Returned to get some shrimp rolls to use for appetizers for the Super Bowl and also wanted to try their Japanese Udon Noodle soup . Their shrimp eggs rolls are nice and crisp and well stuffed , only wish they had a bit more shrimp in them .... . Otherwise they were scrumptious and enjoyed by all ! While I I tried the Japanese Yaki Udon Noodle soup for the first time so I can't compare the preparation or taste to other restaurants . I did ask for them to not make it toooooo spicy ! Not really knowing what to expect I found myself totally enjoying this soup ! Not overly salty with plenty of shrimp , swimming in a delicious savory broth with lots of noodles and a minimal amount of shredded carrots, cabbage and I think scallions. Ignorance is bliss. Growing up this was my go-to. After having Bo Wah, I now realize Yan Min's food is meh. Not very good. Wontons in Wonton Soup have strange soapy-like after taste and off-putting smell. Fried rice is bland and tasteless. General Tso's / sesame chicken we passable, but just barely. Ordered by website and was told pickup would be ready by 7:40, 8:25 I got a curt response when I asked if they had missed my order. Staff very unfriendly, although I feel like they realized and handed me 2 egg rolls as an apology for the long wait. Sadly, they were horrible. Such a shame, they've been around a long time. I ordered the Shrimp with Chinese vegetables lunch special. Most of the plate was the fried rice. It had four shrimp and the vegetables were just bok choy and a few green beans. It did taste fresh but not particularly tasty read more

Dissappointed. Told it would be 1/2 hour wait which turned into more than an hour. Then after getting home I learned that we were missing food. Had to go back and wait again. And to top it off the food was just okay. Would NOT recommend them. read more

I commute from Flushing to this area every day. I get great Chinese food in Flushing. Do when I order in Long Island it's generally disappointing. I think the Chinese restaurants out here feel they can feed white people anything and they will eat it. Let alone pay for it. This place is different. Food is tasty. Not disappointing. Went to this chinese takeout for the 1st time yesterday and ordered a simple boneless sparerib, pork fried rice lunch that knocked my socks off! I believe that the boneless spareribs were the very best that i ever had. Lean cut, little fat, marinated in a sweet sauce. Very satisfying. We stopped going to our local Chineese take out about two years ago. Just wasn't happy. We would drive to Oakdale to JJ Dynasty. They were good, but then someone suggested Yan Min. WOW!!! We were so impressed and have been many times already. Have never had a bad meal AWAYS DELICIOUS! I can't believe it's been here all this time and we never tried it. Probably some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Been searching for a decent restaurant since moving to the area and decided to give this one a try. General tso's and sesame chicken are exactly the same except they sprinkled sesame seeds on top of one. All breading that's barely sticking to the hard stringy chicken. Cheese wontons and egg rolls are soaked in oil. Hot and sour soup just down right disgusting. They should also put a disclaimer that they make it with shell fish. Will never go back. read more

I am very picky with my chinese food and this is the ONLY chinese take-out place that I enjoy eating from. I typically order chicken and broccoli from them. Chicken is always freshly cooked, the brown sauce has almost a garlic hint to it and they give an even portoon of chicken to broccoli. I've also had their egg drop soup which is amazing! This place gave me food poisoning!!! This was the worst Chinese food experience I've ever had. First, when I called to place my order, I was never told a total, or how long it would take. I was just hung up on after I was done ordering. Then, when I finally received the delivery an hour later, the food was disgusting. This was the worst general tso's chicken I have EVER had. The meat didn't look right and the breading was falling off of it. Absolutely disgusting. I woke up the next morning completely nauseous and was so sick the entire day, I couldn't even go into work. was turned onto this place by a neighbor few years ago. always good. went there 2/20/17. was early so I watched and waited. the girl answering the phone was cooking my ribs and the meat on the stick. she didn't realize I was watching, she picked up the meat on the stick with her prongs and then I saw here bend to the floor. couldn't see behind the counter but it sure looked like she dropped my food. she stood up and quickly turned her head and looked at me and smiled. she also said something to the other cook laughing.
