All the sales guys are nice, except 'TY'. He pressured me into buying something i didnt want, lied about the product, and hid information on it as well. He knew i very inexperienced and i asked him for guidance, and he took advantage of that vulnerability and sold me something that he made sound like 'the best deal ever', but neglected to tell me everything! I tried to take it back for reconsignment LESS than 24hrs later, and the other salesmen told me it was pretty much worth nothing, because it's a product not made anymore and impossible to even sell. This guy should NOT be in sales because he is dishonest and takes advantage of people. You would think a gun store would want to help someone make the right choice, not just look for a quick buck. I've now purchased 3 forearms from Target World. Two of them in the last 18 months. All of the staff here is respectful, accommodating and professional. Everyone here answers questions and never seems bothered. Buying a gun, especially for the first time, can be overwhelming and the staff here is understanding. I just took the Introduction to Knife class with Shannon and Dan, It was excellent!!! If you don't know what to get your wife, girlfriend or significant other for Mother's Day, this class is a winner. All the men out there, this class would be great for you too. I've been here a few times and my experience has consistently been excellent. Friendly staff, fourteen lanes with good lighting, and a good selection of gear. Safety is a high priority, which I find reassuring. I made an error once and a staff member informed me in a very courteous manner. If you have no experience shooting, then they will ask for you to start with a .22 (you can rent one if needed). Only downside is that it can get crowded - especially on the weekend. Get there early if you want to avoid a wait (though my late was only ~20 min. when I showed up at ~11 am on Saturday). That said, I think the popularity is a testimony to what a terrific facility they have at Target World! read more

I've had multiple good experiences here. I have purchased a firearm, had a firearm shipped here, and most recently took a lesson from Dan. The whole crew here really gets it. I've always felt very welcome here and get treated like a member, even though I'm not. The sales team really takes their time and will answer any question you have. My most recent sales experience was with George who really went the extra mile to help a buddy i brought in for his first purchase. Just this past Friday I took a lesson with Dan who really gave me some great info made me look like a pro even though this was my first time shooting a rifle. Then Rob showed me how to break it down and clean it. Target World should be your "go to" spot if you live within 50 miles because you won't find a better place. read more

I tried the range here today for the first time with my 12 year old son. We had a great time and found the staff very helpful and attentive. I appreciate the fact that the staff keep a very close eye on the range and strictly enforce the rules. They also offered helpful advice for my son, who never shot a pistol before. Some really nice guys there. I also found the staff in the store to be very helpful and patient. Sometimes gun shop employees have a gruff attitude, or try too hard to be macho. Not here. This place is a bit of a hike for me, but I will be back. read more

I was up in the area of target world and decided to stop in to check the place out. I stopped in in my work clothes (I'm a mechanic by trade) Looking to check out their colt revolvers because I'm in the market for a new python. I walked into the downstairs which is the range area and was greeted by very friendly counter representatives they directed me upstairs to sales, Wow what a difference was greeted by JJ who had the personality of a wet paper bag I proceeded to ask him for a magazine for one of my ruger rifles, He then said "so are you asking me if we have one" so I replied yeah, he looked very annoyed and bothered by my presence in the store. he checked Inventory and told me no magazine's available but he would check the shelf although it would be a rarity for one not to be in the system. As he was checking I spotted a new python in the display case but I was so put off by his attitude I decided not to ask about it and I will take my business down the road to another gun store. The moral of the story is never judge a book by its cover always treat every customer like a number one priority, No matter what they want to buy. not sorry you lost out on a $1600 sale read more

I have been here three times and have had bad experiences twice. The beautiful range doesn't make up for the fact that the range staff is incredibly rude and condescending. I had one staff member take a loaded revolver out of my hands because I was shooting high on the target. My husband was in the middle of shooting a magazine when the same staff member came up and TAPPED HIM ON THE SHOULDER. The staff talks exhaustively about safety- such as carrying rental guns around in a basket- but has no problem startling someone with a live weapon in their hands. My husband is a retired marine and an expert marksman. The staff consistently interrupts with 'advice' that is inaccurate at best. I don't feel safe at this range, I feel watched. I will not be back. read more

