I've been using target world for years and while I'm irked at them putting in a training class for using the range which I've been using for years, that is the only downside. They are friendly and knowledgeable and I find the prices fair for weapons and ammo. They also sell black powder which is very good for reenactors or black powder hunters. Some people have complained that there are lines and it can take a while-to be fair that means they are popular and have a lot of business. One of the tell-tale signs of a good place. I have a love hate relationship with Target World in Chalfont. As an experienced 20+ shooter and reloader with thousands of rounds down many different ranges to give some history. The guys upstairs selling the firearms have always been good to me have made multiple purchases there etc even became friendly with few. TW usually has great selection and even used firearms. Sales people are knowledgeable and friendly from my interactions. Now the firing range , where do i begin. Normally the staff as far as friendliness etc is normally great no issues, professional follow procedures to rent a booth etc. The problem is the constant, and i mean constant interruptions by staff while shooting on range. Their constant small advice , reminders , your bag is 1/1000 of an inch over the line , or you are shooting just a little too high between wall tape guides..on and on and on. It is insane. They break any kind of cadence you get into or when thinking on your form and trying to self correct them interruption after interruption. Depending on who is there will determine if you are stopped for unwanted advice 2times or 20 times it's crazy. It is overkill and ridiculous . I get it you are trying to keep people safe and not get sued but if you go too far the other way no one will want to shoot there. They need to find a happy medium like 99% of all other ranges. This is TW achilles heel and it will continue to be until they resolve this. its akin to going to best buy were a sales person chases you around the store and hounds you "can i help you find something" same thing at range TW till it sucks the joy of shooting right out of it. I appreciate they offer a range to shoot at it's not all bad. Range is clean, air is good ventilation, it's cool in there, computers on each range are really good so that part is good. I like the place overall but they can do much better during range sessions and if you need to put orange tape on side walls then obviously you need to redo how the range is designed because NO other indoor range i've ever been to does that. read more

The sales floor is fantastic, staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The range on the other hand is on some shit. Idk if they've had a lot of issues in the past, but you shouldn't punish all for the mistakes of a few. First off, they made my fiancé and I (both experienced shooters) take a ridiculous test that involved shooting a toy laser gun at a target, having to draw sights, and list all the guns you've shot with. Which felt a little "big brother" to my paranoia. After all the testing, we still had to watch a long ass video on range safety. Then during casual conversation, I said a curse word and was asked to "watch my language". As a paying customer, you do not have the right to control what comes out of my mouth. Nothing was said that would be offensive to anyone, I believe my comment was. "Well that's f'n cool". Then after what felt like their grand inquisition, we finally were granted access to the range where the staff proceeded to interrupt me not once, but three times for things as trivial as where my bag was placed on the ground, or to come and give me unsolicited advice on shooting. When they weren't interrupting your shooting, they stood and stared at you through the window behind you. It was incredibly unnerving. I've known other people that have gone and since they had no experience shooting, they wouldn't allow them on the range until they went to one of their classes. Which of course cost $$$. Seems like a scam. I understand, safety is of the utmost importance at ranges, but this place just takes it way too far. Will definitely be back to shop upstairs, but never going back to the range again. read more

I visited Target World for the first time in years. The staff at the range was very friendly. Yes, I had to draw a sight, shoot a fake gun at a target, fill out a waiver and watch a brief video. But it didn't take long, and I only have to do it once, so I didn't mind. Inside the range, I had a problem with my lever-action rifle. Gage spent 20 minutes inside the range with me diagnosing the problem at NO CHARGE to me. I will definitely be going back. read more

Super informational, and patient as he walked me throughout picking out the perfect firearm, to teaching me how to take it apart, to cleaning it and all of the above. I went to Target World to zero in my rifle and one round hit the 1" thick armour plating surrounding their carry system which is designed to take hits and they charged me for 5 rounds hitting this plate. They claimed I caused damaged. It was a lie and they held my driver's license hostage until I paid them. There was no damage to their system whatsoever, just a scratch on the rattle can black spray paint job they used to paint the armor plate just to scam unsuspecting customers out of their money. They make you sign a deceiving contract that you'll have to pay $30 per scratch. Totaling $150. It's a joke, this place should be called "Scam World" It's wrong that you are cheating people in your own community. Shame on you, Target World! read more

Nice range. Very anal about getting you onto it however. Spent 20 minutes being interviewed, filling out paperwork, picking out a proper sight picture and drawing it, and shooting a laser pistol at a target to show how I grip a pistol and return it to the staff. Maybe this is a good process for newbies, but I've been shooting over 40 years. Finally got on the range and had some fun with my buddy for an hour. Range would get a better score if it weren't for the ridiculous amount of scrutiny done upfront in the shop. read more

