The Tasty Toucan is only a 3 minute drive from the Terrapin Nature Park, and was the perfect cold relief after a long day in the sun. I loved that they had so much variety in their menu options, especially with the amount of fruit flavors offered (my personal preference). I had a very hard time deciding what to get! They also had a huge list of milkshakes, as well as other frozen treats like Mexican popsicles. I settled on the lemon blueberry ice cream, which was tart and super creamy. Absolutely perfect ice cream, I devoured it in seconds! The interior of the shop is relatively small, but there were two larger indoor tables and some smaller outdoor ones. Fun spot on the historic main street of Stevensville. This was our first visit to Kent Island, and found ourselves checking out the small pocket of shops, the restaurant and TASTY TOUCAN! The space itself is open and clean - and the two workers were friendly when we arrived. I love the fun decor and the options for ice cream / milkshakes felt endless (ok, they ended, but so many to choose from!) They also had a cooler with ice cream samples, popsicles, and MD Crab delights - soup was there for sure, I didn't check out the rest. I settled on a Mint Choc Cookie milkshake and loved sipping it at their cute little outdoor tables they have set up next to cornhole boards, sidewalk chalk, and a giant connect four board. Stopped by after a visit to Matapeake Beach and Stevensville Crab Shack, both of which made for a great day and ice cream sounded like the perfect punctuation. The location is adorable and clean with ample island vibes and an outdoor lounge with games and seating. Ordered the toffee crunch which did not have toffee nor crunch -- tasted more like a butterscotch swirl. My friend ordered a triple scoop and only one was what he asked for. We highly enjoyed our impromptu visit. We were returning home and figured let's get something good. They have vegan options, but It only turned out to be popsicles. The service was friendly and patient. I enjoyed how chill It all was. I just got a small small scoop of raspberry chocolate chunk. The flavor was spot on. And the fudge on top was good too. The place was very clean and we noticed they had a patio outside that had a huge connect four game. Lots of small tables. Looks like a great place to hang out. The rest of my group had shakes. Sorry Ben & Jerry's but you've been replaced! After an impromptu decision to explore Stevensville, I saw Tasty Toucan on the corner of the main road and popped in. The best decision I ever made. The flavours are unique, fresh, light, and varied in terms of meeting allergy needs. The staff was so kind and welcoming and everyone leaving the shop looked so happy. We live close to DC so it's not a quick drive, but if I'm ever passing by I will pull over just for a scoop of Tasty Toucan! read more

Ok so when you want something sweet after eating a meal this is a great dessert option. I noticed they had a non dairy option (ice pops) which is great to find at an ice cream shop. They give you options on cones and container sizes and had a good amount of topping options. I got blueberry crunch with cookie crumbles on a sugar cone and it was delicious! I loved how they decorated the place and my son and niece enjoyed the photo op corner with the beach chairs and inflatable tubes and balls. The service was great and the ice cream was easy on my stomach unlike other ice creams I have had. We highly recommend it and will be going back. A gem indeed on a cold winter night. read more

We used to love this place and it was our must stop after visiting the Eastern shore. Not any more. Sad to see one more place trying to squeeze its own bottom line at the expense of customers. The quality of ice cream had deteriorated, to the point that boxed Breyers tastes better :( and they give you half size scoops of what it's used to be. It is a good location, good customer service and would be nice to have ice cream quality correspond to the price paid by the customers! read more

I couldn't really decide what I wanted to have so I I got a pre-made sundae with peanut butter, chocolate fudge, peanuts, and vanilla ice cream. It was really good!! It was exactly what I wanted and the peanuts were great! My friend got a cone with two flavors and she also really enjoyed it. They have seating outside with several tables and benches and the space inside is spacious but does not have seating as an fyi. The staff were friendly and even though there was a line for ordering, they moved quickly and got people their ice cream within minutes. Horrible customers service. My family were coming from Kent Island Dog beach, as you can assume we had our dogs with us, so we searched up a ice cream place that was dog friendly, low and behold we found this place that claimed "pets were welcomed" and thought it was perfect until we walked in and immediately were greeted with an attitude. We sent one of our family members in to make sure it was pet friendly, there were some little girls behind the counter and one girl behind the counter told us it was not. Which was not the issue (although they do state there pet friendly.) Another girl behind the counter then said "What were these people thinking trying to bring dogs in here." In a nasty attitude and didn't even have decency to say this in private. I found this to be disrespectful and unprofessional to say to a customer who literally got that information of YOUR websites. The place was empty and the whole time they were ignoring us and rushing us to get out. Was very disappointed with the service here. read more

Came here with my 3-year-old granddaughter. She wanted a cone, but I thought it would be too messy on a warm day and so I suggested a cup. The person behind the counter came up with a clever solution. She put a very small scoop in a cone and put the rest of the order in a cup. Problem solved.
