After extensive research and phone interviews with multiple DJs, I happened upon Tasty Sounds Entertainment through a recommendation of another DJ. After speaking with Al on the phone, I knew he was our DJ. We wanted music that our guests (of all generations) could enjoy and dance to. This guy is such a freaking creep!!! I have waited for over 2 years to post this review because now I am no longer at the company I once worked for. So originally I asked for a quote the budget (NOT my budget) for the company's Christmas party was 600 I used gifmaster and said that's the FIRM budget. This guy still quoted me starting at 1500$ and then in that quote stated that I was going to look bad and I was going to have a Craigslist a mature monkey with the budget. Again I was given the budget by my boss.... so I went on here and gave him a 1 star review for his unprofessionalism... you think that was unprofessional please get this ... HE EMAILED MY EMPLOYER! So this means this man had to stalk me and find out my employer and stalk the company website to find the emails of my bosses... and he didn't just emailed them once BUT 3 times aaannnddd this man STALKED my yelp profile, and emailed all of my bosses saying that I only review nail salons and kfc's what a freaking A**! Seriously !!!! Then my employer didn't care and let me leave it up for about 3 weeks but the fact that this man repeatedly emailed them asking why hasn't anyone emailed back so then my employer just told me to take it down because he's sick of this mans bitching. Tasty Sounds and DJ Al were very accommodating to our last minute needs(Less than 2 weeks). Even though it was last minute, the comfortability and professionalism that Tasty Sounds provided was like we have been planning for months. DJ Al even shared that he comes from a Military Family that still lives in the Antelope Valley area, so he moved around his schedule to come to our event. Mike was great on mixing our songs on ceremony and reception for our entrances. Tasty Sounds was referred by a colleague of mine so I gave it a shot. I'm glad I got the referral and I'm very thankful to have DJ Al (owner) as my DJ/MC for the wedding. Al and I initially had a phone conversation where he gauged what exactly I was looking for. I told Al on the phone that I was on a limited budget and he respected that. After a short conversation on the phone I gained that Al has been doing this for a while--he definitely knows his stuff. Later on James and I had an in person interview where Al sorted out what type of music we'd like to hear played at the ceremony, wine and appetizer hour, and reception. Next we figured out how we were going to excuse people to the buffet, when the dances were going to occur, etc. Then he laid out a timeline on how things would flow. All the while Al answered any questions I had and remained in communication with us up until the day of wedding. A special note: James and I had really obscure choices for music and Al totally respected our choices. ON THE BIG DAY...... Al showed up on time and had a special CD I specifically made for the prelude playing at 3pm--right on time. Everything went seemlessly at the ceremony, the whole 7 minutes of it! :) Despite not having a Hora scheduled at the reception a few of my relatives wanted to initiate James into the family by doing the infamous chair dance. DJ Al was on top of it and was able to "herd the cats". Al is really good at getting people together and out on the dance floor. More people were were dancing than we thought and we were all having a blast! When things started to wind down we had a segment of time where nobody wanted to get out on the dance floor. The music choice was fine I think people were either getting to danced-out or were too busy mingling, drinking, eating or going to the photo booth. Then one of our friends had Al download a few songs that got all the nerd crowd out dancing. Yay for Al for being so easy-going! I have no complaints about Al, he was wonderful! I hired Tasty Sounds to entertain at my 60th birthday party. It was a great experience. My DJ was professional and friendly and he was able to find all the music I wanted (which was no small task as I was doing a 1940s theme!) I met the dj's of Tasty Sounds at a wedding expo at the Odyssey restaurant right after I had just proposed to my now wife. On first glance, they had a very professional vibe, everyone there was in suits and really friendly and not too pushy. Al gave me a couple follow up emails and calls and my wife and I met with him to discuss what we wanted and how we envisioned our reception would play out. He discussed the packages available and for what price. Heads up, Al is a pro and his prices reflect that. My wife really liked Al and we both felt really comfortable with him as our DJ. He ended up giving us a solid deal for a cocktail hour and four hours for the reception. He also has other cool packages (photo booth, lighting, etc.) but we chose to just go with the DJ package and I never felt pressured to buy or upgrade to anything else once we declined. At the reception itself (we had it at the Odyssey), Al made sure that everything went smoothly. Things can get hectic quickly but Al kind of took care of logistics after our ceremony heading into the reception. Everything went super smooth and he helped make our wedding a great night. We also told him we didn't want certain things and wanted some other specific things and he was very accommodating and made sure we got what we wanted. Everyone danced all night and I've been asked by multiple guests for his contact info. DJ Al traveled all the way to San Diego for our wedding this past March. We sought him out because 5 years ago, he DJ'd my sister's wedding in Simi Valley! (She had seen him at another wedding in Santa Monica! The guy travels!) Everyone at my sister's wedding had an amazing time, and this time around, DJ Al delivered once again! This review is WAY overdue. Our event was on September 30th. It was my husband's retirement. We had it at a new venue. I have to admit, I probably was a hard client to please. We are big fans of country music so we only had Tasty Sounds (Al , the owner) only play country music. making sure that everything was done and Al exceeded my expectation. He was on time, set up was done, and even pitch-in where we could. Did sound check and before I knew it music was on. Even though the speakers were in the ear shot of many of the guests he made sure it was not blaring into our ears either. Great job. He was knowledgeable, responsive, he listened to what we wanted and helped us to decide on our final schedule and his website was very easy to use and helped us to organize our music for the evening.
