rude. On the other hand Dr. Lee was very professional and nice throughout the exam. read more

Update: I picked up my glasses and Lynn (Mgr) fitted them on.Her personality is second to none and I laughed with her for 10 minutes talking about everything but my glasses. The staff here is nice. They have a decent selection of frames. The problem is with the lab they use for the eyeglass lenses. I wear progressive lenses and they etch a watermark of the correction number on each lens. My eyes are sensitive and can notice this watermark which looks like a smudge when I wear the glasses. Turns out they can't/won't make their progressive lenses without that number watermark. This makes no sense since other optical retailers I have used in the past don't do this. They do not disclose this practice to customers either. In summary, 3 trips to the store later, I had to return my glasses and purchase from a different place because of this issue. read more

I only went to Dr. Lee once and I was satisfied with my appointment. Honestly, all eye doctors are usually fine unless you have a problem that they need to help you resolve. Well, I had a problem and he did not lift a finger to help me. I went back East on an 8th grade school trip and lost my prescription glasses. I only need my glasses for night driving but I brought them on my trip just in case. Unfortunately, I lost them on my trip and my eye prescription was just 7 days expired when I called. My glasses work fine and I was just asking for a week extension on my prescription just long enough to order a new pair of glasses. Dr. Lee's office called me back to say no. They are extremely busy at the office and I would need to make an appointment. I find this absolutely unhelpful and unreasonable. I am in a bind and I feel no compassion from him or his staff. He just wants me to spent time and money on an additional appointment that I really do not need. As a result, I am writing this review to warn others and to let them know that I will be taking my business elsewhere. Dr. Lee has not only lost me but also my whole family. read more

After a horrible experience at another clinic, I found this place by looking on my insurance website and also Yelp. It's not that close to me but I come down this way regularly so I figured it was worth a shot. There is a lovely sweet lady who answers the phone. She has such a nice voice and is always so helpful. I keep forgetting her name. There is no one else in the office so Dr. Lee does all the testing himself. His initial exam was very thorough and he actually really listens to his patients. The day after I saw him, I called back to request trial contact lens for a brand I found online and I was told he had done more research too and had ordered those already for me. The follow up contact lens fitting was a good 30 min and he ordered me a total of 4 different types of lens with slightly different prescriptions for EACH. Not only does he check that the lens fit, he also rechecked my prescription with the contacts in. I've worn contact lens for years and I've moved around a lot, so I've had tons of exams. It's rare to find a doctor who will spend that much time on follow up appointments because they only get paid for the initial exam. You're lucky they will even schedule you a follow up visit! There was also no pressure to buy contacts or glasses either, which is a nice change. I'll definitely be back again next year for my annual exam. read more

I can't believe the bad reviews either. I went in for an eye exam....which no one seems to be commenting on...which was great. The fill in doctor was great (other doctor out for some reason). Very understanding since I was late (got lost). Then I went and tried on glasses. Yes they gave a hard sell on contacts -thanks but I can find them cheaper elsewhere - but they had a great selection of frames. I haven't gotten any yet but will most likely go back there. The staff was friendly in store. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses and was told they would be ready in 7-10 days. It's been two weeks now. Nothing. No courtesy call either. I've called them three times now, each time I spoke to an associate who said they would call the lab to find out how far along my glasses are and call me back in the next 10 minutes. Neither of them have called back. I am very frustrated. Next time I will go to Costco. Better value, larger selection, and I receive glasses on time. I understand that we all forget things sometimes but this is extremely unprofessional and each associate specifically promised to call me back. So back in August my boyfriend ordered glasses from Target Optical. We added the option of having blue light filter. After receiving the glasses, I had a kit to test it if it was actually blue light filter. I bought my glasses from my Optometry office, which passed the test. When we tested his glasses they weren't blue light filtered. We went back to Target Optical and spoke to the sales person and the manager. They sent the glasses back and about a week or two later called us in to pick up the new glasses. Again we tested the glasses and again it failed the test. They sent it back four times and each time we tested it it was not blue light filter. The forth time that we came back we even tested another persons glasses that had ordered the blue light filter and their glasses weren't blue light filter as well. As a result, they had to refund us our money and we had to take our business elsewhere. This review is not a reflection of the customer service, but of the product itself. I want to make sure that anyone who has purchased glasses from Target Optical and has paid for this additional feature don't rip you off!!! I suggest you buy a kit and test your glasses. Hopefully, Target has addressed this with the company they use for their optics department. read more

We saw Dr. Lee first who was great!! My daughter has a bit of a confusing prescription and he's been the only one to explain it so I can understand! The Optical team who helped us were patient and we even ended up getting a second pair for my other daughter while we were there! Overall an excellent experience. We actually have Kaiser insurance but haven't been able to get into an appointment that worked for us. I hate to see at it but I think we will be back to see Dr. Lee instead of using our insurance. read more
