Searching around for a new hair stylist and I came upon Mina via instagram. I am so glad I did…read morebecause she is an expert at her craft, and gave me exactly what I asked for. I already knew I loved the color when it was washed and wet. Happy to say that I will be definitely returning.

I'd like to update my review from the initial review I gave the salon when they first opened and I…read moregave them 5 stars. I've been going to this salon for years and have always had great experiences and service. Lately, I have been traveling quite a bit and haven't gone in about a year. During this time, my go to stylist, Allison, had left the salon. Because of this I was reluctant as I wasn't informed she was leaving and I wasn't sure who I'd trust at this point to style my hair. I wasn't assured the brand new stylist they have would be a good fit because she was the same level as Allison. Upon my arrival, I was excited to visit the salon once again and begin treating my hair with them. A very strange looking lady approached me and introduced herself as the stylist that would attend to me. I was extremely reluctant to go with her and trust she would know how to take care of my needs for my hair. I asked for a TRIM, conditioner, and blow out. This lady kept cutting my hair and cutting and cutting. I had long bangs that outgrew and I was okay with that, but she said she would clean it up. She CHOPPED the bangs off so much. They were about two inches above my eyebrows. Picture that for a second. So now, my hair was down to my back and now is chopped off to my shoulders and my bangs are completely ridiculous. When I stopped her from continuing cut, she grabbed a mirror and showed me the back of my hair. It was completely uneven; completely. So she began to fix it and continue cutting. She then whacked me on my eyebrow with the brush and she absolutely did not know how to properly part my hair as a professional stylist and blow dry my hair. She seemed like it was her first time blow drying. I have to question if she is a licensed stylist just by the entire experience. I approached the owner who took me to the back and evened the hair out and tried to blow try my hair to attempt to fix it. He asked if I gave her a photo of what I wanted and I said no because it was supposed to simply be a trim. No more than an inch and a half at most. I looked at how horrible my hair was at this point and kept saying, "I can't believe this." No discount and I paid ladies. That is the last money they will ever see from me. I will never return and I have spread the word. This is unacceptable, especially after I heard the owner and the manager talking badly about me as if I had no reason to be upset. This experience was traumatic and now I'm dealing with people asking me, "what happened to your hair?" It's nothing I can do and I have to just wait until my hair grows out a little. But the bangs? There's nothing I can do to even move it away or hide it. This is the WORST haircut I've ever received and I hope all reading this caution before coming here for a trim. Especially since there are other clients that have complained about bad haircuts here.

The entire team of makeup artists are talented, positive, professional, and friendly - they make you feel so comfortable no matter what service you're there for. Over the years, Muah has become a staple in my beauty routine (the individual lashes have changed my LIFE and given me so much more confidence) and has been a must in all of my biggest life events - engagement photos (twice), my wedding, weddings of my friends, special events. I have never been disappointed in the quality of service, and have left each time feeling so good about myself, which is worth its weight in gold. There is honestly no one I would ever trust more to take care of my makeup needs before an event or night out. For the quality of service, the prices are unparalleled, and honestly such a deal for the area. Muah also offers transformational glam, which is an awesome service and commitment to our LGBQT+ family, as well as photography packages, makeup classes, and tanning. This is a full service spot, and one that is inclusive to such a variety of needs. The products used and sold at Muah are also incredibly high quality. The skincare is on par with brands I've spent 4x the amount on, the makeup is long lasting, incredibly affordable, and again, the highest of quality. I cannot recommend enough. Ashlee, Jess, Allison, and the rest of the team really focus on perfecting their craft, and working with each individual person who enters Muah to make sure that they feel their most beautiful. And seriously - go get the individual lashes, but be prepared to become as addicted to them as I am.

