My wife and I had decided to go for a little drive and get a milkshake, we drove about 15 minutes to this location as we have never had any issues, we went through the drive through and there was a car in front of us. The car was there for about 7 minutes (as long as we were there, probably even longer) before they finally pulled up to the drive through window. We waited for more than 5 minutes for someone to say something through the speakers, I said hello multiple times and decided to pull forward and reverse in case I didn't set off the sensor, while doing so I saw the car in front of me paying through the window so we waited at the speaker for some more time. I went to the window, knocked on the shelf and no one came. So I drove around again and we waited a couple more minutes before finally calling, and asking if they have no one working drive through right now, because we have been waiting for 20 minutes, The girl on the phone said drive through was closed, and she's working by herself and that we can come in and wait in line. She seemed too stressed to handle the influx of customers on her own, and she hung up on us, we tried calling back to get her name and managers name, and as my wife was asking for the owners name, since she now changed her story to "the owner was just in and told me not to worry about drive through" she hung up again. So it's not entirely on her but more so on management for staffing a minor alone on a 70 degree Sunday night, and not closing down the drive through properly or at least letting customers that have been waiting for 20 minutes know through the headset that they aren't going to take your order. We didn't mind going somewhere else and now, always will. But for the employee to hang up on a customer twice is ridiculous. One of the owners replied to my wife's emails and admitted that "her statement wasn't accurate, and they've been having issues with the drive through headset, but was no way informed not to man the drive through." "I apologize for the wait you had to endure" in the end there was no "wait" just a waste of time ( 30 minutes not including the drive) as she refused to serve us in the drive through. EDIT : The unprofessional owner or "one of the owners" already replied to my review but after emailing back and forth he decided to come back on here and edit his comment (absolutely professional) neither of us berated or yelled at your employee, she has proven to be a liar as you already admitted in YOUR OWN EMAILS. Not only that but all of our emails and communications were professional, the owners only tried actually resolving this situation AFTER my review. Will add photos of the exchange. "Your husband posting a review was uncalled for as we were having a conversation" your first email ended with actually zero resolve other than saying you will work on the issue, and thanks for bringing it to your attention. I did not know what to expect when we drove to Redding. I was expecting more mountains, although they might've been visible if it was not so overcast on the day we drove through. The surprising fact was that Redding is at a low altitude surrounded by pastureland. Redding was not our final destination, only a rest stop on our journey to Oregon. My only previous knowledge of the area was that it was a good flyfishing destination. While I cannot attest to its abundance of flyfishing waters, because I did not fish or see many rivers on the drive through, I can confirm that Redding is a great place to experience California's dairy culture, if by this I mean enjoying the Taste & See Creamery. It takes a lot for an ice cream parlor to reach the status of memorable, bare minimum is for the ice cream to be homemade, and by homemade I mean that the business itself makes the ice cream. There are a surprising number of ice cream shops that only serve ice cream produced by a large manufacturer. These types of ice cream shops are not in the business because they enjoy the craft of quality ice cream; instead, they only want to feed the thirsty tourists with no incentive that they will return. In contrast to these tourist shops, Taste & See is the model ice cream parlor for ice cream quality. My wife's mint and berry ice cream tasted like it had been freshly made with mint and berries from the local farmer's market. My draft chocolate was rich and creamy.
