We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was here. We had just finished a backpacking trip in Garibaldi Provincial Park and decided to grab some food on our way back down to Vancouver. We parked on a side street nearby and snagged one of the few open tables - it was pretty busy the entire time we were there (on a Thursday ~2pm), with both small and larger groups coming in and out. Very busy and popular local place. Came here for a quick dinner and they got my order wrong - pork but I wanted chicken over rice. However the food itself was delish. Note that the $2 extra "omelette" is actually a fried egg. The pork was really tasty though - and I loved that they included some pieces of grilled fatty pork which taste so goood. There was a line out the door at dinner time, so this must be a popular local place. We got the fresh spring rolls, one with shrimp and one with tofu. Pictured is the "tofu" salad roll. It was not tofu, but some sort of salty meat substitute that did not taste anything like tofu. The only other ingredients in the salad rolls are shredded iceberg lettuce and vermicelli noodles. For $13.50, I would expect the rolls to contain some sort of herbs (basil and/or cilantro) and be overall higher quality. The shrimp was also unseasoned and overall the rolls were flavorless. Maybe the other food here is better, but the spring rolls are not worth getting. read more

I wasn't expecting much from the restaurant but I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food here. Yes, the bowl of noodles was on the high end, but you have a large bowl and good amount of meat for the house special. In that respect, it makes up for the price. I am also surprised that the soup was surprisingly rich, and did not feel like they cut corners (I hope). It was on the oily side but I feel that is a good sign that they used real bones, instead of a spice packet or flavour packet instead. It's a small place but it was "busy" for 7 PM on a Wednesday. It was a chilly but fine weekday after many days of rain, I felt like having a short trip out of Vancouver so my wife and I drove to Squamish and it was our first time visiting there. We felt hungry and surprised to found a Vietnamese restaurant there. We wondered if this is the only Vietnamese restaurant in the town so we were curious to give it a try. The restaurant has many small paintings of the Vietnamese culture. The server gave us a welcoming smile and led us to the table. We didn't have to wait for long to order the goods. Pho is definitely the first thing to order. From the previous reviews many people mentioned the broth were very rich in taste. When I had a sip of the broth it tasted good but taste is not as rich some people described. There were many beef in the pho and beef balls tasted nice. Amazing pho. It's the best I've had, as the broth is really delish and rich without being heavy. The portion size is huge and they gave us the perfect amount of meat for the soup (one of my friends needed a bit more noodles, which the restaurant graciously provided). The service was kind, our waitress chatted with us and was very kind. This is a premium business and we are so happy to have stopped by. Solid Pho in a place that I didn't expect to get solid pho with all the oceans and mountains. We had a beef pho with steak and brisket and a pho ga. Both are very solid with good savory broth. Interesting new Vietnamese place that's fast enough that it competes against fast food places for speed. When we stopped by here, their pho was ready in about three minutes. The thing I find interesting about this place is that their featured dish is phở đặc biệt which, while not as out there as something like bún bò huế, contains ingredients that many people who grew up in Canada would find a bit weird (my dining companion found it a bit off-putting and wasn't willing to try anything but the broth). However, it's also the sweetest phở, so much so that my companion said that it tasted like a dessert broth. I thought it was actually pretty good for what they were gong for, but I wonder who out there is looking for both a very sweet phở and phở with tripe in it. read more

Stopped in after a bike ride for take out. Called in my order and it took 10 minutes (Thursday night) - I ordered the Shrimp Noodle Bowl. It was so good!
