The DJing was the easy part, but the energy/enthusiasm to get the crowd going and entertained all night is a different skill altogether. Really didn't have to worry much about the music portion - which was nice since we did the wedding planning. At first we were bummed and felt limited with our choices, but it was a blessing in disguise. Shawn was the first DJ we contacted from the list. Shawn helped us out, and stayed in contact every step of the way from the day we called to hire him! We're truly glad that we listened to her advice because Shawn was a thoughtful, professional, and awesome DJ (and he has good taste in music). Anyone who's ever planned a wedding knows how stressful it can be, and Shawn went out of his way to make sure we felt at ease. It's the little details that matter. Shawn made it easy for us to send him our playlists, whether it was itunes, spotify, or even just a list of MP3s. He had no problems finding our songs (90's golden era hip hop) and even suggesting some good additions (Sade - By Your Side - Neptunes Remix). Shawn also took the time to review our wedding schedule and made comments/suggestions about what games might be feasible, and possible scheduling revisions we might want to take a look at. Shawn is a great DJ and an excellent MC. My hubby and I booked him on a recommendation from my planner. He is very reasonably priced as my sister's DJ friend provided a quote with a "friend discount" which was still much more pricey than Shawn. He's very nice and accommodating as we had 4 different requests just for ceremony music. He has a huge library of songs to choose from, all the classic 80s and 90s stuff and today's hip music. He answered all my questions quickly and promptly, kept an open channel of communication, is very professional, and was so helpful with his ideas and suggestions when I had no idea what to expect.
