    Kimchee dumpling hot soup
    Navnit S.

I got the kimchee dumpling hot pot soup and it tasted amazing! Loved it more compared to the tomato one which I tried a while back. All of their products come in such large portions! Definitely worth the price. Location is awesome and service is good too but now they charge a required 13% automatic tip.

This restaurant is always packed whenever I come! But that's a good thing because the food is so good. The wait times aren't too long. Lots of tables in the restaurant and free parking in the plaza. I always order the Cheesy Milk hot pot. The cheese mixed with the hot pot items is so good!!! I like that each table has their own mini sauce station too. One hot pot is good for 1-2 people. It's usually packed with items. Other hot pots I've also tried are Lamb Hot Pot and Curry Flavour. Overall, I love coming here whenever I'm craving hot pot but I don't want ayce.

Have wanted to try this place for a while and really enjoyed the food! I definitely wouldn't say it's cheap but from the portions and quality of food, you're definitely getting your money's worth! This place pretty much gives you your own personal hotpot and more than enough food. I went with the Thai flavor hot soup. It was $21.99 + tax + (mandatory) gratuity which added up to quite a bit but there was way more food than I could finish and a lot of seafood as well! I have to admit though, the Thai flavor wasn't my favourite. It came with a side of rice noodles, glass noodles, cabbage, pork, mushrooms, squid, crab, mussels, clam, and cuttlefish rings, along with some other vegetables. It was very filling and delicious! Though based on the price and the fact I didn't like the Thai flavor too much, I probably won't be coming back too soon. But maybe for a special occasion!

This is Taiwanese hot pot place, we came in Friday lunch time and got seated immediately. It's spacious and quiet inside with comfortable seatings. The menu is quite limited , main menu only has hot pots. We ordered two hot pots: satay beef and vegetable, yam fries are very crispy . Popcorn chicken is average compared to other Taiwanese restaurants. They also have various bubble tea options, which is good! The staff is friendly and service is very good, they also offer 5% discount for cash payments.

Similar to a hotpot meal but meat and assorted carbs/vegs came together cooking in same pot. Base has a candle to keep meal piping hot. Choice of either rice or noodles; beef or pork. The rest of stuff differs based on soup broth choice. Soup base can be normal or spicy, I chose spicy which was the right decision. The spiciness was just right. Big difference from normal hotpots is the meat is fully cooked when delivered to you, cannot control the doneness as in normal hotpots places. If you don't like well done meat then please choose another place. Both satay and tomato base soups were full flavored. Examples of "other stuff"; tofu, corn taro, mussel, clam, beef ball, fish ball, fish cake, rice cake, quail egg, etc. Attention stinky tofu lovers. Their tofu will stink up a perfume factory. For a Tuesday night, this place was packed. Pay cash for 5% discount

I came with a friend (i.e. table for two) around noon for lunch. We were both surprised to see how busy this place was on a weekday (i.e. Tuesday). I'm pretty sure these aren't people who work nearby and having their lunch break, as this type of food isn't really a quick grab-n-go. It seemed like everyone was here like us, to socialize and catch up over a meal. The place is quite spacious. I love that there's a lot of comfortable booth seating and that the benches are made of plastic - meaning easy to wipe down and keep clean. Overall, the restaurant was kept tidy and clean. The washroom was a bit more of your typical sketchy Chinese restaurant washroom though (heh). For women's, it's a two staller, though one was out of service. It's cramped but not so small that you'll swipe a wall when turning around. Thankfully, there's paper towel to dry your hands and not hand dryers (which only spread germs in my opinion). Now back to the food. This was my first time ever having individual-sized hot pot. I opted for the "Cheesey Milk Hot Soup" which I had already had my heart set on when reviewing the menu before coming. It comes with Taiwanese cabbage, pork slices, vermicelli, mini sausage, enoki mushroom, tomato, corn, broccoli, king oyster mushroom, quail egg, cheese, bamboo shoot, soft tofu, imitation crabmeat, fish fillet, kamaboko, and cheese ball; as a preset but you can also eliminate and/or add toppings to make it to your liking. Soup base was surprisingly light yet flavorful, and ordering it at mild spice level was perfect for me. I was as curious as to how thirsty I would be after the meal, which I think says a lot, but I was actually okay. Portion-wise, I was well satisfied after the meal. Overall, it felt like a well balanced meal with a little bit of carbs, meat, and veggies. Oh, I should also mention that at each table, they lay out four complementary sauces that you can use unlimitedly. I've included a photo but there are: soybean sauce, garlic soy, satay sauce, and Sriracha hot chilli sauce. If you visit between 11 am to 3 pm, you also get a complementary green or black tea (hot or cold), or you can upgrade your drink for an additional $3 to one of their milk tea beverages. I got their cold green tea with no ice and regular sugar - this was perfect to cool down after the hot meal. Speaking of which, I'm curious as to how their little pots work because it kept the food hot the whole time while eating, and when I was done, it stopped steaming?! Timer perhaps? Service was overall okay, there's not much to it. Upon seating, they came over to help me set a place with a bowl, napkin, and utensils; but never explained that you scan the QR code on the wall to view the menu and order - we kind of just realized on our own. No compliants though, I prefer this kind of ordering system because it lets you really think through your options and eases the process, especially for an introvert such as myself. When the food is ready, it is brought over personally by one of their employees. The most service we got was when someone came over and asked if we wanted more broth added to our pots. The last of it was getting the bill and having them clean our table. The pot I chose was $18.99 and the other flavors are at a similar price point, unless you choose something like the lobster pot at $25.00 plus. A neat fact we learned upon paying is that there is a cash discount (I believe around 10% off, they didn't actually say how much) and the option to leave your phone number to collect points. All in all, a great first time experience and I'd definitely visit again.