Go elsewhere. The sales people here are that of a curb side used car lot. They are extremely pushy and condescending. I went there to use the range with another person who wanted to rent something to try out while at the range. They refused to let them rent anything other than a .22lr since they were fairly green when it came to shooting even though they wanted to rent a 9mm. So after that nonsense, we were in the lanes for an hour and when we came out & we paid they tried to hard sell us on buying a gun. They were literally standing in front of the door as went to leave. There are other places in the area which are way better no matter what you are looking to do (buy, use a range, etc.) so I'd take your business elsewhere. read more

To be honest I've never been to the facility so this review has nothing to do with that. I got off the phone Target World (TW) rep because I was doing research of ranges in my area. First, the "gentlemen" on the phone was rude. Second, given their rates for both booth and rental are over charged. Go to Clayton's which is about $5 cheaper than TW. To rent their guns I have to purchase their ammo? Perhaps if you were a beginner I can see that, but for veteran shooters who just want to test out a gun this sucks! read more

We used to come here to shoot and buy ammo and other supplies/accessories for years. Even took classes with the instructor that teaches here. We were always defending this place when other locals told us their bad experiences here until we started to experience them regularly. I guess the one or two good guys working there made the store. Within the recent year their quality of customer service and giving a s*** went completely down hill. We weren't even allowed to buy decent ammo unless we were shooting. I get there's a mass ammo shortage in the country but as a gun retailer this is the time to keep your reoccurring local customers. Not force them to shop somewhere else. And the way the guy told us we can't buy it showed complete lack of care and concern. There's another private gun store close to the area and they are always bending backwards when they can or are genuine at least when they can't. So, not coming here for ammo or to shoot anymore. read more

I'm disappointed every time I travel to visit this place. Good selection, plenty of products to look at and browse through, however their customer service blows. I went today with my brother and his wife looking for a rifle for his daughter. The younger tall guy who was helping us was nice but he hadn't a clue how to operate the rifles he was handing us, which I feel is an important thing to know if you're selling rifles. We would ask questions about the rifles and all he could give us was the information from the ticket or a website that he looked up on the nearby computer. Later on we could clearly tell he had been DRINKING. Hands were shakey, fumbling around, and every now and then we could smell the booze on his breath. Ridiculous!!! Then theres this short guy who came off very rude. Often felt judged for the questions I asked as he apparently thought I was stupid and had no idea about firearms or AR-15 rifles. I would ask him to see a rifle and just before he handed it to me he asked in a very offical rude tone. "Do you know how to properly operate this weapon?".... He had just watched me handle 3 other AR-15s just two minutes before I talked to him. He still felt the need to give me the third degree... another thing that bothered me a lot about this short guy is he would not touch any guns without first putting on his fingerless "tough-guy" gloves. I asked him to see a rifle and he walked over to me, pulled out his gloves, began squeezing them on and then strapping them tight, THEN he handed me the rifle. It was about a whole 20 seonds I waited for this guy to hand me a rifle I could've reached over the counter and grabbed myself. Just a negative feeling everytime I go there. Just 5 minutes away from their shop is a new gun shop only 6 months old ran by a man that hated Target Worlds service. He also has a gunsmith that use to be Targets World gunsmith. Its a small place and easy to miss but I have never had friendlier service at a gun shop! Knowledgeable and easy to talk to, ask questions, and seak advice. Their female associate was just as nice and knowledge! Selection was small but quality. Prices were a little high but I'd gladly pay more for a gun to support a small growing gun shop with great professional staff. I will post the new gun shops info at the bottom. I can't understand why a gun store would not have a gunsmith or replacement parts for the most popular rifle in the country. I needed a firing pin for an M4gery so I asked and I get "Nope we don't carry those types of parts". So your a gun store without a gunsmith or gun parts. The range has to many rules it kinda ruins the fun when you get yelled at for a double or triple tap. They do always have the good Hornady ammo in stock in most common sizes on a positive note and a pretty nice selection of guns. read more

