This is basically the only sit down restaurant in Pella that's nicer. We were there during the Pella Tulip Festival, so we had about an hour wait to get sat which wasn't surprising, and we're were happy to wait. Our server though was either exhausted from the busy time of the festival or doesn't like her job, she made it very apparent she didn't want to be there, and it being my birthday I was pretty bummed out by her attitude. She offered other tables dessert menu but since we were about 20 minutes from closing after lunch we were just presented our check. Our food was great, it did take awhile, but again we knew what we were getting ourselves into! Everything was correct, came out hot, and delicious! If we are ever back in Pella, we would definitely stop back by again.

Let me start off by saying the ambiance and decor here is BEAUTIFUL! It looked like a luxury cabin vibe with super mindful touches and finishes. They have a beautiful lounge area when you enter that features a warm fireplace and a few casual sitting areas to grab a drink. The staff was all super kind and helpful, as well as professional. I came here for dinner on a Tuesday. They begin with complimentary bread and olive oil, and it was delicious! I ordered the steak and fries which features their daily cut. The day I was there, it was NY Strip. Unfortunately the steak was not up to par, and it was covered in a sauce which I felt was used to cover the taste. I also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts and they did feel previously frozen as well with the other veggies mixed in. The other people I was with enjoyed their dishes, so it might have just been what I ordered or an off night. Regardless, I do think this is the nicest restaurant in Pella area, and would highly recommend for a nicer dinner with friends and family!

This was an amazing restaurant. The ambiance was incredible and the food even more delicious. We had the best server who was so engaging. She took great care of us and even took the time to show us the private rooms we inquired about during our dinner. Fantastic experience!

Every time we eat here the food is amazing! The Thai wrap, pasta, pork chop, and salads are all delicious. Great wine and beer selection. The manager and staff treat you like family. Worth the drive from Des Moines.

This place is best spot in town! The atmosphere was so warm and inviting yet also perfect for date nights or business meals. The food was absolutely incredible! Pork cooked perfectly and to pair it with a proper drink. The dessert was the perfect lightness to finish the meal. Also huge shoutout to the head bartender, he and his colleagues dominated the bar calling out and knocking drinks out. It's been a while since I've seen such professionalism behind a bar. I will definitely be back here

Vibes: The ambiance was elegant, with modern décor, amazing lighting and with moderate noise levels, so perfect for great conversations. It's perfect for any occasion. Service: The service was alright; our server may have had too many tables, but she did her best. Food: Delicious and most definitely worth the drive from DSM! I started with the Portobello Fries with a side of White Truffle Aioli and all I can say is wow! The flavors paired perfectly with the mushrooms that were fried perfectly. I will drive back just to have those again. The Crab Cakes were the other appetizer, and they were good as well. I tried the Lobster Bisque which was flavorful but had no lobster which was disappointing. For my entrée I the Lobster Penne and Cheese, it had good flavor as well. I did try the Seedlips Crown Mocktail which tasted slightly like toothpaste, I wouldn't recommend. Pricing: Reasonably priced given the value of the food, worth every penny! Location/Parking: Finding parking was tricky as well as finding the actual restaurant. There is only street parking, so I had to park in front of another business. The restaurant is located on a corner inside of the Royal Amsterdam Hotel on the corner with the entrance down a passageway. I would definitely recommend it; I can't wait for the opportunity to go back!

    Filet mignon???

I ordered the filet mignon and got that overcooked hockey puck. As most foodies, I ordered the steak to be cooked medium and I feel that it was well done. Also, I don't even think that cut of meat was a fillet.

Delicious! I just love the location of this place in Downtown Pella. I like the option for a nicer place to have dinner with my mom when visiting her on a Friday evening. It's a little busy so my mom advised me that we need to get there before 5:30 or we will have to wait a long time to be seated! We got there at 5:10 on a Friday evening and were seated immediately. Great, quick service, and I really enjoyed my chicken parm. They also give a bread basket which is nice too. I always enjoy this place when I visit Pella.