    Stinky Tofu Hot Soup ($18.99)

I finally was able to check this joint out! This place was highly recommended by all my friends in the States as they have over 38+ locations all over North America. This place is ideal for those of you who wants convenient style hotpot as they are famous for their individual "hotpot". It's basically a big pot of soup filled with cooked ingredients with your choice of noodles on the side to accompany your soup with. I opted for the Taiwan Stinky Tofu Hot Soup while my boyfriend picked the Kimchi Hot Soup. The serving size was generous (as seen in my photos) and easily shareable between 2 people for those who didn't have a big appetite... or those who wanted to have a "round 2" meal for next day. They have extra condiments on the side if you wanted to elevate your soup- satay sauce, soy sauce, chili sauce, etc. The stinky tofu soup was flavourful, not overly salty and filled with so many ingredients- pork slices, quail eggs, clams, hotdog sausage... The stinky tofu was a little disappointed as you only get TWO pieces of tofu, and it wasn't the traditional kind that we all knew- deep fried. No, their kind was a piece of regular tofu that HAS the taste of stinky tofu. As a stinky tofu lover, I am disappointed. Overall, I would still come back to try other kinds of soup they offer as I love their portion and worth my buck!

This is #1, the beef soup. This is good for the super plain palate

Moving into chillier weather, hot soup is perfect. My girl friends and I just wanted some comfort food. Tasty Pot was perfect and we'll be back for sure! Great menu choices, although I do find $17.99 a bit steep. I'd give a 3.5 stars for overall, but rounded up. Parking is a hit and miss, the Times Square parking lot can be a gong show. Washroom is teeny tiny. Def not for larger people or if you need to go in with a child.

Mild or Flaming Spicy? Vegetarian or Meat/Seafood? I had been to Tasty Pot twice and both times the experience were excellent. Flaming Spicy vs Mild vs NO Spicy. Each of us have our own hot pot. I love my Flaming Spicy Stinky Tofu hot pot. The ingredients were fresh. Taste was OK. Service was fast and friendly. They accepts credit cards.

Autumn chill is finally upon us. So what better way to stay warm than a hotpot meal. Hard to go wrong with the colourful assortment of flavours at Tasty Pot for Taiwanese-style hot soups. It's certainly better here than when I tried it in Taipei, dining facing the open door partially exposed to the cold wind! For starters, Tasty Pot has a decent interior in which we were seated in a cozy corner table. Its menu far exceeded the low bar that I set. Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hotpot contained a heaping portion of beef, noodles, mushroom, rice cake, clam, blood rice cake & much more. It was mildly spicy, as the menu indicated. The Lamb Hotpot arrived in medium size with fish cakes, lamb slices, napa, crabmeat, beef ball, vermicelli. Mix with garlic soy sauce & satay sauce, and it's perfect with a bowl of noodles. Broth was savoury, and dinner portions left us more than full. Asiatic deliciousness! This first visit made me eager to try Tasty Pot again. For an encore, I also had an opportunity to try Seafood Lobster & Japanese Miso Hotpots, which were equally savoury. Of note, minced pork rice bowls added some Taiwanese flare. However, takeout portions were a bit less appetizing. TLDR: it's better to dine-in for the full-on & piping hot experience. Tasty Pot has 32 locations spread across the US and Canada. I visited this Richmond Hill location but was then pleasantly surprised when the same restaurant in California popped up on my Yelp feed. Guess it goes to show that the appetite for individual-sized hotpot transcends borders & climate zones!

The staff won't bother you unless you wave them down. The food overall was good and VERY hot. If your flame runs out, the staff will relight it. But otherwise, could be more attentive. It gets quite busy on the weekends, so get there early to add your name to the wait list.

Absolutely one of the best discoveries for winter. Situated in the busy time square in Richmond hill, Tasty Pot actually has quite a few tables. They have a really good value pre dinner from 3:30pm to 5pm where you can get a free bubble tea with your meal. Every pot comes with a choice of vermicelli or rice. The fresh ingredients in the piping hot soup is such a wonderful pairing to the current weather. I can keep coming back again and again!