7-8-16 update. I am brand new to Yelp so I am not sure why Yelp hides my review under the not helpful area at the bottom, but I wanted to make a point. This range and the other one I reviewed treated my 3 daughters like welcomed guests. Other ranges over the years have looked down their noses and been very macho in their approach, even calling one of them "little girl". My daughter was 22 at the time, she is now 29. I have been shooting here since 2005. All three of my daughters have learned to shoot here, and I have frequented the store way too much. My girls have always been treated with respect and had all of their questions answered fully. I have never had a bad experience or rude employee. Will shoot here until I cant shoot any more. If I could give this place more than 5/5 stars, I would - they deserve all the praise for their kindness, courtesy, knowledge, overall professionalism, and the cleanliness of the facilities. I booked a lesson with Shannon for my parents as a late birthday gift. They have never shot before in their lives and had no experiences with guns whatsoever aside from media. I settled upon Target World Inc through my research due to its great reviews from other people was very pleased to see that safety was one of their biggest priorities (and one of my greatest concerns). I did some research on their website. I then called TWI to speak with someone in person, as I felt that asking questions through phone would be easier than writing down email inquiries. Pat saw that it was a special gift for my parents and explained more about the facilities, instructors, etc. I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with her mostly because I had a lot of questions about dress code, what to expect, anything to bring, how the lesson would go, etc (again, as safety was my biggest priority). She was VERY thorough and EXTREMELY kind and so pleasant to talk to - I wish I could thank her in person but I didn't get the chance to see her when we went for our lesson. Rarely do I ever have someone so helpful when I'm on the phone but she made sure to go through every detail and answer every question I had, giving her own personal recommendations for lesson plans and what we might want to focus on without pushing them. Pat, like other TWI employees I assume, is truly one-of-a-kind individual with her kindness and knowledge and an amazing representative of Target World. Yesterday I arrived with my parents to TWI for our appointment. We arrived a little bit early to sign the paperwork and the employees at the front desk, though they had a couple people they were working on, made sure to get to us as soon as we could and explain the process. They then pointed us to the second floor where we could wait for Shannon for the lesson. As we strolled around the area, one employee (Rick) asked if he could help us with anything. He was such a lovely, energetic, and sweet man. My parents looked over the gun collection in the cases and he explained the types of guns in a very informative and educational way for complete beginners like us. And he did it with such a great smile the whole time - he oozed such a warm personality that I found with all the employees at TWI. He even showed us the different parts of an empty gun (giving us lessons on the importance of checking the state of the gun) and explained them all to us. Essentially, he was taking time out of his day to give us a pre-lesson lesson that was both informative and entertaining while still very professional. And after our lesson when we were heading down to shoot, he gave us a thumbs up and encouragement to my parents. This again cements how much of a community TWI is and how well they treat their clientele. Shannon picked us up and we headed to our classroom. Again, like the other TWI employees I've interacted with (as I was the one setting up the appointments and such), he was very open, personable, incredibly kind, and the best of the best we could have asked for. In the classroom we went over background information, focusing a lot on gun safety, and then moved on to practice with the fake pistols (laser guns to practice aim). He walked through each step and demonstrated, then followed those corrections with positive reinforcement and always made sure to congratulate them on how well they were doing throughout the lesson. Once the basics were covered we moved down to the shooting range itself, where he explained everything and they could put their skills to use. They were nervous holding actual loaded guns, but again he encouraged them and was very patient and supportive. He stood behind them as they shot guns for the first time (maintaining a safe and professional distance) and congratulated them with "That's it!" or "Nice one!" when they shot. He also gave feedback throughout. Our lesson then ended shortly after, and my parents, both of whom had never touched a gun until that afternoon, felt extremely exhilarated and blown away by their experiences at Target World (which they and by the kindness and experience of the employees - especially Shannon, whom they continue to rave about even a day after their lesson. Our experience was extremely positive and truly a once-in-a-lifetime memory that we will cherish for a long time. I also bought a gift card for my parents so that they can come back anytime. Furthermore, I plan on booking my own lessons with Shannon so I can take part, as yesterday's lesson was only for my parents. I cannot say enough about how much of a wonderful business Target World Inc is. We all plan to be back very shortly. This is for the range portion. The guy I worked with was incredibly friendly, didn't mind entertaining questions that I had about the rentals, range, membership, etc. Their selection is limited but their prices are very good. Ammo isn't too expensive, the gun operated fine and was well cleaned. The stalls for shooting are fantastic. Not the most advanced system, but at least you have plenty of privacy. Brass isn't shooting into your face and you aren't getting hit with the concussive force of the guy in the adjacent cell shooting his .50 cal. I would go again for sure. I'm entertaining using them as a primary range once I make a decision on what weapon to purchase. The one thing I can say about the store is they do have a nice selection. Check out the Armalite AR-50 if they still have it, that's a beast! read more