My family drove all the way from St. Louis to celebrate a college graduation, and I chose Liberty Street Kitchen based on the strong Yelp reviews and menu options. Unfortunately, our experience was a huge disappointment from start to finish. We arrived as walk-ins and were told there would be a 30-minute wait. That was no issue--we waited patiently and were eventually seated. However, once we ordered, the wait for our food was incredibly long, and when it finally came out, nothing was hot or fresh. The worst part? My brother ordered a filet mignon cooked medium, and it came out completely well-done. The server acknowledged the issue, removed it from the bill, and brought a replacement. But the second attempt wasn't any better--it was cooked medium-well and it wasn't even a filet. It was a roast. Completely different cut, flavor, and texture. After such a long wait and with such poor food quality, it felt like our special occasion was brushed off. I expected a much better experience based on the reviews, but sadly, I won't be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

    Over salted mussels.
    Amy J.

Maybe it was because I came at closing and they thought they were at the end of their salt container when making their mussels. But wow! Their mussels dish was SALTY. My fingers were burning by the time I was done with the dish. Great amount but wow so salty. The bread was also completely soaked in butter. So if your body is ready to take on that much butter and salt, then this dish is for you. The corn chowder was good. Service was good. Ambiance was good.

She proceeded to walk around and look at different tables. It wasn't that busy, but all the empty tables were still dirty with dishes on them. She went around looking for someone to clean tables. Which I don't know why she couldn't clean up a table really quick herself. She went back toward the restrooms, then started circling to find someone to clean tables. She could have clean several tables in that time. Finally a gal came to us and apologized for the wait because she was in the bathroom. We didn't need to know that. But she did clean a table for us to sit at. After sitting there for about 15 minutes, we left. That is the second time in about a year we have left because the service was so bad and slow. As far as the gal that seated us, she told at least 2 other groups that she had been in the bathroom. NOBODY WANTS TO KNOW THAT! When she was in there, maybe she could have washed the fresh-looking tomato sauce stain off her shirt.

So we sat down and waited for our waitress for a moment and she appeared to be very overworked and not enough help. One waitress was trying to bartend, greet, and help deliver food from the kitchen all at the same time. Everyone was friendly and our waitress kept checking on us a couple times, just doesn't have enough help. The food was great, no complaints, just could have been a bit warmer. The wait is always terrible at Applebees. We usually wait always at least 25 mins for our food, And it was not busy. The Ambiance was okay, Just pretty dark, good natural light though! The Window sills were dirty and the bathrooms needed some better cleaning, but nothing too bad. The Music was very intrusive and needs to be turned down, coming from a music lover!

We had the Baja Shrimp Taco special last Wed and restaurant week started so we had the entire Thai tasting menu on Friday. It was fabulous - please check it out. It is Midwest hot, not Thai hot. Staff is always great. We almost always end with carrot cake - I had ZoeBakes carrot cake in the Twin Cities and it was not anywhere close to as tasty as The Cafe's version. I would agree with some other posts that the lighting in some areas makes it very hard to read the menus or see your food. Updated lighting would be helpful. We try to come early and get a spot near the windows so that we can see better.

Disappointed to say the least, I came in the back door not realized there was a correct door and was rudely cut off by other patrons at the front desk. I had to wait several minutes to be waited on and the place had plenty of spots. Maybe because I was a party of 1... they didn't seem to care. After I shared what drink I wanted, I learned they were out... fine no problem. I asked about the Thai specials, the waitress was clueless. I had to ask for the restaurant week menu and ask about the specials. She said they looked good but couldn't describe them and hasn't tasted them. I got the salad on special, but get this... they were out of the main restaurant week special... such a let down. The ambiance was mixed, one corner was a cute date night the other corner was crying children. All dimly lit and outdated decor. The whole experience was off, I ended up leaving after my one drink and salad. I hope to give this place a second chance sometime but hope they aren't out of dishes and I can get a trained server. Maybe another night for sure!