It was not a pleasant experience trying to get information for a pistol purchase. The salesman wasn't very knowledgeable and he had me point at the paper wall target and then criticized the way I pulled the trigger. He didn't tell me that I was going to get graded on it. Really? I'm a veteran and I have been hunting for over 50 years, sometimes with a pistol. Instead of purchasing the pistol there, I went up to Cabelas and the salesmen there were very professional and knowledgeable. I purchased the pistol I wanted with a 5% veterans discount on both the pistol and ammunition. Target World never thanked me for my service, but at Cabelas I had several employees thank me for my service. What a difference! read more

This is a review of the range, not the shop. I checked out Target World on the recommendation of a member of my gun club and had a great experience. It's a little far from home but curiosity led me to take the drive. After a quick safety intro and explanation of the range rules- I am shocked anyone would be surprised or object to either- they'll let you rent a booth. Max distance is 25 yds, so I set the control panel (yes it's all high tech) to 10 yds, and got some necessary practice in. I brought my own standard targets (they had tape). The team was professional, helpful, and courteous. Prices were reasonable, they have few restrictions (no steel case rounds), and they offer training and assistance for new shooters. I definitely recommend it. read more

Stars for location and convenience. They need you to do a pre-test, there are 85 rules before you go in, you basically have to buy their targets because they need to be a certain size.... Everyone has your typical gun store attitude, they are doing you a favor by letting you shoot there. Forty minutes cost $20. The first minute over 30 costs $20. We spent 25 mins being explained things that are common sense when you say "yes I've been to a gun range before." Then you have these dudes staring through a window at your while you're shooting. That's some weirdo ish right there. Asked about the price of a gun in the showcase, "I don't know, they sell them upstairs." Why are they being displayed without prices though? I WAS a big fan of Target World. A few years back, I left a glowing 5-Star Review praising my experiences, after our 4th purchase, detailing our total satisfaction with all aspects of the business. Since 2015, myself and several Family Members have been LOYAL customers. We were trained, taking multiple classes in your classrooms, on proper firearms safety, weapons handling, and above all else, what TW expected of responsible shooters. We trained on your range with one of your most respected Instructors, from first practice shots, through the "Fast Draw & Multi-Shot" advanced courses. We've purchased everything we use for Shooting Sports from your store, including almost 10 major arms transactions, Gunbroker.com consignment sales, as well as supplies, ammo, holsters, cleaning kits, lasers & lights, range bags, and tees. I was often the "Odd Man out" when speaking to serious Hunters, and Shooters (Who strongly dislike TW) about my praise for you, and my satisfaction in dealing with Sales, and the Range. I defended my favorite store when others said "That place sucks/ those people treat you like crap" up until a few days ago. I have always entered the business with a serious, professional, SAFE attitude. I took the training seriously, and practiced your Store's Protocol to a "T" for YEARS, without any issues. None of my party has EVER had any disagreement, discussions, or confrontations. We do as we're told. As we entered the Range, we started our paperwork as usual, and the customary magnet inspection of our ammo, to prevent any steel, or incendiaries from being fired. We totally understand this, and agree this is for everyone's safety. All brass/ all the time/ every time. As we pulled out our multiple 4 and 10-mag carriers, the Clerk started removing my loaded rounds, and dropping them into a plastic tub. With a surprised look on my face, he stated "We have to inspect EVERY round......some guy recently fired a Tracer bullet on the Range. As the tub got filled with bullets, I realized between us, there were upwards of 400 rounds! Attempting to limit this unfolding FIASCO on the counter in front of us, we both decided to not shoot everything we brought, and intended (Wanted) to shoot. The Clerk started to re-load the pile of magazines, but was called away. He told us "Feel free to re-load yourselves" Guess what? I already loaded all of these ONCE, with intentions of coming in here, and spending my time & money shooting, NOT standing here re-loading several hundred rounds again. By the time this had finished, I was so annoyed, I didn't want to be there, no less, enjoy shooting. We shot for a brief period then left. I felt like a 10-year-old accused of playing with matches. If your training, and my years of flawless interactions with your business and staff don't allow you to trust me by now, then I'm at the wrong place. If one Nit-Wit "walk-in" who has no idea what's in his weapon now punishes every one of your Clients, YOU have a serious problem. BAN the idiot, put up a big sign, and make everyone aware this happened. There has to be a better way, as we won't be back, and I'm now forced to agree with your critics. When you alienate, and chase away your loyal, supportive, long-term customers, you WILL end up with a 100% totally SAFE range. Because there won't be anyone there shooting in it. read more