First time trying out this place this week and I already been back twice. I can def see myself coming back every month and just in time for hot pot season. This place is good if you're not looking for AYCE/al la carte hot pot. Each pot has different toppings and they have a lot of soup base to choose from. So far, I've tried mild Thai Style (which is basically Tom Yum Soup), mild cheesy milk (surprisingly my favourite) and curry. I think the curry would have been better if I got mild because no spice made it taste bland/watered down. They give you four sauces: soybean paste, garlic soy, satay sauce, and chilli oil. Soybean paste mixed with the garlic sauce was amazing. I also tried the spicy stinky tofu & shaved ice with taro balls. Both were good in their own ways but I wouldn't order them again. Service was really good. The girl was really nice and attentive to our table. They also didn't rush us to leave even though they had a lot of people waiting. The only reason why I took of one star was because I wish the noodles came with free refills. Just felt that it would justify the price a bit more. They also have a point system when you give them your phone number. 5 points gets you one free drink, 8 points gets you two and 10 points can get a free pot. It really makes you want to come back for more lol.

One of the most popular dishes here is their popcorn chicken 盐酥鸡 because it's crunchy, lightly battered and juicy. It's a must try, along with the braised pork rice 卤肉饭 or the soup filled dumplings 小笼包 which are always on point. Well known for their beef noodle soup which is tasty. The beef was very tender, the broth had a nice flavour and the noodles had good texture. Their oyster pancake was not as flavourful as the ones I've had at the night markets in Taiwan but it's nice to have this on the menu since not all Taiwanese restaurants in Toronto offer it. Located on Yonge Street, north of Elgin Mills Road in Richmond Hill, it is a great place for takeout, dine in or delivery.

One step in, I was impressed by the warm atmosphere. I was here for pick up # XLB # Pan fried dumpling While I was waiting, staff offered me a seat, asking if I would like some tea - again, this place was very busy when I came here, but they treated me with such a sweet/kind manner. XLBs were very good!!!!!!!! Though the seasoning was very moderate, each piece was beautifully hand pleated. The wrapper was very similar to that of the famous chain (DTF), thin and strong. I can feel a pleasant "bite" in the soft, thin layer. Delicate. The meat filling was tender, melt in the mouse with soup - whole integration was excellent. Satisfied! Pan fried dumpling had a thin wrapper. Because my preference for Pan fried dumpling is thick and chewy (like Northern style) and meaty one, I was not as impressed. But it is good for those who like thinner wrapper and healthier option as it had a lot of cabbage inside. This was also moderate seasoned but came with dipping sauce (vinegar & soy & chili). This place made me want to come back - next time for eat in, and love to try a popular noodle item (Beef noodle)!

I was going to ask the man behind the counter if he had them. Instead, he said that he'd be back and I could look at the menu. It was delivered in a not-now-I'm-busy tone. It was odd. It's the only reason why this place doesn't get five stars. I'm so glad that Jason was with me. He said that the woman at CF Markville suggested that he get the high mountain pouchong tea with lemon juice and konjac. I decided to go with this drink. I got this drink with less sugar and less ice. I paid with my debit card on my phone. I tapped and was done. It didn't take much time for this drink to be made. It was nice chatting up a storm with Jason as we waited. The moment of truth was here. My drink was ready. I took a sip. It was awesome! The foam tasted like lemon meringue. The tea was perfect with the lemon juice. The konjac was chewy. I haven't had konjac since I visited Song Tea eons ago (rest in bubble tea peace). I wish that this drink came in a larger size. I drank it too fast... haha! I had a great experience with my friend's recommendation. I like that there's lot of parking in this plaza. I'd return again for more good bubble tea. Maybe staff will be more cheerful then. (437)

The C05 Baked Cheese Pork Cutlet is a must-try -- I had it over tomato rice and the melted cheese and tender pork cutlet combo was delicious. Love the variety of sauce choices too (black pepper, tomato, curry, cream of mushroom). The complimentary HK milk tea is a great bonus, and food court prices match the lunch special -- you really can't go wrong here!

There were booths throughout the restaurant and it was quite casual with it being a popular spot for families on the weekend. Food: The house special Taiwanese style minced pork on rice was okay, but more savoury and not at all like the dish in Taiwan (which is more balanced and slightly sweeter). The portion for the three cup chicken was also quite small, and didn't have much flavour other than soy sauce. The mixed meat on instant noodles was very disappointing, with very few slices of pork and a Western-style sausage rather than Taiwanese sausage, and only a single piece of brocolli (similar to the minced pork dish). The flavours of all these dishes missed the mark and were quite disappointing. The desserts tasted okay, but also could've been better, with the pudding being quite bland and the toast being too powdery. Service: The staff were helpful in trying to help us use the app to order and get the free milk pudding. They were attentive and quick to provide us with lemon water and food was served quite fast as well. Might visit in the future for desserts, but probably not for a full meal