She asked me what I was thinking of and worked collaboratively with me to make sure that my make up was exactly what I wanted it to be. The girls in the shop suggested that I do the trial before an event so I could make the most of my made up face. I went to a wedding later that day and received nothing, but incredible compliments on my make up. Second time around, I returned for my shower make up. Ashlee was working a different event and wasn't able to do my makeup, instead I had Jessica. Jessica was so lovely and personable. She chatted with me the entire time and mixed colors to find the best shade for me and my skin tone. It was amazing. Then for my big day, the store was so accommodating and they were happy to travel wherever I needed them to. It was greatly appreciated that their travel time was already worked into the price. I was only expecting Ashlee and Jessica, but we also got Nicky at no extra cost! All three of them were wonderful and worked very efficiently to make sure that each of my bridesmaids, my mother, and I were all well taken care of. Ashlee was even happy to pause on her way out to help touch up my makeup after I smudged it. Highly recommend working with Muah. Their store is super cute too! And they travel with their own light, so even if you don't have a space with the correct lighting, they'll still be able to take care of you.

All of my bridesmaids, my mom and my mother in law were so happy with their hair and make-up and they all looked beautiful! As for me, I've had my make-up done before but when I saw myself in the mirror after Nikole finished my make-up, I truly felt like a bride. She did exactly what I wanted from a mix of inspo pics and I couldn't have been happier. For my hair, Whitney gave me everything I could've wished for and more. It looked perfect, it held all night and wasn't in my face at all. Not only that, but all the women who worked with us on the day were so friendly and warm! They made the day that much more special. I made my appointment through Instagram and a phone call. They confirmed that they had the hair I was requesting on hand and took my $50 deposit. In the days leading up to my appointment, I got a phone call every single day to reconfirm my appointment which was excessive. When I arrive I had to wait 45 minutes after my initial scheduled booking because the Hairstylist was busy. I wanted to leave at that point however my boyfriend convinced me to stay. I was told that the bundles that they had already confirmed that I requested were not in stock despite steady confirmation of them available every single day prior. They only had that was similar 3 20" bundles so whatever that was fine I took those. Which is an inconvenience in itself. Why would you confirm that you had the hair requested if you didn't have it? Once the hairstylist started on my hair, the takedown was fine and fast. I brought my own shampoo and conditioner because I'm trying to have my hair get back to a healthy level the Hairstylist used that but then said we're gonna use our own deep conditioner after using mine and put me under the dryer. I didn't request that nor was told it's extra nothing. She starts blow drying out my hair that was fine however, to give a description my hair is thin, loose wave curls, and not coarse at all. She started braiding my hair. It was already starting super tight, but I understand braiders all very different so I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. She's using braiding gel in my hair, which my hair does not need to hold a braid. And it doesn't even go with my hair type. It got to the point where she was braiding so tight that I had to grip the arm rest. I've been getting my hair braided for years with installs. I have never had that issue nor that feeling. They got to the point where I was like. Can you please just stop using the braiding gel cause I felt like that was the issue. All of my braids were super tight when she threaded my hair to put the bundles in it was already making my already tight hair even tighter. I just wanted her to hurry up and be done with my hair. When it came time to pay, I had to pay for the bundles first on arrival. And at the end of the hair appointment, I was charged $15 for a deep conditioning. Which I never requested, nor was told during the process. I was charged an additional amount to install the third bundle. So installs only come with two bundles apparently lol. I was almost charged for a trimming fee, but she instead said no they took off $15 for the Hairstylist being late at starting my appointment. I was charged a styling fee. Everything was fee on top of fee on top of fee. Now fast-forward to a month later, I had my hair washed once in between as maintenance after that all of the braids and threads got super loose. I took down my braids and washed my hair after washing my hair. I was literally losing clumps of hair and already have thin hair that is detrimental. I do not it will not ever recommend this place of business. I literally only booked because as New Jersey resident I have been going to a hair lady in Brooklyn that I have loved. I just stopped wanting to travel so far out out of my way if I could find someone in New Jersey, this was my mistake. Whoever runs their Yelp account, makes it a point to argue to every negative review left, however you cannot change anyone's experience after the fact, this is my experience and I stand standby it
