Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. I was initially quite disappointed when we discovered,…read moreonly upon entry, that they are out of network for Delta Dental (I had talked to a representative and scheduled the appointment for my kids 3 weeks out and I informed that we had Delta Dental and they even asked for our member number). I can't give higher because this is something important that should be mentioned before scheduling people but it's not so bad that I it warrants a lower number. Note to self, make sure to verify whether or not a dentist you're looking to see is in network for your insurance, or what the cost difference would be if they are not .

Please read my experience with dental care at the Smile Center as a warning of how things can go wrong at this dental office. I live in Florida, but spend the summer in Europe. I always have a routine dental cleaning in April before I leave. My previous dental office moved to another city. For this reason, I registered with Dr. Ashley Wagler at Smile Center. I had a mandatory new patient exam scheduled for April 7, two weeks before a dental cleaning appointment. I didn't have any toothache, but Dr. Wagler aggressively talked me into getting crowns. One of the crowns in the treatment plan was tooth 31. The temporary crown was placed the next day. The day after, I had pain in the lower right quadrant. I informed the office about the pain and requested the dental chart. In the past, the dental chart was always included in the treatment plan. To my surprise, the dental chart showed that the position of 32 was empty, and the wisdom tooth was placed in position 31. I was unable to discuss this error right away because Dr. Wagner was out of the office until April 14th. When she returned, I learned that the crown is ready for the wisdom tooth. There was no apology for errors on the treatment plan and dental chart. I pointed out that she didn't discuss with me an alternative treatment option: removing the wisdom tooth. Dr. Wagler's answer was: "For me it was only one option." Every day I had tooth pain and woke up often at night because of it. The placement of permanent crowns was scheduled for April 17. Just before cementation, Dr. Wagler handed me a consent form to sign. I asked for a written statement about covering the costs of wisdom tooth removal in the event of problems with this tooth. Dr. Wagler refused it. She angrily said that she would place the temporary crowns back. At that time, this option was not feasible. I only had a week before my flight to Europe, so there was no time to visit the new clinic. After the permanent crown was placed, the pain did not go away. Dr. Wagler said pain can last up to a month after the crown is placed. It's been three months, and I still feel pain when cleaning my wisdom tooth with a water irrigator, drinking cold drinks, and taking hard bites. This is a highly stressful and unfair situation to be in. I am upset, anxious, and I am looking for ways to protect myself. I hope Dr, Wagler will take responsibility for her dental malpractice.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I strongly urge anyone reading this to take the…read morenegative reviews seriously--this office is unprofessional, unempathetic, and completely ill-equipped to handle emergencies, despite claiming to be a 24/7 emergency service. I contacted them early Saturday morning for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction. I booked an appointment, arrived in severe pain, and was immediately hit with a non-refundable $275 consultation fee--a fee that was never disclosed in advance and was due regardless of whether they could provide any treatment. To make matters worse, they refused to even look at the X-rays I brought and couldn't give me any kind of quote or plan for the extraction. I had to leave due to personal reasons, still in pain and without answers. Later, in escalating pain, I called again--once at 3 a.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Sunday. Even though they advertise as a 24/7 emergency dental service, the operator (who I believe is also the doctor or owner) was visibly annoyed that I dared to call in the middle of the night. He literally complained about me calling during an emergency, telling me my situation didn't qualify as one and insisting I wait until Tuesday--two days later--to be seen. I had to argue just to be heard, as he repeatedly dismissed my condition and told me I was "wasting their time." The lack of compassion was staggering. I was treated more like a nuisance than a patient in crisis. How a medical professional--especially one running a so-called 24/7 emergency clinic--can be so dismissive and even offended by someone seeking urgent care is beyond me. The way I was spoken to by the operator/doctor/owner was degrading, and made an already painful situation so much worse. This experience was dehumanizing and infuriating. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Avoid this place at all costs.

Dentistry of Venice is my third dentist in Florida for me and my family. At 64 years old its been 60 years since my first trip to the dentist around 4 years old. They are my six dentist, and I hope (and it feels like) I will be with them for a while!! I REALLY consider this to be one of the top dental visits and experiences I have ever had. Dr. Brice is fantastic, his entire staff is AWESOME. Making and appointment painless (until YOU and your family start booking him out and I can't get in there!!!!) But I want the practice to grow and thrive and so if you want a great dental experience with a dentist of talks to you and explains and converses with you like a partner in your own health journey NOT like 28 (I never had wisdom teeth) or 32 teeth in a chair with an endless health savings account or credit card.... then this is YOUR spot!!! I had 2 dentists (first one retired) in my 45 years in Pennsylvania. Then one (1) in NY/LI for 16 years. Now in Florida like most of the healthcare game its a matter of getting in as a new patient, battling it out with the snow birds and Canadians who book up all the appointments in-season.....or they don't take insurance and want to charge you "list" or street prices and NOT reasonable and customary or even negotiated rates.... They just don't care. I sawed through two of 'those' dentists since moving here in 2021. So much i could go on about but I cracked a huge smile when I got in my car and looked at my over 1/2 century old choppers and smiled until my cheeks hurt!!! ~~~ GREAT JOB, FANTASTIC RESULTS ~~~ Thank you, Dentistry of Venice!!!!!
