On our way out of Chattanooga, and heading home, we stopped for something sweet to get the long drive started right. This was another recommendation from the friend we were staying with, and it was a tasty stop. Pulling into the shopping center we were both pretty impressed by the layout and design of the area made to look like a small downtown, in any town America. Walking in the cashier greeted us as we entered the fun local donut shop. They had many tasty looking options which made it tough. But we each picked 2 and hit the road. Snacking on them through the drive, they were delicious addition to the day. I'll definitely visit this spot again next time, and will check out some of the other shops near by! read more

We came here after we had dinner in the plaza because we wanted to end the night with a sweet treat. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this placed closed late. There was also live music and a small crowd in the middle of Cambridge Square, so it was nice that we could pop in for a sweet treat and enjoy a show after. This place was pretty popular even when we walked in. There was a small line in front of us, but the cashiers were quick to get to us. When we were in line there were a couple of donuts that were completely out, presumably very popular donuts. Despite this, they still had a huge variety to choose from. I got a half dozen glazed donut holes and a strawberry jam filled glazed donut. I started with the donut holes and honestly, I probably could've got a dozen for myself. They were delicious, bite sized, and had a nice soft and chewy texture. I loved it, no complaints. For the next morning, I had my strawberry jam glazed donut. The next day, texture held up pretty well. It was still soft and chewy. I had my first bite and was so surprised and how much jam there was inside. Tasty Donuts does not play about filling. It was good. The jam was slightly too sweet for me, but it didn't take away from my experience. It was still tasty. I'd definitely come back again, I enjoyed what I got. So tasty, the name says it all! Tried a few of the special donuts, a snickers one and a raspberry filled donut. The snickers had so much gooey topping it was stuck to the roof of my mouth! And the raspberry had tons of great filling. This location is within a shopping complex that has a neat park space just outside. Many people have told us, "For good donuts, go to Tasty Donuts." Well, we listened and finally visited. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted. The donut shop was pretty large and cutely themed. The donut case was looking a little bare (we did visit in the early afternoon, though). Despite the donut case not being full, it still took us a while to decide what we'd like to get. For our first visit, we went with a couple of classic yeast donuts, and then upon the attendant's suggestion, we also opted for the crobar and a Louisiana style apple fritter. The yeast donuts were yummy and what you'd hope for. The crobar was unique and full of crossaint flavor. The Louisiana style apple fritter had a bit more spice, but unfortunately, it was a bit dry and stale tasting. Prices are reasonable, with some of the fancy donuts being a bit over the top. For some, though, that's the donut they enjoy and search for. Indoor seating is provided, or you can take advantage of outdoor communal seating around Cambridge Square. In all, a good first visit, and we look forward to popping in when we get a good yeast donut craving and are in the area. read more

I was looking for a team building experience for my team, and I reached out to AJ who I believe manages this location. He was more than willing to work with us since that wasn't something they've done before. We had an AMAZING and fun experience! My entire team got to learn about the business, how to prep the dough, knead the dough, and got to decorate doughnuts for each other. If you enjoy locally made donuts this is the place in Chattanooga. It's not the "gourmet" ones with all the icing and toppings (which isn't really a donut to me) but it is solidly good donuts. Their breakfast croissants are also made fresh daily. This business came back from someone wrecking into it. Most couldn't do that. They did. Their service is stellar and friendly. I checked this spot out after having dinner at 1885 located in the same plaza. When we walked in there was one female staff assisting a customer. When she finished she walked toward us and asked us what we wanted. This was my first time at a Tasty Donut so I had to check things out before making a decision. They offer a range of flavors. Honestly, so many that I had a hard time making a decision. I let the customer that came in after me place her order. I heard her order a pumpkin flavored donut. The seasonal donuts were not on display! They had about 4 different pumpkin flavored options. I finally ordered the cinnamon pumpkin. Yes, I only ordered 1 donut. I am trying to do better with eating so much processed sugar. The donut was ok. Very reminiscent of that oh so popular company called Dunkin' Donuts. It is a cake like consistency, and a decent sizeThis is coming from a girl who can eat a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts! Those things just melt in your mouth! Stopped by after dinner at El Primo. Great selection of donuts and they tasted great. I did not have one until the next day and I was pleasantly surprised they tasted fresh. I even had one the next day (apple fritter type. I heated it up for about 15 seconds and it was excellent. My experience with Dunkin is they are dried out within a few hours; these did not. I must confess I teased the young lady behind the counter, and she got a little irritated. I asked her how much is a dozen donuts and she said 12. Ouch I thought she was teasing. I said I know how many are in a dozen so can you tell me how many are in ¾ of a dozen. She got quite and I felt bad so let me apologize now. It's so nice to have a local town doughnut place that is not a corporate, heartless copy. Tried this place for the first time this early Sunday morning. Cute and cheerful. I wanted to try a variety without buying a large amount. Went with samples from their Yeast, Cake, and Fritter styles. First I am happy to say this is NOT one of those places that makes the Same doughnut base and then covers it in outrageous toppings on which the actual doughnut is just a pallet that might as well be a cardboard plate. These are prepared and made in several varieties and styles. Started with yeast doughnuts and selected the chocolate Bavarian cream. First the size is substantial, in no way one of those mini that seem to be the trend. The doughnut was light, airy and loaded with excellent tasting cream and chocolate frosting. Next was a chocolate cake cola donut. Good and not a heavy cola flavored. Finally an apple fritter, large a thin with a fair amount of apple an cinnamon. After a couple of visits, and trying a selection of their varieties, I find them disappointing. The donut foundation is good. But the flavors are very weak. Even the Key Lime and Lemon Cake donuts barely had any citrus flavor and were overpowered by ordinary sweetness. I would never be able to identify the strawberry in a blind tasting of their cream-cheese pastry. The Pine Cone was the least offensive, but still dominated by sugar. If you've got a sweet tooth that prefers sugar to flavor, then you may find them appealing. But I found it off-putting and a waste of calories. read more