This past weekend was my third time in Target World. My first visit was to purchase a gift card and the other two times have been for training sessions with Shannon. Each time I have been greeted by the friendly staff in no way other than making me feel comfortable. I was very anxious before shooting and Shannon has helped me build confidence in both handling guns and shooting. I will continue to go back for more training and purchase a firearm through them. I was there this weekend. I worked with a guy at the gun counter who was knowledgeable, and nice to work with. Their guns prices are decent and comparable with others in the area. I was all set to purchase the firearm when he told me the background check was $19.95. That is crazy, every other shop in the area is $5. I just think it's a rip off to mark up the background check that much. Seems sleezy to me. I am pricing the pistol today at another shop. read more

Bought my first gun here and customer service was poor if anything. Beretta is great and works perfect. The salesman Len was just looking for a sale if anything. Other than trying to rush me into the sale, he did not want to spend the time to help or show me other guns that might have been comparable to what i was looking at. He was extremely disrespectful to my grandfather who was also with me at the time. On my second visit to target world i delt with Charlie i believe. Charlie was more than helpful and showed me every part that needed to be stripped down and how to do it. If it wasnt for him i believe i wouldnt be returning again because his customer service skills were more than great. Other than the sales team upstairs, the guys downstairs at the range were great. I forget his name but he was on the shorter side and bald. He told me he was a beretta guy and gave me tips as far as modifications and other "to do's" for berettas. More or less depending who you run into at target world, they either scare you away or are very helpful. read more

My husband & I are new shooters and are so, so happy we put ourselves in the hands of the very professional and informative staff at Target World. Over a months time Mike, Rick and James from retail staff took as much time as I needed to help me select the perfect handgun. There was absolutely no pressure to buy ~ but, lots and lots of information. My husband & I became TW members & signed up for NRA membership during our first visit ~ THAT'S how impressed we were/are of the staff and brand new range. As for the range... Rob, Chris and the rest of the staff are polite, informative and extremely helpful. Yup, there are lots of rules, a pre-range mini-class & documentation. Here's the thing ~ If I am in a place where people are armed with guns, I welcome an orderly atmosphere where the staff enforces safety to protect everyone using the facility. How can anyone be offended if they are (politely & respectfully) requested to correct an absentminded action (which has no place at a gun range)? read more

My family was a constant customer at this range (before renovations) and the store up top, which is why I bought my first gun from them recently. Went today to use the free range time that comes with it and listened to all the new safety regulations they had. After being there for an hour getting used to shooting my BRAND NEW Ruger LCP one of the workers came out to tell me that one of my shots went too high (but still hit the cardboard) and that they were reviewing the cameras to see whether they would charge me $15 for the "stray shot". As my father and I are were packing up our stuff two different people came up to me saying "are they trying to get you too?" and stated that they have seen MULTIPLE people penalized in recent weeks and that they too were extremely frustrated with this new policy. We left the range and went to see if we had to pay and they told us they were reviewing the cameras and could not pinpoint when the "stray shot" was, if it came from us or people before us but that they were still going to charge us. After inquiring more about this they said there were two shots but they were being "nice" and only charging us for one, but yet still couldn't pinpoint when these shots were made. As repetitive customers coming here for YEARS, known by the owner and the guys working upstairs we as a family are disgusted with this treatment. As of right now I have no interest in coming back to use the rest of my free range time. read more