I'd never shot a gun before, so it seemed time to remedy that. These guys were incredibly helpful in instructing me and my group in how to do so safely and with no problems. I was super nervous at first, but the customer service here is off the charts. We went through the whole process and I constantly got the impression that the staff had a great deal of respect for firearms in general. As a guy who currently lives in California and hears a lot of talk about gun nuts, these guys don't fit the caricature at all because it was completely friendly and professional. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I even got some free coaching from one of the staff. My biggest complaint about this place is the process of getting into the range if it is your first time to this range. There is about 30 mins of training you have to go through in order to get clear to get on the range. There is also a $10 fee if it is your first-time shoot at this range, which I feel is really ridiculous. The worst part is they did not tell me about this fee until after doing this 30-min training. The range was also kinda pricey compared to others in the area so I will probably not be returning here. Like I said, there are some very nice, helpful people here but get ready for that price gouge. read more

From everything I'd heard I thought this place was a huge, hustling, bustling mega gun mecca.... it wasn't - and that's not a bad thing!! I did catch them in the evening on a dismal Friday not far from closing (and I only visited the store. I didn't have a chance to check out the range) and the weather had most people in their right minds indoors. But I was on the hunt for a new toy and decided to check out a few shops that were close in proximity. Target World did not disappoint. They had a nice selection and some pretty good product banter (I just kind of jumped in the middle of a Hellcat vs M&P conversation and threw in the P365XL just to stir things up!!). All in all the vibes, people, and selection were good. I'd definitely go back to do business and check out the range as well. read more

I've been to Target World a fair number of times as both a gun store customer and a range shooter. I've been to a good deal of indoor ranges in the area and I can easily say that Target World is my favorite. While I own what I shoot they still have a varied selection of guns for rent and, if you like it and decide to buy, you get your rental fee for credited to the purchase of the new gun. Standard practice but it would be missed if it weren't there. The range itself is very clean and the range staff watches for safety and, when prompted, will offer tips to help you improve. In my experience, this isn't a range you will be hounded at every 5 minutes while on the firing line. The gun store is perhaps my favorite part. I worked with Matt (and I want to say Jason) when picking out my Beretta Silver Pigeon, which to date has been my most expensive firearms purchase. The staff was very patient with me and offered their honest opinions as well as alternatives. At no point did I feel as though they were just trying to sell me something expensive. The main point I want to get across is that this is a very approachable gun store. I consider myself a casual enthusiast, someone who gets to the range once every three months. Too often have I been to gun stores where I have been written off because I may not look the part and not been given the time of day even when I come with the intention of purchase (and after being treated this way I can assure you that I leave without purchasing!). Price wise they are not the cheapest out there and there appears to be very little room for negotiation on their guns (I've only bought new... can't speak for used) but the prices are fair and what I would consider just under market. Sales personnel are unorganized and profit oriented Wow five days later and Daniel C continues this argument I will address being clergy and angry in a minute but first as far as the range personnel goes this isn't just from this incident this goes back to the few times I used your range and you took the fun out of it with me and my family by just about asking for a pint of blood before we went in there I even told your sales person including Rick upstairs and it's really amazing how your personnel on the second floor talked about the range guys as well! I guess they share their feelings as part of confessing who knows I never had issues with Claytons on route 611. Do you really have a personal problem between upstairs and downstairs. The feeling of anger is part of being human. Even Jesus was angry at times. However, we must make the clarification that the feeling of anger is permissible (even praiseworthy  at times), but not the sinful anger that seeks revenge.   "Anger is a desire for revenge. 'To desire ven­geance in order to do evil to someone who should be punished is illicit,' but it is praiseworthy to impose restitution 'to correct vices and maintain justice.'" (CCC 2302) Often we can't control when we feel anger boil within, and for many of us it rises all too frequently (think The Hulk). The good news is that I am not alone. Many of the saints struggled with their feelings of anger and had to restrain themselves from committing a sin. They saw something wrong in the world and it made them angry. Peter had a bit of a rough start as an apostle. Range Review I have been to five different ranges over the years and I can honestly say this range exceeded expectations. Staff members were very friendly and welcoming. It was 3 shooters in my group and we were all first timers here. So we had to go through the safety/insurance briefing and filled out paperwork. I would strongly suggest following the website guidance on getting there 15 mins before your appointment if it's your first time there. Probably 20-25 if it's busy. I believe Robby helped us check in and he was great along with the rest of the staff behind the counter. They watch you fire your first couple rounds to make sure you are not hitting anything but the target. You don't even notice they are watching you. Dan was in the range and he was great. Helped my buddy out adjusting his red dot sight on his handgun. I have always wanted to rent a rifle but never felt comfortable or confident enough in other ranges. We ended up renting a rifle because of the great staff and didn't regret it. read more
